I'm still working on my husband - He bought his running shoes (six months ago) and keeps saying he's going to start, but hasn't set the date yet. I keep tell him to schedule that start date!! LOL! He's eating much better, though!

Thanks, everyone! I have a long commute to work as well. It takes me about an hour to get home - I hate traffic!! The only advice I have as far as how to get up in the morning is to set a date. Tell yourself you're going to start Monday, January 21. Try to get to bed earlier (30 minutes earlier each night till you can get…

Hi everyone! I'm from the Cincinnati area. I got serious about losing April 2012. Since then, I'm down 55 pounds and have 24 to go till I hit the top of my healthy weight goal / BMI. I love MFP and am so glad a friend told me about it. I'm a wife, mom and working girl. I've found that I love to run and am looking forward…

Haha! That's too funny  Maybe the next picture I'll do that!

Thank you  Yes, my husband has lost 20 pounds and recently said he's going to start running again. For whatever reason, we both stopped making time to exercise when we got married. At least we're back on the right track now!

Thank you! Yes, it has been a lot of fun clothes shopping! Congrats to you!!

Thanks everyone! As silly as it sounds what really got me thinking was when my doctor said to me he could write me a prescription when I am sick, but I'd have to write my own prescription to get myself back in shape. I read a lot on these message boards about diet and exercise and on http://www.nutrition.gov/ I started…

Thanks for mentioning this. I googled it and am reading the getting started section now. Very interesting.

I struggled with that question myself the first time I had to donate a ton of clothes. Some of the clothes I donated I really loved :) I felt like if I hung on to the "fat clothes," that in the back of my mind I was doubting myself and almost setting myself up to gain the weight back. I realized that I've made a lifestyle…

Welcome! I'll send you a friend request.

I'll send you a friend request. I joined MFP in November, but didn't buckle down until April. Now I'm 46 lbs down with more to go, but I'm past the half way mark which feels great. I work out 5 days/wk and track my calories, weigh my food, etc. MFP gives you the support you need ot make it happen! Good luck to you!

Ha ha!

I wondered the same thing as I naturally started to run on the balls of my feet. Check this article out from the American Academy of Podiatric Sports Medicine http://aapsm.org/ct0102.htm Part of the article is below: Some say to run on the ball of your foot, others say contact the ground with the heel. I take a middle of…

Completely agree! MFP is the best and has kept me on track. I find inspiration from everyone on here!

Planning your exercise should be an intentional act. Those you intentionally plan are most often successful, whether that be in business or life in general. By planning your exercise schedule, you become accountable to making healthy choices. Block out time on your schedule to exercise. Set short and long term goals. I…
