  • I like to put a half piece of low sodium bacon on top of each chicken breast. It only adds 20 calories & keeps the chicken from drying out in the oven, plus adds so much flavor. Just half a piece, it doesn't need to cover the whole thing. Also you can boil chicken in some chicken broth with chopped carrots, celery & onion.…
  • I just add my lentils to some sauteed onion & lots of steamed cauliflower. Then I throw in hot peppers if I have them or some curry powder. I like the idea of a lentil burger too, with lots of garlic. *Also, lentils don't need to soak overnight. They'll still cook up pretty quickly.
  • Turkey bacon is NOT bacon. Gross!
  • I like the taste of almond milk & vanilla soy but I usually get regular organic skim. The calories may be lower in almond & soy but they just don't compare with cows milk as far as protein goes.
  • LOL! I know exactly what you are talking about. Several years ago I lost over 50 pounds & it was like there was no difference in my shape & no one noticed until the last 10 pounds. I guess when you have a substantial amount to lose it shows itself slower. I've lost almost 25 pounds recently & am still wearing the same size…
  • I love to make salsa from the garden & tomatoes are perfectly ripe just now. I like it on salads instead of dressing or on eggs or in an omelet. Also you can put it on fish before you bake it or toss it in with some whole wheat pasta like a fresh tomato sauce. Cucumbers sounds like a good snacking idea too.
  • I'm not a vegetarian but I still like to make chili with just TVP & beans. Lots of veggies, tomato, onion, garlic, & hot peppers or hot sauce for flavor. I put it over a little brown rice with greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
  • You're welcome to have a look at my diary. I like to see others too, it helps with ideas so things don't get boring. I don't think there's a way to search it.
  • Good job & good luck! A photo diary sounds like a great idea.
  • One small caution, the smell of these noodles is really almost frightening until you rinse them :noway: After cooking it is totally gone though.
  • I love these noodles! I like the 'fettuccine style' wide noodles even better. Sprouts are a great idea for filler, I usually make mine with crushed tomatoes, basil, tons of mushrooms & onion & garlic. And some ground turkey or buffalo if I have it, a little goes a long way in the sauce. Thanks for the soup idea, kim chee…
  • Good luck! Depending on your height & current weight 1200 might be too low a starting point, especially if you are really feeling hungry. I agree with drinking lots of water & I like to use lots of low calorie filler foods like veggies & popcorn & skim milk all day long to make sure I never even get hungry. Feel free to…
  • Thanks for mentioning, I haven't made tofu in a while. I usually just smash tons of garlic in with some olive oil & cook with lots of veggies topped with hot sauce. Also, peanut butter thinned with some veggie broth is really flavorful; I usually add mushrooms, hot chiles & scallions to that.
  • LOL! That's hilarious but I don't know if all that plastic looks "healthier."
  • Yes! 10# in August. This will help to keep me accountable.
  • I did an Herbalife weight loss challenge & lost 15# in 6 weeks. It was a little tougher to stay motivated after the challenge ended but I'm getting back on track. & even though my progress slowed I'm still losing inches so that's encouraging. Good luck with it!

  • These are awesome for breakfast! They have more texture than instant oats which just seem like gluey mush to me. They do need to be cooked longer & then you can add yogurt, fruit, nuts or whatever you like. I would not try substituting them for instant in a cookie recipe, they are really different.
  • I live with my mom & she is the skinniest! Also she is a gourmet chef so sometimes it seems like torture not to eat the way she does. She's been very supportive since I started though & I began doing all our home grocery shopping so I wouldn't be so temped by the dishes she can think up. Good luck, add me if you like.
  • "Hungry Girl" is the brand name I find these under at my grocery. They are in a refrigerated section and I'd definitely recommend trying to find them locally before you order that many online. I use them occasionally and they're an okay substitute as long as you use a flavorful sauce. The texture is more like an Asian…
