  • Most veggies are mostly water and for a lot of them just picking up your fork will burn them off. But fruit has fiber and sugars so I think it is heavier. I have actually heard that t is best to eat fruit in the beginning of the day because of this. I do not think fruit and veggies could ever make you fat though. I'd count…
  • The almond milk has more calcium than regular. I have heard some bad things about non organic milk about the processes it goes through and the cows having antibiotics in them and whatnot. A friend of mine is considerig switching to pure raw cow's milk that you can only get from a farm. Unless you want to do the raw thing…
  • Yes I feel like a complete idiot. But I am doing it anyway. I also feel stupid even doing an exercise DVD in front of my husband.
  • The whole mindset should change about dieting. They should stop saying "eat less" and start saying "eat better" I am sure I could eat salad all day and be fine. But measuring calories does serve a purpose, it does help especially i the beginning so you can become aware of what you are eating and what is in all of it. And…
  • being obsessed and addicted to being healthy is not so great. I see in myself I get obsessed the same way I was obsessed in the other direction. Balance is the key. You already know- throw the junk food in the TRASH and do not eat it. But you have to reach the point where you really want it to be able to do that. I have…
  • Love this! LOL
  • You've lost 65 lbs. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU! You have done more than most others can do. Do you want to be perfect? Because nobody is. It's a cycle you are in. Eat,, guilt eat. Don't feel guilty and don't punish yourself and the pattern will stop. I am very close to getting rid of my kids' junk foods as well! But…
  • That is so great and in only 2 months!!!!! I see a huge difference and I think when the scale did not move was probably because at the same time you got rid of fat yo gained muscle. You look fantastic. What kind of diet are you following? I want your results!
  • I think squats are the best. Also, I do this kickboxing workout and one segment uses hand weights while doing kicks and lunges. I swear my butt is smaller already. That one is 10 minute solutions kickboxing. It is on Netfix so if you have that you can use it for free.
  • I would think they should come out easier now that you stopped all that stuff. I would double your water intake and see if that helps. I would also get more fiber either through salads and fruits or just adding benefiber to food or beverages.
  • I have never been able to run either. If you make it around the track I;d say you CAN run! I can go for like 1-2 minutes at best and then have to walk again.
  • I try to pay my dues, if not the same day then the next if I can. But I think there is something to be said for taking it one day at a time. We can;t go back and change what we did before so there is no point to feeling guilty, all we can do is deal with the now. If we can do it we should rectify it If we can't for some…
  • I am so surprised to see this. All the before and after pics I see on here make the person look so much younger after weight loss. It did not occur to me that it might work the other way.
  • Yes totaly worth it. I love mine so much. The only way to really know how many calories are burned. Everyone on here recommended the Polar and so I got that one (the f4). It is really good.
  • Happens to me too and then I feel like the weight I lost was back and I really did not lose anything. And even though a lot of people are sayign you weigh less in the morning, I don't. I weigh more in the morning until about noon or so. And then later on at night I weigh more again.
  • If that is the case why are so many of us put on 1200 calorie diets even when we input that we will be working out 5 or 6 times a week?
  • I started it today
  • I am not 100% sure. I can tell you that when I am stressed or feel cold or sick or have cramps, I feel like if I eat one more thing I will be okay- over and over again. Also, when I have things to do I will eat as a way to procrastinate. I am pretty compulsive in general. With the computer, cleaning, even working out.
  • When I was young- like still in the teens up to 21 or so I was about 100 lbs, but I think it was too thin. Then in the early 20's 110. Mid to late 20's 120-130 until pregnancy where i blew up. My goal (I am 36) is 120. I am not sure I COULD get any lower at this point in my life and after 2 kids. I will reassess when I…
  • I used to have mine closed. I didn't want people to see when I ate a piece of candy or something bad like that. I did not trust myself enough yet not to do those things. And having other people see it would have increased my guilt. Once I became more fully committed and more confident that I can do this, I opened my diary.…
  • When I really, realy want to do it, when all I can think about is getting another workout in, then I can wake up early. And of course you have to go to bed in enough time so you get 8 hours of sleep. That being said 5am is not right for everyone. Maybe you're not a morning person. Maybe you do better working out at night.…
  • Sometimes the cholesterol thing is just genetic :(
  • It's in bloodwork the doctor usually sends you for annually. You can ask to have it done. They usually check cholesterol and sugars.
  • Thank you! The scale barely moves for me and sometimes it tells me I gained but I know it makes no sense scientifically for that to be so and I know my jeans are looser. So I appreciate seeing this. Makes me feel better!
  • My main reason for starting this is like yours- for health. It's probably not a great attitude to have, but I really did not care very much what i looked like once I met my husband. We love each other no matter what and both let ourselves go especially through pregnancies. But having very high cholesterol, being…
  • I'm a SAHM as well. Only to two kids so compared to you I feel lazy. I can tell you that I was never into working out or sports or anything like that in my life but now I love it. And I think part of that is because it is something I am doing by myself just for me!
  • Hi. I read this book when I first decided I wanted to lose weight. You can read it free online- http://uranus.ckt.net/~gochiefs/Eat%20Stop%20Eat.pdf It does make a good argument for intermittent fasting. I thought that would be the path for me. There were times, when I was eating like crap that my body would tell me I…
