Similar experience. I joined MFP two years ago. I was very excited, lost about 15lbs in two months and seemed to be on my way. Then I got tired and left. Now, I'm trying to really stick with it! My goal for right now is about 20lbs. Anyway, i sent you a friend request :)

Sorry about everything you've been going through but seriously congrats on starting your weight loss journey. I got very depressed while I was in college and I started emotionally eating. I've been off and on about losing weight and I'm hoping to stay strong and get it done this time. I'll add you, it's nice to see so many…

Also a student, life on a budget sucks. I just spent $40 on groceries today and I felt like crying :) Anyway I added you!

I'm 22 and from the US. I'll add you, so feel free to do the same. Right now, I'm concentrating on a more mini goal of a 20lb loss. More importantly, I want to start developing healthy eating habits and I want to get back in shape. And I understand the carbs struggle. It's so hard to resist :)

Hi, I'm Rose and I'm hoping to join this group. I'm a sophomore in college majoring in Economics. College is completely ruining my diet, and by college I mean my lack of control in college. Lol, this summer I was resisting ice-cream and other frozen desserts easily, one week in college and I've already ordered out like…

I just got my new scale today!! Anyway, last time I checked my weight was August 1st and I weighed 212. Today I weigh 204. It's really exciiting, I hope to get under/stay under 200 by the end of this month. Congrats to everyone who's lost weight, yall are really an inspiration. And @aetiat I hope you achieve your goal in…

I would love to join. I lost about 15lb earlier in the year and have gained most of it back so I'm looking to challenge myself. You could think about incorporating the 100 Pushup / 200 situp / 200 squats programs into your challenge since each program is supposed to take about 6 weeks.

Wow, thanks for all the suggestions. I think I'm going to end up looking for a good sports store out of town. I know someone suggested Fleet Feet, I've actually heard good things about them but they don't have a store in-state or in a 50mi radius.

My songs are always changing but I do have a couple of favorites. Right now, I'm listening to Shark in the Water by VV Brown. It's really bubbly and the perfect upbeat song for any activity. And "*kitten* You" by CeeLo Green. It's kind of ridiculous but it's fun to listen to and it's a great song to end a run to.

I would love to join this group if it's not too late. The school year has started and it's going to be so hard to keep up with any weight loss plans.

I got my podcasts from http://www.kissmyblackass.org/?page_id=86: the mp3 is made of hiphop music which is what I need for running. Just finished up my first week, I honestly don't feel like moving on to the second week, I'm already dead and gone by the end of the workout, lol.

I think we have similar weight loss goals .... although I'm not from Iowa, we could still keep this forum going and hopefully add a couple of people. Losing weight is hard so having a good support group will be great!!!

Do any of y'all use HRMs? I'm thinking of buying one but I don't want to waste money if it's not accurate. If you use one, how accurate have you found the monitor and/or calorie calculator?

Hi everyone, hope it's not too late to join the party. I'm a college student, worrying about growing up and taking full control of my life. After being overweight for so long, I've decided to make some life changes. I started this journey on March 1st and I hope to lose about 50 - 60lbs. My weight loss plan is basically…

Thanks for all the help, rice, tea and peanut butter really helped. I also thought that the T in BRAT stood for toast but I was also told by some friends to avoid bread....
