I eat Cookie Crisp cereal. It's processed and loaded with sugar but it's vegan anyway.

I'm a vegan and I like it very much. Meat is hard for me to digest and I didn't care for it much anyway.
-
I didn't drink any alcohol and I'm not going to because it only makes me miserable and packs on the pounds.

I was anorexic as a teenager, and in recovery my metabolism went into overdrive. I used to eat a quart of yogurt each day in addition to my regular meals but still it took a long time to put on weight. Please be patient, and try eating calorie-dense foods like nuts and nut butters. I love guacamole, avocados are healthy…

I sometimes douse food with household cleaners to prevent me from eating it. My mother would be so ashamed of me for wasting food.

I work out on my mini-stepper or my trampoline, sometimes lift weights while watching TV.
-
No way. I'd never want to go under the knife.

Muscle can't turn to fat. The only way your muscles would get really big is if you were taking steroids.
-
If you don't trust yourself I'd say throw them away. You don't want to ruin all the good work you've done. Kudos for getting off the sweets!

I do fine on 1200 calories a day. But everyone's different.

Welcome!

Starvation diets generally don't work. You need fuel if you are exercising that much.

Welcome! Feel free to add me. :)

If you have lost inches, you have probably gained muscle and lost fat. Muscle is denser than fat which is probably why you haven't seen a difference on the scale. Taking measurements is as important as tracking weight. You might want to try interval training or circuit training to boost your calorie burn if you really…

I eat more than 1200 if I work out a lot.

We do the best we can. It's hard to be 100% vegan all the time.

Yes, catnip is sometimes included in teas that are supposed to calm you down.

I've heard that oolong tea is a metabolism booster. It doesn't taste very good though. I like chamomile, catnip and hops tea to help me relax. And yerba mate gives me a kick.

Fair enough. I don't even like honey that much. I was just curious about other people's views on the subject.

You can be healthy on a vegan diet, but it takes a lot of committment. I've been a vegetarian for many years, vegan for 4 months and i feel great. I suggest forksoverknives.com. I saw the film and it is very enlightening.

I say 90% diet and 10% exercise. It's true that exercise itself doesn't burn a ton of calories but you get and afterburn: after a workout your metabolic rate is elevated for a few hours. Cutting calories alone works for weight loss but exercising will give you an advantage.

Welcome back! Glad you're here. Not all victories are related to the number on the scale. Try staying focused on your plan and congratulate yoursef at the end of the day for exercising and eating right. The weight loss will come.

Welcome back Chrissie! Please feel free to add me.

Welcome Emma. I'm 48 and live in the USA. Please feel free to add me if you like!

Nuts and nut butters contain healthy fats. I wouldn't worry unless you're eating a lot of cheese which contains saturated fat.
-
Are you doing strength training? That's probably why you look slimmer. Muscle weighs more than fat and takes up less space. You're probably gaining muscle and losing fat. I suggest you take your measurements, it's not just the number on the scale that's important.

I tried low-carb once and didn't stick with it for long because it sapped my energy. Have seen people post that after cutting carbs they had MORE energy than before. I was probably doing it wrong, not eating any vegetables. If I ate low-cal vegetables like leafy greens, do you think that would make me feel better on a low…

When I'm eating whatever I want and not tracking calories my weight settles at 102-105 lbs. That's a "healthy" weight for me according to the charts (I'm 5'2' with a small frame) but I don't take much stock in the charts. You can't pigeonhole people. At 90 lbs I feel great and fit into all of my jeans. It takes work but…
