I had the RNY surgery June 2010 - lost 140 lbs and managed to maintain that for almost 3 years now, feel free to add me or pick my brain! The surgery is a tool not a the answer to losing weight, a lesson you will learn quickly, the losing phase is easy, maintaining is a challenge in a half! I never realized how much of an…

Majority of people don't dump, its a misconception. I'm 4 years out and some days dump and others don't just depends on my pouch's mood for the day.

Sorry just now seeing this! I had Dr. Carlos Ferrari out of Memorial Hermann Memorial City hospital do mine, he's simply amazing! Personally I tried a lot of different brands of protein shakes, the only one I can stand is BodyFortress Vanilla from Walmart, its good with just a shake in the blender, shake in a shaker, added…

When you increase your fiber intake you will bloat and possibly gain, your suppose to increase your fiber slowly, if I don't get a min of 25 grams a day I notice the difference. The first 2-4 weeks of increasing your fiber you might experiencing bloating, weight gain and not a lot of movements in the relief department and…

I had my RNY surgery June 2010 - lost 135 lbs and been able to maintain the last 2 1/2 years. Feel free to add me, congrats on your success so far!

You don't need to cut out carbs, in fact I urge you not too. Yes focus more on protein is good but don't cut carbs. Eat good carbs not bad carbs, focus on that. Over time I have changed to whole wheat bread, pasta etc. It took awhile to adjust to the taste but now I love it and in fact hate white bread or white pastas.…

Think thats very normal. I have gone thru it many of times in my 4 year journey and some days are harder than others. Those days were I want to skip my work out I remind myself how amazing I'll feel after or if I want to go back to 280 lbs again or if I will be around for my son, while those comments to myself don't always…

Proud of you for taking the first step! Don't give up I promise you its worth every tear, ache and pain. 4 years ago I weight 280 lbs and lost 135 lbs and have been able to maintain it. Its not easy, not gonna sugar coat it but surround yourself with a support system and realize your worth this fight! Feel free to add me!

Myself personally I had to decided to work out in the AM before work or after work. I use to work out after work and it worked well for a year and a half then life changed and I started making excuses to not work out after work. I love my sleep too but made the decision I was going to work out in the mornings. I get up at…

Agree with food scale and weighing your foods. Also I didn't look very far into your diary maybe a week but your sodium on some days are thru the roof. Sodium plays a factor. My body doesn't take sodium well, Ive realized I do better below 1500 mg a day. If I do 2000 mg a day for a week I gain a pound or two and bloat.…

You took the first step. Thru the darkest of times you need to always remind yourself your worth this fight. At my heaviest I was 280 lbs. Food was my comfort and best friend. Ive been on my journey 4 years now and realize theres no finish line and never will be, I fight daily to stay in my "happy" range, yes Ive went…

Best advice coming from someone that was the exact same way when I was 140 lbs over weight, don't give up. Personally myself 4 years later from starting my journey I keep the same routines. Monday thru Saturday are my work out days. Sunday is my rest day. I set a goal monthly to work out no less than 700 minutes. For…

Had RNY June 17th, 2010 - Down roughly 125 lbs to date. Having surgery does not make this any easier, all I've realized is it makes me eat less, I still have to watch what foods I put in my mouth, weigh all my food, track all my food, drink lots of water and get my work outs in.

I try everyday to meet my calorie intake, but somedays it just doesn't happen, depending on my food choices and work out for the day. Don't make it a habit every single day is my suggestion.

Track what you eat, watch what you put in your mouth. I find tracking my intake everyday keeps me accountable about what I stuff in my mouth. Get your water in everyday, a minimum of 64 oz a day. Watch your sodium intake. And get your butt moving a few times a week and you will see results. Make this a life long commitment…
