Hahaha gotta love that kind of answer! I was honestly ticked off by that sentence: "I like running too, but I know better than to run 5+ miles multiple times per week. That's just stupidity..." Really? lol

There is a couple of smaller gym here that are that way. Illegal ?!? Wow.

I'm running 50+mpw and I'm not dead... WOW. Don't listen to her. There is nothing wrong with what you are doing. To answer your original question, I would try it and see how you feel. I don't see anything wrong with that idea  Just listen to your body and don't push if you are sore. I bet it will take you a couple…

I used to run on my lunch break... But I can't run more than 4 miles, and it's not enough for me at this point. I really miss it! Especially in the winter, since it means daylight/sun!

I'm currently reading Running Through the Wall: Personal Encounters with the Ultramarathon. It's a collection of short stories, written by regular people. It feels like you are reading their blog. I'm enjoying it. Some stories are better written than others, but they are all interesting so far. It's a different perspective…

I really liked Relentless Forward Progress. :)

So I've decided to do the half as a training run after all LOL. (I might change my mind by the time registrations open up though haha). But I don't really want to miss it since I've done it every year since I've started running. I could run it with you

I have 2 running closets. Enough said.

I've started C25K in March 2013. At first it was hard, I quitted and restarted it 3 times... Then, in the process I fell in love with running. I've run numerous races since then, including 2 marathons. Honestly, you can do this. When I started I couldn't run 15 seconds. I can now run 4 hours without a walking break. If I…

I'm from Ottawa, and also running a half on April 26. I'm curious, which one are you doing?
-
The only race I'm SET on doing is Boston. And I'm gonna get there by qualifying. :)

Aren't we all ?!? :#

I went from couch to marathon in less than 14 months. I had a great first marathon (3:49, no walking, no wall, no issues). I then had an even better second marathon. Then I got injured. Why? Probably because I wanted to do more than my body could handle. Are you planning on running that marathon and never running again…

You need to eat at a deficit. Deficit meaning burning more calories (with everyday activities and exercises if you do some) than what you eat. No exercises will help if you eat too much.
-
Yes. You should be burning around 450-500 calories running 6 miles... 1300-500 calories isn't enough. 1200 should be your NET number... Net meaning food - exercises
