Mapmywalk is a great idea and free!! Good idea.

You should get a fitbit. You wear it all day on your writst and it will track your steps. It's very easy to set up and use. It will sync with myfitnesspal too! You are doing a lot of walking and you should be burning a lot of calories, plus a lot of steps per day! They run around $99. I know there are some similar off…

Where would be a good starting point to learn how to begin the optimal ketosis?

I recently found out that I have several food intolerances and one of them being gluten. I have found for me that going back to the basics of eating has helped. By basics I mean, lean meats, veggies, fruits and staying away from packaged gluten free foods, unless I need a fix. I am reading a lot of websites and blogs for…

I scan (barcode on the package) most of my food with my phone and it is very convenient. When I cook a lot I usually load the recipe if I don't already know the nutrition values. You can also add new foods and load their nutritional values.

We fall off and then we get back on. You're in the right place. Feel free to add me.

Yummy!!! Great ideas. Can you come cook for me please? :)

You all are making me very hungry. Oh how I miss eggs! I have an intolerance to eggs, gluten, wheat, cows milk and several others. I will be checking here for some other alternatives. Breakfast is a challenge for me to get protein and high fiber. Thanks for all the wonderful ideas.

How do you join the gluten free community?

Rozzberry - what are you eating? I lost weight in the first two weeks and now I am stalled again. I can't figure out why! Too much sugar and/or carbs?? I need to increase my veggies, but I am picking and don't like a lot of them, so I'm trying to learn new ways to cook them and make them tasty. :) I have an intolerance to…

Read some information so you understand what it means to be gluten free, and what to look for when you read lables. The below site has some great information. It is a great starting point. http://www.celiac.com/articles/22060/1/The-Gluten-Free-Diet-101---A-Beginners-Guide-to-Going-Gluten-Free/Page1.html Good luck!

I have tried Sami's bakery Millet and Flax berry bagels. They are really good!! I have to buy them from a health food store or online. They also have a sourdough bread that is great grilled or toasted. I don't care for it as just a sandwich unless I warm up the bread in the microwave to soften it a little. Sami's also has…

Glad to see other newbies. I am reading the book now. I've been going to the gym 3x week for about 10 months. I due mostly cardio and add a few weight machines here and there. I've never lifted weights, but have always wanted to know how to and what to do. I'm exciited to begin, but also intimidated. I am really reading…

Nikki - glad to hear that it is working for you. I'm going to buy this book today. My scale hasn't moved in a long time and I am just so frustrated (i'm probably not eating enough). I work out at the gym 3x per week and do mostly all cardio, because I really don't know what strength training to do. Everyone has sold me on…

Sounds great! Thank you.

I'm just starting it for the first time and pretty nervous.

What are you doing to lose weight? Are you working out, if so, what types of workouts, how often, and what is the duration? If you are doing strength training then you could be losing inches and the scale not move.
-
Get a heart rate monitor to accurately track calories burned. Two weeks isn't ling enough so you have to have some patience. You really should take your measurements to track inches lost. If you want to reduce flap maybe strength/toning is where you should focus. Hope this helps!

I downloaded this also and just this morning tried one of the workouts, they are great and very challenging! I use my heart rate monitor to know how many calories burned! These are great workouts to have on the go while traveling.

I also do Jillian's workouts (I have the 30DS, NMTZ, and BFBM) also. Just starting thinking about getting her new one. I like the Slim Down idea, and think I may try that. Is there a certain day you do each workout? In addition to Jillian's workouts, I do the couch to 5k on our treadmill. You can run outside if you don't…

You should mix up your workout routine. Anytime you do the same workout for too long your body gets use to it. You have to add new things to surprise your body. You can change the intensity of current excercise routines and that will also help. If you are do low intensity go to high intensity. Strength training will boost…

Weight today is 165.4. I am really hoping to lose 8-10 lbs in the next 10 weeks. The weight han't been coming off very easily. I lose inches but not a lot of weight. :(

Welcome Gary and Christina!!!! Woo Hoo!!

That is so awesome and she is beautiful. You should be very proud of both of you. I too was a size 16, now a 14 and working towards a goal of 135 lbs. Her story is so motivating and really helps us keep plugging along. Thank you for sharing.

Awesome job and you really do look amazing, those are awesome before and after pics. Very inspiring. You deserve to be proud!!!

Don't weigh yourself so often. Women hold water weight, so maybe you should increase your water intake.

I would take your weight loss in a hearbeat. You are wanting results way to quickly, which is why we fail and end up putting on the weight we lost and then some. Look at the long haul, if you continue to lose 2 lbs per week, you will 36 lbs lighter by Christmas!! I started MFP in May and I have lost 5 lbs. The scale is up…
