It would be nice if they could send out some sort of heads up. How long does it usually take for them to get the syncing back together?
-
I saw that, but I don't see the option for macros by meal
-
I've asked a few of my MFP friends but they haven't gotten back to me yet. I'll post in here if I find out!
-
I just drank a case of Diet Coke and I feel 100% better than I've ever felt.

Take it however you like

I enjoyed this article, but it doesn't even get into any issues other than bladder infections (briefly) and focuses mainly on cancer risk, not on nutritional response within the body.

@Hornsby and @ninerbuff, just because you don't like the one article I posted, the research isn't quackery. And I have no idea what the ADA has to do with knowledge of the effects of artificial sweeteners on any part of the body except teeth. We weren't talking about teeth. This isn't "my dental pal" for god's sake. If…

For everyone who didn't like my response, I never said that regular sodas are good for you. But you'll notice that the original poster asked what the potential harm of diet drinks/artificial sweeteners could be. If it's working out for you, great. But this post wasn't "let's defend artificial sweeteners and lambast someone…

http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/261179.php Artificial sweeteners cause a spike in blood sugar, as well as an elevated insulin response, which turns off the brain's receptors that tell the body to stop storing fat. This insulin response can lead to diabetes. STOP DRINKING DIET SODA. Unless, of course, you're trying…

Whole milk is much better for you. Skim milk and 2% milk lack the whole protein chain, and the whole milk's fat content aids in protein synthesis. Skim milk and 2% milk make you fat. If you want to just drink milk to gain weight, go for it. If you want to be satiated and get nutrients from your food, drink whole.

How in the WORLD do y'all eat so little calories? I feel like I'm going to pass out if I get less than 1600 a day.
-
Amazing!! Great work!!
-
Me too. Chiming in so I can find this thread again.

33 years old, 5'5", 110lbs. I really hope I don't drop anymore weight. But my body doesn't seem to know how to quit losing. So I'm eating LOTS. I run 25-40 miles per week, and I eat around 3,000 calories/day. I always eat my exercise calories back.
-
Hahaha I love it. I thought I was the only one who supplemented carbs with wine & beer.
-
Me too. Not for college but I run 25-40 miles per week. I've tried eating almost 4,000 calories a day, changed my macros to 60carbs/20fats/20proteins but I'm still losing. I would like to put the brakes on losing weight & I would like to gain some back-- but I'm not willing to slow down my activity. What have y'all done…

Agreed. If you're active, you need to fuel your body!! Maintenance (before exercise calories) for me is 2200. How are y'all not passing out from hunger? Just goes to show you how very different all of us really are. Good luck to you on your journey.
-
I'm more likely to unfriend someone if it seems like they're restricting themselves too much. I work a very active job & I run around 35 miles/week. My maintanance calories are set at 2200 & I eat back most of my exercise calories. I'm 5'5", 114lbs & I'm 33. When I don't eat enough, I can't function! Keep doing what you're…

Well y'all this has resurfaced-- I have been properly fitted, in shoes with lots of toebox room-- I am fairly certain it's a nerve thing. It's only in my right foot. I saw an article about taping the 3rd & 4th toes so I'm going to see if that alleviates the issue.
-
I think I should caution you against trying to just up your mileage in 2 runs a week. If your goal is, say, 10 miles a week, running 2.5 miles 4 x week is much better than pushing yourself to 5 miles twice a week. (Speaking from experience, injury, and having to start over after injury.) If you have to eat an hour before a…
-
I can't say for sure that it's your IT band, but it sounds like it. Do you have a local running store with a free injury clinic? Most specialty running stores have at least one injury clinic with screenings once a month. Sometimes I go even if I don't think I'm injured. It never hurts to get checked out. Think of it this…

Thanks so much everyone! Charlie, I may get back to you very soon. I think you added me. Yesterday was a horrible example of the way I usually eat, and not a cheat day, but if you want to look through my diary, feel free! I just changed my macros to 45-30-25 (carbs/protein/fats) so we'll see how this goes!
-
I'm not sure that I agree with the "no food is unhealthy" sentiment, but I do agree that I can allow myself to eat foods if they fit into my macros and calorie requirements. But doughnuts don't fit my macros & certainly don't fuel me the way whole foods do. I allow myself to cheat but I was asking the community for…

I'm having the same problem! Add me if you like!

I just reread your original post & saw the "aren't athletes" part & realized my answer probably didn't help much. Haha. Sorry for not reading it thoroughly before posting a reply.
-
Well, I initially used MFP lose around 15 pounds. Now I'm trying to maintain my weight. I run 25-35 miles per week & I work a pretty physical job. I walk my dog about 2 miles everyday. (Not part of my runs.) I need to eat about 2500-3000 calories everyday except my "rest" days when I don't run or cross-train. I'm 5'5" &…

Add me too!! https://www.fitbit.com/user/2XNT4N

Maybe, but I easily get off track, and I've been on a pretty good streak. I'm better now, but I was running a fever for a few days and honestly, logging everything helped me keep track of what day it was with how much I was sleeping. Soooo glad to be better!! And for the record: I went over almost every day for a week.…

Thanks everyone. I can assure you it's not that my shoes are laced too tight. I'll try different lacing techniques but I've decided I'm going to get fitted again. After all, what's another $150 when I don't want my body to be messed up forever?
-
Only 49 miles on my shoes. I went to my pcp & they are suggesting new shoes, even though I'm not sure that's the problem.
