I was told not to waste food. My mother was very poor when she was growing up. At age 16 I starved myself down to 70 lbs, when my mom found out I was throwing away my lunches she said, "What a shame! you wasted all that good food." I don't like feeling full, feel better when I'm empty.

If you drink ice cold water your body will burn more calories to heat up the water.

I do this sometimes. Just last night I ate a bunch of Tastycakes and drank several glasses of wine, and undid several weeks of sticking to my plan. I was going to starve myself today to make up for it but decided that would be counterproductive. The best thing to do when this happens is go right back on your regular food…

Two people were murdered in cold blood and their killer got set free. I was disgusted. I was at work and I heard people cheering and clapping. Gross. What has happened to humanity that some would celebrate this verdict?

Feel free to add me.

High-impact exercise puts stress on your joints if you have a lot of weight on you. Walking on hilly terrain is a good way to get your heart rate up and burn a lot of calories.

I want to look good. Who doesn't? And run faster and longer (running makes me feel great). I have a family history of colon cancer. There's nothing that can be done about genetics but eating healthy will help reduce my risk of getting the disease.

It's generally recommended that you plan on losing 1-2 lbs a week, which would mean 12-24 lbs in 3 months if you do the math. But it doesn't always work out that way, and weight loss tends to slow down as you lose more.
-
44 lbs lost in a month sounds dangerous. That's more than a pound a day, every day. I don't know how somebody could lose like that unless they were very sick.

I enjoy to walking, running and kickboxing. I'm not wild about strength training but I do it anyway because adding muscle mass really boosts my metabolism. Sometimes you have to bite the bullet and just do it, if you want results. I agree it's a good idea not to go by the scale alone, you have to take measurements and see…

If you're eating mostly cheese, dairy and egg you're probably craving carbohydrates. Maybe you can try working some good carbs (whole grains, veggies) into your food plan. This might curb your craving for sweets at night.
-
The ones you find in cans are probably full of sugar and additives. I prefer making my own from scratch.

I was at work, and heard a lot of people cheering and clapping their hands. And I wondered why they were doing that.

Why do you think you're overeating? You say you're on holidays, maybe you're bored. Try starting a new project, anything to keep you busy. And if you're not at work you have more time to exercise. I'm glad you're feeling better.

I don't eat heavy meals right before bed because it would disturb my sleep. But if I stopped eating at 4PM I'd wake up ravenous in the middle of the night. I might have a light snack late in the day but that's it. As long as you count your calories the timing probably doesn't matter.

Potato chips and dip

Because it makes me feel good.

I'm 47. Can't work out as hard as I used to. I have congestive heart failure as a result of a chronic eating disorder. Trying to do more strength training to boost my metabolism.

Drinking alcohol causes me to pack on the pounds, it makes my face puffy and increases my appetite. I stopped drinking and feel much better off without it.

What does TDEE mean? I might be eating too much but I lost 2 lbs. Added some strength training, maybe that boosted my metabolism.

I don't have a bench. I do chest presses with dumbbells and a stability ball.

I'm too lazy to do serious weight training. A few years ago I did it for 45 minutes 3 times a week and it really made a difference in my body. Lost weight without changing my diet. Now doing it for only 5 minutes. I want to get back in the habit of long workouts.

I wouldn't approach friends about weight loss unless I wanted to offend them. I know you care about your friends but the best thing you can do is set a good example.

I suffer from depression as well and I'm an emotional eater. When I want to eat I'll go for a walk and that helps. At work I get on the computer and come to MFP or play games on Facebook, anything to distract me. Love chocolate, try to keep it out of the house. My doctor prescribed Seroquel but I stopped taking it because…

I would like to have more friends as well. Anyone can send me a request.

Congrats! You're doing great.

Do you think I should be eating more? I might have slowed my metabolism going under 1200 calories.
-
If you're exercising a lot you might need to increase your calories. If you're not eating enough to compensate for the exercise it can slow your metabolism. People might think this is wrong, they're all posting "calorie deficit" but you might want to try it for a week and see if it helps.

I've been a vegetarian for 31 years and recently went vegan and feel great. It's easy to get enough protein on a vegetarian diet. I saw the movie Forks over Knives and it was illuminating. Plant-based diets reduce your risk of cancer and heart disease. And I'm horrified about factory farming, it is awful. If you're a vegan…

Try changing your workouts. Are you doing the same exercises every day? If so, your body will get used to it and burn fewer calories. If you switch up your workouts you'll keep your muscles guessing and burn more calories.
