I was on Topamax for seizures and I suffered from several side effects, one of them being decreased sweating and increased body temperature. It wouldn't surprise me that it is decreasing your endurance. I really don't how this could be remedied other than adjusting your dosage. I would talk to your physician for advice.…

Good be low blood pressure. Make sure you're getting enough sodium. And checking with a doctor couldn't hurt either.

I've logged 800 calories doing Zumba according to my HRM. It just depends on the person....

That's why they ask about your activity level! If I sat in bed = sedentary and ate only my BMR I would maintain; if I got up and ate my BMR plus my calorie expenditure via fitbit I would also maintain because you DO NOT HAVE A DEFICIT!!!

Your BMR is what you would burn if you "stayed in bed all day." This would be your calorie goal if you wanted to stay at your current weight. Since you are eating your BMR plus your fitbit calories you do not have a deficit. The MFP guided calorie goals use your BMR and your activitiy level to give you a deficit. So you…

You are using your BMR as your calorie goal. Unless you are in maintenance, you need to have a deficit.

Do you eat them with the skin? Try peeling them. I can't eat an apple with peel without extreme stomach pain.

My friend did the program and lost 100 pounds. She is doing great because she is continuing to exercise and learned portion size and how to structure meals through the need for the "Lean Green" meal I think it's called. I think the main thing is that if you choose to do the program, to stay on it for a certain amount of…

You can also get these interlocking, foam-like tiles at Sears (etc) or on Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=workout+tiles

I took Topamax for seizures, so your dosing is probably less than what I was on, but I would urge you to know the other side effects. For example, it raises your internal body temperature but decreases your ability to sweat-- basically you always feel cold and your body has no way of regulating your temp especially if you…

Oh...and the hormonal issues and the increased risk for breast cancer are scary, too.

Soy can lower the threshold for seizures (increase the likelihood of one occurring) in patients with epilepsy, Alzheimer's, and other neurologic conditions. As an epileptic I avoid it. http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/naughty-nutrition/201210/soy-and-seizures-0

After learning about the plight of the people in Peru I no longer buy or eat quinoa- although the little tails always creeped me out anyway.

It's built-up lactic acid. Increase your water, potassium, and sodium intake and make sure to stretch and massage your calves often.

Sadly, this will be hard to guesstimate since so many factors are involved including your weight, your cardiovascular involvement, intenisty, weight of kb, duration of rest between sets...I have burned around 450-600 calories per half hour doing kb according to my HRM and i weigh 255...perhaps you could borrow someone's to…

You should be able to get a resting energy expenditure/metabolism test done at your gym/ applied physiology lab. It might cost a bit ($75 +/-) but you would know where you stand. As others posted a HRM and a FitBit won't be accurate. There are more factors that need to be measured besides HR, including temperature, VO2,…

I would question the 850 just because HRMs are notoriously inaccurate for counting calories for daily activities (when you're not working out). Also, you have to calculate out what you would have normally burned during this time. A BodyBugg, FitBit, or other device can be used all day, but a HRM is really most accurate…
