@Hearts_2015 I do alot of foam rolling on my quads... also sports massage is good but it is sooo sore ! My physio would do this during our session. I can't afford my physio anymore but I might try osteopath ( prices are better for me) as they will look at the body as a whole, as I feel other parts of my body are out of…

in regards to straps, do you mean those things you stick your feet in on the pedals?? To the OP: if you have knee pain see a physiotherapist. It could be an issue with the supporting muscles... eg with my knee I have weak glutes and tight quads so I am working on fixing that
-
make sure you drink plenty of water during the day... I find that if I don't drink enough I find it hard to draw air into my lungs when I exercise ( non smoker, no asthma)

thanks and yes I was totally oblivious to this being old, ooops !

thai boxing. and our boxing/cardio class at my thai boxing gym. I am stuffed after. it feels great though lol
-
maybe go for a walk then do some stretching after. And a long soak in the bath ( if it isn't too hot where you are, it's winter for me )

I'm sorry to hear about your husband. I do thai boxing ( I am 39 ) which is similar and I really enjoy it. It's a great workout and a lot of fun ! Lots of variation too in the classes. Lots of people of different ages at my gym. I say give it a go. They may offer classes for different levels. If you enjoy it and want to…

I don't. I don't have a Heart rate monitor, can't afford one so can't get an accurate calorie burn. Plus it's easier for me *is dim* . It's too much for my small brain if I had to eat them back I calculated my TDEE on scooby workshop to be around 1600. I just log exercise as 1 .

I didn't and now I regret it as I have a knee injury... tight quads one of the problems. Depending on the exercise, if it is thai boxing ( which I can only do 1-2 a week at the moment) I foam roll and stretch before and after. Other stuff, like walking my dogs, stationary bike , body weight stuff, I stretch and foam roll…
-
the stationary bike is good if you have knee issues. I also have a current knee issue so all I can do is the bike and body weight exercises. A lot of my issues with my knee are caused by tight quad and very weak glutes so I do a lot of foam rolling and glute strengthening exercises. But I would get it checked by a physio…
-
whatever you do, do it well !!! and my only suggestion is to warm up those glutes first, get them firing properly. Try cook hip thrust, glute bridges, clamshells , bird dogs for examples or just google " glute activation"
-
I would go to another doctor and get a second opinion,,, your current one sounds unprofessional, lazy and quite frankly has a poor attitude. I have a knee issue at the moment ( patellafemoral ) and a lot of it is due to very weak glutes and tight quads... I have been seeing a physiotherapist who has given me exercises ..…

this is a great thread, thank you everyone.. It is easier getting support even if it is online. We can all do this !

what is this challenge??

I have a couple of stretching questions: For those of us with office jobs, is it actually beneficial to be stretching the legs throughout the day, as we are sitting most of the day? If so, how often? I have a knee issue ( patellofemoral ) and I am trying to get it better so I can return to more physical activity, so I was…

I've injured my knee ( patellofemoral) and I haven't been able to do my usual thai boxing in around 6 weeks. I'm eating poorly and I can't seem to stop myself. My pants are feeling tight and I'm feeling down. All I can do is physio stuff. I'm worried my knee will be forever unstable. I was doing so well beforehand,…
-
this is very helpful, just found it while doing a search for tight quads which is what my physio said I have and the main reason behind a knee issue Hope you don't mind me asking ( lots of knowledge on this thread hence why I ask) but what stretches etc are recommended for office workers to do during the day and how often?…

I haven't worked out in over a week.... my partners Dad passed away just over a week ago so last week was full on. Aside from walking the dogs and physio exercises I didn't do any other exercise . Now I have a cold. Just can't wait to be feeling good again so I can get back into SL and my muay thai classes.. that is my…
