I am going to be joining you in this. I have been off shift work for a year now. But I will be back on before the end of this year. I know when I work nights (6pm-630am) that I eat to stay awake. My plan is to change the meal periods to times rather than meals. Also I plan on making my 4pm meal the big meal that I spend…

Try Tiesto. Upbeat techno.

I treat mine like a bank account and look at a running 7 day average. Unless I have an extravagant day, it just gets saved. But I am only talking about 200-400 remaining per day.

L1D4 Down!!! It's so hard until the last cardio minutes. When is it ok to move to L2?

I log it under circuit training. I only count the exercise and not the warm up or cool down. Is this correct?

I just started yesterday. So count me in.

Christopher Moore's Bite Me, A Love Story. Third in a tongue-in-cheek vampire series centered in San Francisco. I recommend most of his books, but his humor is not universal.

My doc also told me to remember that diet is 70-80% of successful weight loss. Remember that your heart doesn't have to beat out of your chest to be effective. Keep walking if it doesn't cause you harm/pain.

I'm with you. I dropped 20 lbs in 14 weeks. Now I haven't lost a pound in 4 weeks. I picked up the 30day shred for my change of exercise. I am giving it a month before I try adding more calories because I am so capable of falling back into old habits. Fear is a strong motivator for me.

I'm 38 and I just got serious about this in four months ago. I weighed up to 235 and hated it. I made excuses about how I would look like an alien at the proper weight. I wish now that I would have started at your age. It's so much harder to take off weight now. BUT I did take off 20 lbs from 205 to 185 in less than 4…

One thing I have been doing that helps me a lot is in planning my daily food. I input my breakfast, lunch, and snacks the night before. Then I have my limits set for the day. It is still flexible if I decide to make changes. But I have to decide not to eat some calories if I am going to eat some unexpected treat. Also I…

My wife did this Barium test. She describes it as "the most disgusting thing" she's ever had to do. The drink is this nasty thick stuff and it comes out stinky a day later. I would try to control it if you know how. I have had issues with heartburn when I over-indulge.

Painful!!! (for a few days) BUT definitely worth it!

For me, I was eating much too large portions. So just bringing my food portions to a reasonable level brought my daily calorie intake from 2400-2500 down to 1800 overnight. So I was saving upwards of 700 calories per day. Then I added about 200 calories from exercise. So that comes to about 78% diet and 22% exercise. The…

It's great! We have no other mayo in the house.

Congrats! I was above 200 for 17 years. I too was ecstatic to get below. At every 5 lb mark I swear to myself to never go above that mark again. It seems to be helping. Continue the good effort!

WOW! That's aggressive. Good Luck!

My wife makes a great posole. Traditionally Posole is made with pork or beef. Since she doesn't eat either of those, she uses chicken. She adds chicken broth, tomato sauce, chicken, celery, and carrots. She boils it all together as a soup. She tops the finished product with chopped scallions, chopped cilantro, lite sour…

This is a rule that my wife and I stick to. We work hard to eat right and exercise. Special occasions are not days of restraint. However, I always count what I eat for my own information. And usually I can't eat as much as I used to because my body just can't stand it anymore.
