my desire to exercise is actually more about being in shape than it is losing weight. I have had some weight loss success in years past with little to no exercise whatsoever but along with losing weight, I would really like to be in great shape as well! Thanks for your advice about the websites!

I am in my senior year of high school and am really pushing myself to try to get in better shape before I go off to college. I have about 50 lbs I WANT to lose, but that's not necessarily set in stone. I am in school 8 hours a day, have to go to football practice 3 days per week (I'm a team manager) and work a part time…

At 1200, I was starving constantly and wasn't losing consistently. At 1400, I am doing much better.

I know this may sound ridiculous but try it - eat junk food for a day. eat whatever you want. if it goes over your calories by 200 or 300, so be it. Every time I plateau, I do this and I will immediately drop AT LEAST a pound and most of the time, more. often times, I will even begin to GAIN BACK for some strange reason at…

I am, not even just to meet my goals but simply because I like strength training lol

LOVE THIS! this is so true. Its not about an appearance. Most people would not be attracted to my boyfriend. He is a very stocky build with a few extra lbs. and has a large scar on his stomach from a birth defect but I love him for who he is as a person rather than what he looks like, and to me, anyway, he is still the…

I wish now that I had taken measurements to begin with. it hadn't occurred to me until well after I started but it would be very interesting to see if they were any different.

that really put things in perspective for me!

I have seen myself gain as many as 7 lbs. over the course of a day (morning to night) and as many as 2.5 from morning to morning. My weight so heavily fluctuates that I weigh myself on a daily basis (I know people are going to say its a bad idea to weigh daily but it helps me to pick up better on trends on how my weight…

I am currently at a 12 in jeans and L/XL depending on the top. I border between a D and DD. It amazes me the differences in people. I saw several posts of people smaller than me in larger jeans.

don't be concerned at all. Most people gain anywhere from 3-5 lbs. from the start of the day to the end. step on the scales tomorrow and see if you have gone back down.

I personally like somebody with a little meat on their bones. if you're gonna cuddle up, there's gotta be something to hold on to! but to me, its not so much about that as it is about their personality and the way they treat others.

I totally understand what she is going through. I am a few years older than her but have fought with my weight for years. I am 5'2" and currently at 175 after 6lbs of weight loss so far. If she feels uncomfortable with her body, motivate her to make a change :) The dance classes will certainly help if she is not very…

DON'T GIVE UP! :) for 3 days this past week, I ate straight crap because my BF gave me chocolates for Valentines. We all fall off the wagon every now and then but just dust off your knees and climb back on! You can do this! You just have to stay motivated :) edit: remember, tomorrow is a new day! don't get down over one…

me too, girl! to be totally honest, I don't have a set in stone weight goal - I just want my body to be toned and to have achieved a healthier lifestyle. If I did set a weight goal though, it would be about 145 (30 lbs from my current weight) and then decide where I wanted to go from there :)

I just laughed hysterically. This is 100% true. My boyfriend always knows without even bothering to ask because I turn into pure evil.

while I weigh less than the OP, my first day at the gym was this past Monday. you are definitely right about the not walking in skinny and buff. it does take hard work but it is also nice to be able to look at those around me and say "that's where I want to be". In my opinion though, OP, if you feel comfortable, Go for it!…

my gym actually has an entirely separate womens weight room which I really like for that reason. I'm fine with running in front of the guys but I feel awkward lifting in front of them.

push your bangs away from your eyes a little

I don't choose a certain day to cheat - if I go over my calories, I just do. For example, yesterday, I went about 250 calories over (it was Valentines Day, you cant hate me for it) but today, I just have to stick to my goals again. I haven't had problems getting back on track after cheat days at all.

it is possible - I have lost 6lbs. in 10 days eating 1200 calories (gone over the limit 2 or 3 days for various reasons but not by a whole lot) and working out about 1/2 of that amount of time. (the first week, I wasn't doing hardly any exercising) It all just depends on your body! :)

Thank you! :)

I got one for taco bell. NEVER searched taco bell in my life.... but it's my personal favorite. temptation at its finest lol

SO happy for you! I hope to have the same amount of success you have! Keep up the good work! :)

never said a word about wanting to be "young" again, and certainly not "single". If she is anything like me, it wouldn't be about ego - it would be about self esteem. Also, my boyfriend tells me constantly that he loves me just the way that I am - all 175 or so lbs. of me. He has told me repeatedly that I did not have to…

Frankly, I would be impressed if any woman wanted to be with a sexist pig like you. And it is her choice to what Ob/Gyn she uses. Seriously, would you rather her see an inexperienced and unqualified female than a highly qualified male?
-
I would just like to point out that about 50% of the Ob/Gyn doctors in my area are male. It is very common for women (of any age) to see male gynecologists and obstetricians. Were it not for a MALE Ob/Gyn, chances are, I would not be alive today. Plus, the large majority of women do not take their first visit to an Ob/Gyn…
