Yeh, that was definitely brave! A lot of people have no idea about potential loose skin problems after loosing weight, so his video going viral is a big deal.

No! I have never deep fried anything. Not that I don't appreciate others doing it for me. HYE had something very lucky happen to you that was *exceedingly*, *extremely* unlikely, given the odds or circumstances?

Not much of this year left! Only game I was looking forward to this year that hasn't been released yet is Witcher 3 and that got delayed to Feb 2015. Bah.

Shadow of Mordor was so much fun. Surprisingly I didn't like Alien Isolation. I thought it would be perfect since I loved Amnesia. Playing it with an Oculus Rift might be amazing though. Hope you can find a way to get it working.

Started playing Civilization 5 for the first time. I like it, a lot, but I've also grown a little weary of Civ games and their addictive "just one more turn" factor. Also, winning somehow feels really disappointing. Not sure why.

Reading Mockingjay, the 3rd Hunger Games book. Want to finish it before I see the film since I find it hard to enjoy a book if I know what's going to happen. A film, on the other hand, isn't diminished for me if its based on a book I've already read. In fact it seems to add something to seeing it on the screen.

Darn. If they only work for steady state cardio that's not so good for me because I like to mix it up. If I start to get tired doing stationary bike I jump off it and do some calisthenics for a few minutes before jumping back on. Helps me last longer in my exercise buzz zone.

Thanks. VERY good blog you have there sir. Reading about HRMs now. If HRMs are only about 80% accurate then I'll drop 20% off my calorie count to be cautious. But what's all this stuff about there not being a Santa Claus. :(
-
What about HRMs that take weight and height into account? Mine does (Polar FT4). I was under the impression a HRM was the most accurate way to measure calories burned.

Possibly. I used to get bad car sickness as a kid  HYE been scammed by some offer you found online?

Not sure if the cycling motion would mess with your bone spur but its worth a try. Even if it does, you'll know soon enough. Chances are it'll be a *lot* less aggravating than jogging. Also you might find your muscles compensate to relieve the stress on your tendon. Incidentally, I HATED using a spin bike to begin with. I…

I find it hard going and can't really enjoy it in the same way that lower intensity exercise can be fun (because of endorphin release seeing you through the long haul). It is extremely efficient and powerful, however, while also being a lot healthier than long, drawn out cardio. It also stirs up quite a bit of HGH. I feel…

Noooo, don't let this mess everything up. Put your foot down and start up again. Lean on friends here for help. There are always going to be downs for the ups. 20lbs is great. Even if you're not impressed with how you look on the outside you will initially have lost a lot of visceral fat internally and that's so important…

Add me. Will be building up steam over the next month so could use some more friends on here.

Hi! I'm a 38 yr old guy living in Canada. Looking to lose a bit and improve overall health. I work loooooong hours on a computer so need to find a way to balance that with diet, exercise and other habits. Add me!

Definitely. French bread, brie, sweet relish, bacon, butter, lettuce and chipotle spice. Workmate couldn't resist and ate it. Have you ever been attacked by a wild animal?

First season only. Quit after that in frustration. HYE woken up and not known who you were and where you were?

Seems to me you don't need to be concerned with weight loss at all. If its not that important to you personally then forget it because focusing on strength and fitness will give you so much more in return. You could gain so much in those areas and feel amazing as a result.

Some say exercise at night can leave you restless when you need to sleep. Thing is, if its part of a regular routine your body and mind will likely adjust regardless, so its a bit of a non-issue.

Um, sorry if this contradicts the majority of posts here but you can definitely work too hard in a counterproductive way. Anything that grows feels a little bit sore. However, extremely sore is not a mental block that needs to be broken, its an urgent physical warning sign that needs to be listened to. If you ignore it…

One way to know what you might be close to burning in calories is to use a heart rate monitor in relation to your weight and age and see what using the light set does to your heart rate over the course of a work out.

I don't think any obese person wants to be obese. The intent is kind of the same :)

But, who is going to joke about you now? You look like a beast. You're more like an inspiration. Do you think the pushing back hard thing is like, a guy thing? As some posts here reference? Because when I get pissed off, I fight back. Its like an in-built response. My wife gets down whenever someone is critical. I want to…

Hmm. Do you think this might be somewhat different for men than it is women? I suspect men might have a natural competitiveness that, in moderation, makes attacks or rejection feel like a challenge. Also, men tend to get a lot of encouragement from other men if they're trying to lose weight or get stronger. Women get both…

Yeah, you can find your way back, even if the route might be different to before. It really happens! Keep going until you cross that (invisible) line. Then, keep going because it feels good :)

I've still never been to an actual yoga class because of this. As a guy I feel like yoga classes are off-limits to me. Taiji and Qigong is different. With Yoga I've always used books and practiced alone, when I'm going through a phase of trying it. The big "hook" for yoga I've found is the way I feel inside and appear to…
