I'm a recovering alcoholic, and I'm in on any challenge that involves not imbibing. Alcohol has lots of empty calories and it puts weight on me fast.

Try logging what you eat, and the amounts, and see what effect it has on your weight after a week or two. Then analyze your diet adjust your intake as needed. You can practice portion control even if you don't know the calories. It's sort of trial-and-error but it's the best I can come up with!

I was anorexic as a teenager and in college my mind and body rebelled against the starvation and I started eating compulsively. Been yo-yo dieting and eating emotionally ever since...bleh

After I started doing yoga on a daily basis, I found that my T.O.M. was much easier to get through. I think yoga helps me relax my muscles all over. Just a thought.

3 meals and 2 small snacks.

Thank you all for your advice and your kind words! You're right I shouldn't stress about the food. No need to complicate my life with that when I'm working on staying sober. Can't wait to get back to working out.

I'm left-handed, and my left thigh is bigger (and stronger) than my right.

Don't panic! If you're still hungry try filling up on vegetables or fruit, if you try to ignore your hunger you might end up bingeing again. You did well for months, one slip doesn't mean you'll slide into a bad pattern. Just put today behind you and start fresh. 1000 calories a day is too low, especially if you're…

Welcome to MFP! There's plenty of support and advice here. I suggest you log your food carefully and measure everything, if you aren't doing so already. That way you get accurate feedback. It will be great when you can walk again, just take it easy until then. In the meantime you can do some strength training for your…

How did you lose the weight? If your diet was deficient in protein or certain micronutrients that can cause hair loss.

I've been bingeing on graham crackers. They're probably as bad as cookies. I need to quit cold turkey. At the moment I'm in an inpatient treatment facility (for my mental illness) and there's all this yummy food around, crackers, corn bread, things I'd addicted to. I'm also an alcoholic and can't have "just one" of…

Try dandelion tea.

No, I didn't eat that much. It's probably mostly water weight, who knows how much salt they put in nasty hospital food (I limit my sodium intake when I prepare food for myself at home). I feel embarrassed about what I posted. Probably overreacting.

I think it's a good idea to stop logging for a while. Taking your focus off the numbers might help ease your anxiety. Just think about eating healthy. Best of luck to you.

If you're scared to eat enough calories to achieve a healthy weight you should probably tell your doctor. Is sounds might you might be sliding into an eating disorder. I'm not a professional, i don't presume to diagnose you, just writing from my personal experience with anorexia.

Feel free to add me. I like the 80/20 rule. Some days are better than others.

Don't do something if it hurts! You might want to try yoga or Pilates, and measure your food intake.

I tried a water fast and it did not help for weight loss. I just made me feel extremely depressed.

You are being too hard on yourself! You can make changes one day at a time.

I put it in coffee, tea, on cereal and fruit, anywhere I put sugar.

I stopped drinking alcohol. I like peanut butter but never have more than 2 tablespoons in one day. I cook veggies with low cal cooking spray and lots of spices.

I like blow pops (50 calories) or Andes chocolate mints.

How about stir-fry with rice and lots of vegetables?

I'm a vegan and always come out with too many carbs but I don't worry about it.

I think you should get another doctor! And a nutritionist. It's hard to overcome an ED on your own.

I don't reward myself with food. I will splurge on holidays or my birthday.

I fall down:sad:
