Changing my exercise plan

I realize that my weight loss has been stalled out for a couple of weeks now. I think that I am going to need to make some changes to my exercise plan to increase the intensity. Right now, I walk and I use Wii Fit and Wii boxing. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can improve these programs?

When I had a stall, I took a week off from exercise, but continued to eat right. The next week my metabolism was rebooted and the weight started coming off again. If you don't want to take a week off, I would suggest changing up your routine. Maybe doing more of one exercise than another. Having the same routine every time you work out will also cause a stall since your body adapts to that particular workout! So change it up! Great job with the weight loss!

Stand on a resistance band (with the ends in your hands, of course) while Wii boxing. Using dumbbells and/or ankle weights for the Wii Fit (it takes some getting used to, to hold the Wii remotes and dumbbells but it can be done.

Use Google to find some good body weight strength workouts.

Well I was doing some work with the resistance band seperate from the other workouts. I would like to try your suggestion of using them with the Wii boxing, but I move around a lot when I Wii box. During the breaks and what not I'm usually walking in a circle or pacing back and forth to keep my heart rate up. Still great suggestion. I may have to retrain my brain to do the Wii boxing differently so I can incorporate that.

You should mix up your workout routine. Anytime you do the same workout for too long your body gets use to it. You have to add new things to surprise your body. You can change the intensity of current excercise routines and that will also help. If you are do low intensity go to high intensity. Strength training will boost your metabolic rate. If you zig zag your calories, it has known to work also. It keeps your body guessing. Everyone is different, so you have to play around with what will work for you.

    Good luck.
  • I stalled out for the same reason wii fit is just not up to par for me anymore (which I guess I should be happy about) - I've been using a 6 inch step for wii boxing and wii step - its good, gets me sweating, but not too good for my back so I've got biggest loser challenge and I'm going to mix it up with that if my back says its ok.
I also do HIIT on my stationary bike and that (as long as I stick to my diet) always shifts weight fast, hasn't been working so well lately because of my terrible diet - but thankfully have corrected that today (lets hope it stays that way). HIIT is awesome, I don't know how or why it works, but I've seen more changes from that than from any other exercise I've done in my life.
