And, the final results for my 1st ever 5K.... 44:54!!!! Kept an average pace of 14:58 even though my first mile was probably at 11-13. YAY me and YAY for anyone else who is still making it through their C25K program!!!

WOW! WTG, Dhathri!!! I am trudging through the end of my week 4. I still am having a hard time with W4 (can't quite finish the final 5 minute run) so I am going to hang out at this week until I feel comfortable with moving on. I am working about 45-55 hours a week right now, busy with March Madness, and am doing my best to…

I just checked out the website and WOW... Once you hit week 5 you are pretty much off and running! My podcast is set to music, with voice prompts that tell me when to walk and when to run. The music is dance/electronic/techno/ which is nice because it doesn't get old and with it being a fast pace, it keeps me going. What…

Holla at cha, Dhathri! Congrats on beginning week 4! I just finished W3D2 and feel really good. My running is similar to yours now that I see it laid out. When I did W3D1 I was shocked that it only had 2 intervals of 3 min runs (there were 90 sec runs throughout). So, for my final day, I may try to modify it... However, I…

I just completed W3, D1 and am super pumped... Except for me having to make a mad dash to the locker room to go to the bathroom (Damn eggs and peppers for breakfast). But, I am beginning to think that my C25K is different if yours has you doing a 15 min run... I do not think I have the stamina for that and am a little…

I have to agree... Once you start moving, the weight will move too! I lost about 10 lbs just monitoring my intake... Then, it all leveled off. I thought, "Hey, go DO something!" and have started working out 3x per week. Since then, lost another 9 and hope to keep it going. Yay for everyone who is reaching for their goals!…

I registered for a 5K that is on April 9th as well. It is in St. Louis, MO for the Go! St. Louis Fitness Fun Weekend.

I finished W2, D2 on Monday... Gonna do W2, D3 tomorrow... I think I am starting to A) get sick B) exhausted from this past weekend C) not enough aqua consumption because I was super tired after W2, D2 and was perfectly fine on W2, D. All I know is I am still going strong!!!!

Dhathri, Cold, Schmold! All kidding aside, I went out this afternoon for my week one day one. I live in St. Louis, so the temp is around 20-30 and the ground is covered in about 6-10 inches of snow. I went to a local park in the city that had the bike/walk/run track plowed and I was surprised to see so many people out…

I DID IT! I began the C25K program! I am super happy about this because I set a goal to begin training for a 5K and I began reaching that goal today. I am going walking with a friend tomorrow and will resume week one day two on Wednesday (I figured my training will be on Wed, Fri, and Sun). I am a bit disappointed though.…

Thanks for the info! I know I need to get a new pair of tennis shoes (I love my Mizunos!) and I will look into getting some support in them. Does anyone have any recommendations for arch supports? Can I get something basic like "Dr. Scholl's" or do I need something on a more professional grade?

I downloaded a pod cast of a C25K program when I originally started. I am NOT fond of the music and it doesn't do a 5 minute warm-up. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Unfortunately, there is no sneak peek. The videos are from personal trainers within a studio room. I am going to see what I can find out about it, but it may be difficult since it is a membership-based system.

I attempted the C25K a couple months ago. When I began my first day, I started getting terrible pains in the front of my calves/shins about 1/4 of the way through the program. I stretched really well before starting, I was not going that fast (maybe the pace of a fast walk), and it felt like someone put their hand inside…

Look at that!!!! I know you can see the beautiful woman in that photo. BOTH OF THEM! Only now, you are well on your way to a healthier you :) Congrats and keep it up!

I had a similar situation this morning. I've had a pair of jeans that I LOVE and recently, have been having to SQUEEZE myself into. Today, I put them on for the first time in about one month, and they slid right up and buttoned without me have to do a dance. I haven't lost a ton of weight, only 5ish pounds, but what a…

Lookin' good my lady! You can totally see a difference, and I hope that you continue on your journey to a better/healthier life!

You are absolutely doing the right thing. YOU are making a change in your life and the women around wish they had your courage. What I have done, when faced with negativity, is use that as motivation. Let their negative energy inspire you to be positive and make positive changes. I have been in a somewhat similar…

Congrats on all of your successes. I know I am quite new here to MFP (one week strong!) and I am quite happy to have the people who are giving me encouragement. It is nice to be able to come to a social network where everyone's goal is the same... To become healthy. Sure, we all want to lose weight, inches, etc.; but the…

I saw the 30 day shred on my exercise tv (on demand through at&t u-verse)... It started with week one yesterday, and I am wondering how many weekly videos there will be available. I'd hate to start it and then it not be available anymore...

I normally always eat a med/large salad for dinner (I may be forgetting to log those) and some other type of vegetable. I usually take more vegetable in, so thanks for noticing that I need to increase... Any and all help, advice, motivation, etc. helps!

Height: 5'4 Weight: 219 Activity level: Sedentary (at work) and the plan is to exercise 4 times per week for at least 45-60 minutes. Hope that helps! :)

Ok, now it is public... Hey, I've got nothing to hide, right? :)

My food diary should aleady be viewable. If not, please let me know. One thing for sure, I need to cut back on the sugar (but I <3 fruit!)

I am quite torn on this issue. My boyfriend SWEARS by using butter instead of margarine spreads. I am a believer in more natural foods; butter is simple: cream, salt, and thats about it. Spreads however are loaded with things in the label that I cannot pronounce. But it is sooooo appealing to pick up the lower cal/ lower…

Thanks for the link. I just downloaded all of the c25k podcasts and hopefully, within the week, I'll have new shoes and be on my way to the 5k!!!

So, exactly how did you burn 15K calories in less than one month?
-
Congratulations and keep it up. I think there are going to be quite a few people borrow the calorie burned concept... <3 it!

I am proud of what I accomplished today. After work and dinner, I went on a 1 hour walk and did three miles. I am proud of this mostly because the neighborhood I live in is rather hilly and I am practically walking at an incline the entire time. I also was able to jog for about one minute; simply testing myself to prove I…
