Hi Jenif, another good exercise for cardio is riding the bike, I like to find some good trails near me and when the weather is nice, get out and bike, I also have a recumbent bike at home that I use along with my treadmill, I switch back and forth between the two and it is a good combination for me. I need to start adding…

Hi Dahli, I am glad to see that you are using MFP, it is a great site. Once you reach your goal weight, to maintain that weight you will probably need to add more calories to your diet until you reach a point where you are not gaining or losing, especially if you remain active. Good luck with MFP, I am sure that you will…

How about Salsa Chicken, it is easy to make and not too much fat. I take the chicken breasts and coat them with about a half bag of taco seasoning, then I place them in a baking dish, I coat the chicken with a jar of salsa, any salsa will do, depends what you like. I bake at 375 degrees for 40 min, and during the last 5…

Hi there, no it doesn't make you boring, I too, especially when I am working and I pack my dinners to eat at work. Everyday I work I eat a natural applesauce, a yoplait light yogurt, a 60 cal SF pudding, and a turkey or ham sandwich. I have always done it this way, even before I began MFP. It is just easier for me to keep…

Hi Janet, I am glad that you are using MFP, it is a great site. Good luck with your cardio-weight class, it sounds challenging. One small piece of advice, try setting smaller goals within your large goal, you may find more success doing this, and the small gains may be more acheivable. Good Luck to you! BJ

Hi there! I too work out on the treadmill, but when I use MFP, it usually gives me more calories than what the treadmill says, I believe that MFP takes into account your body weight when figuring out your calories burned, so if you do not have that feature on your treadmill, I believe the closer number would be the MFP…

Way to go! You are doing a wonderful job. I to work 10 hour shifts at a hospital, but I workout before I go in because I work so late at night. I am starting to run more on the treadmill now, but not as much as you, I did do 3.5 miles without stopping today. Keep it up!

Hi Suzyblues, a good start to strength training is to begin with small dumbbells, a 5lb and a 8lb set would be a good start. There are lots of exercises that you can do with dumbbells, and they are not that expensive. I got a beginning weight training book to help me get started. Good Luck to you! Whatever you do, have fun…

Good Morning to you! I usually start my day by having kashi "cocoa beach" granola and yoplait light yogurt, or I started eating new Thomas "bagel thins", which are only 110 calories and very yummy. I also enjoy village hearth light english muffins with "dark chocolate dreams" peanut butter. For cold cereals I usually stick…
