  • Thanks!! Some people in class said they like it better than the chest strap, which I hate! But I did notice they were dead a few times. I think I'll wait a month and see what more people at my location say!!
  • I'm so glad I found this group! I'm going 8x a month because I still enjoy doing spin class and running/walking on my own. It's the strength and HIIT piece I won't do alone! I'm a data freak, so I love the stats that we get during and after the class. You can't argue with the numbers!! And I agree with ph3n1xrise...I've…
  • Cool, sorry I didn't see this before! How's it going?
  • 2 miles today!
  • Swimplan.com is pretty good too. You put in your info, stroke preferences, times, etc. and you'll get a personalized workout. The free version limits you to one per day, but that's more than enough for me!
  • I know it's belated, but I did my first tri in August and am signed up for two this summer. I wore a sports bra (I'm also larger in that area so wear an under-wire racer back one) under my tri-top. It worked great. In fact, I wore a really light racer back top even under the tri top (I'm tall, and the tri-top wasn't quite…
  • I just signed up for WW again after 4 years. 6 years ago, I lost 50 lbs on WW. Since then, I've gained it almost all back by trying to maintain on my own. I have been using MFP for 2 years and recently bought a Body Media armband. While I LOVE the armband for the accurate information, it hasn't helped me in losing weight…
  • What juices are you doing? Are you following the specific recipes for the 5 day fast on the website? I think I'd like to do the 3 day just to try it out. But, I'm also training to run a full 5k, so I have a training plan that calls for 3-5 days a week of exercise with specifically 3 days of jogging. Not sure how I'll do…
  • Whoa, good for you! I finished W5D1 and did ok. I made sure to get out before the heat really picked up, and was able to do it exactly as called for without walking any during my run segments. I am nervous about the 8 minutes, but I'll get through it. :) I have family in town this weekend, so my schedule may get mixed up.…

  • Starting W5 tomorrow. Looking ahead to W5D3, run 20 minutes straight!?!?! OMG I'm already having anxiety over it.

  • Good luck...you will do great! I don't carry water, but I do chew gum. I know there are conflicted feelings about chewing gum during exercise, as it can fool you into thinking you're not thirsty. But it doesn't bother me...I can still tell when I need a drink. It just helps me get through a longer run without NEEDING…

  • I'm having to switch up my routine because I joined a local 5k training group where we run T-Th-Sa. I'm going to continue with C25K for distance because the new program is starting really slow...run 1 walk 2...so in 5 weeks when that is built up, I'll be done with C25K! Anyway, I'll do W4D3 tomorrow...hoping to get out…

  • Started week 4 today. It went well, but man, my breathing on the first 5 minutes was rough. Almost as if I was panicking-short, shallow breaths. I'm starting a formal training program run by Fleet Feet Sports so hopefully will get some help in the areas I struggle (speed and breathing).
  • Thanks, I saw this too late. :( I'm glad I repeated W3D1 though, because it was really rainy, and given the fall last week, I opted for a treadmill run. First time in my life (I started running 6 years ago but am not back at about square 3) I've run slower on the treadmill (even with the incline flat!) than I do outside.…
  • I'm in that boat too! :) So confused by everything I read online...I get a different recommended calorie intake on every website I visit.
  • W2D3 went well for me! No matter where I run, I can't avoid little hills so it's interesting when I hit a hill on a jog interval. All the better to make me stronger.
  • Day 2 went better, day 3 even better yet. Week 2 day 1 tomorrow, a bit nervous for that as the weekend was kind of a "welcome home" celebration. i did manage to workout so hoping that will help tomorrow. Today is a weight lifting day circuit day, then running tomorrow. Thanks for asking!
  • Finished day 1, also! Harder than I had hoped toward the end. I did a half marathon in January. In that one, we ran one minute walked one minute for almost the whole race. Hoping the next few days go a bit easier for me, but either way, happy to be back at it!
  • Well, I got my BM armband. After a few days of wearing it, I actually realize I am burning that higher number of calories. My armband says about 2400 calories burned per day. MFP was having me eat 1500 calories a day. BM is having me eat about 1660. I already feel much more comfortable with the higher number of calories,…
  • Still doing this? :)
  • Please remind me...BodyMedia is the maker of Body Bug, correct? So purchasing the BB means you have to subscribe to their online software? Thanks!
  • I'm in the same boat as you with very similar BMR and TDEE. But I'm scared ****less to eat more calories!! I guess I have to get over it and experiement for a few weeks to see if it works. But my fear is that because I have lost weight (just VERYYYY SLOWLY) at 1500 calories, and then gained when I've gone slightly over…
  • I JUST realized I didn't attach the website. Sorry! http://www.freedieting.com/tools/nutrient_calculator.htm
  • I just wish we could all remember that behind every post is not just a computer but a person. We're all here for a reason. Maybe some go about it in ways we don't agree with. Don't interact with them. But it does get frustrating to ask a question and receive rude, unhelpful remarks in place of encouragement and useful…
  • This is a great website for helping sort through some of that stuff. It shows how many grams of each macronutrient based on which type of "eating plan" you want to use. Eating plan is used loosely meaning are you looking for low carb, low fat, low cal, Paleo, etc. It also has a couple listed as "moderate" which is what…
  • Another example is real, full fat cheese vs. 2% cheese.....
  • http://www.freedieting.com/tools/nutrient_calculator.htm Great calculator that allows you to put in your calorie goal and decide what ratio of carbs/proteins/fats is best for you. Includes settings for low carb, low calorie, low fat, ketogenic, etc.
  • My goal is to lose 25 pounds by wedding day (in November). My biggest challenge is that I live 1300 miles from my fiance right now. I am a frist year teacher and am teaching high school special ed math. With a 25+ minute drive each way, by the time I get home from work and have a snack, I am pooped! For the last 4 weeks…
  • Awesome, thanks!
  • I finally made use of my book on Sunday. I only used 5 lb weights, but came up with a 35 minute arms/upper body workout that I did on Sunday. I'm still sore! Awesome. Plan to do this once a week until school is out (I'm a teacher and struggle to make time to workout (besides on Th-Su). School is out in May and then I'm…
