I recently read that a short nap (less than one hour) before 3 PM can give you energy without disrupting your nightly sleep.

"Heat may denature milk proteins. This effect is not considered a disadvantage from the nutritional point of view because it only involves changes in the specific arrangement of the casein protein. There is no breakdown of peptide linkages; therefore, casein can be considered a thermal-resistant compound. Although…

Agreed. Consuming raw milk is very dangerous. There are too many types of bacteria and bi-product that need to be eliminated- ecoli and giardia for example. Also, studies have shown that calcium can help you lose weight and milk is a great source. Milk consumption will always be a point of debate. I think if you choose to…

It has to do with the fact that cardio burns calories during your workout and for a short period afterwards (maybe an hour or two) while weight workouts can provide a burn that lasts the rest of the night and into the morning. I have the same issue due to a bootcamp I am in with kettlebells, etc. Just make sure you get…

With some fruit, like berries, don't rinse them until you use them instead of rinsing the whole package and putting it in the fridge- this can help them last longer. Also with spinach, herbs, celery, onion- after you've had them a couple days, freeze part to use in recipes later. With tomatos, you can make a puree and…

Make sure you are replacing the electrolytes you lose during exercise- you need water, a little salt and a little sugar- like in gatorade or similar products.

You can get something similar at sparkpeople.com that creates menus for you and is free and is based on healthy eating not just saving money. I think it is something you could try and then try to do on your own based on what your family likes to eat and wants to eat.

Find me a peer-reviewed articile about the effects of aspartame on brain chemistry and seizures. I have epilepsy and am an epilepsy advocate and have never come across that information, either in study or by a doctor. Also, please don't say it is "the" cause for severe seizures since seizures are in and of themselves a…

There's a saying that the only difference between toxicology (the study of poisons) and pharmacology (the study of medicines)- is the dose. How much diet pop/aspartame/splenda/_____ is bad for you? It depends. Some people have sensitivities and get migraines from artificial sweeteners for example, other people have a hard…

I would look into information about long-distance running and stomach troubles- there are a lot of factors at play - water, fiber, carbs, protein, heat, heart rate, blood sugar, medicines you are taking, vitamins you may be missing, etc

Try a kettlebell in a weight similar to a toilet. Just carry that around or do a few moves and your strength and cardiovascular system will be working.

I think a multivitamin is great. I would also suggest calcium chews if you think you might not be getting enough in your diet.

Sometimes, if you've been really "good" at meeting your calorie goals, going over one day can be a good change for your metabolism and you can see weight loss. Also, unless you ate 3500 extra calories you won't gain.
