  • Vega One will not "help take weight off". Vega One is a good quality shake for vegans, that is all. I use the chocolate one with almond milk, greek yogourt and a banana when I need a fast, nutritious lunch. There is no such thing as a shake that will help you lose weight. Drinking it because you think you will lose weight…

  • Do not rely on packaging for calorie counts, though tend to be notoriously low. Also cups measure wrongly too. Weighing is the only sure way. If you have lost 3.5 stone, you clearly do not have a metabolic issue, the problem is now that you are closer to your goal you have less room for mistakes in calorie counting.
  • If you are 300 pounds and you are trying to lose 10 pounds it is way easier than if you are 140 trying to lose 10 pounds. You just do not have the same wiggle room with calories. You already get to eat fewer calories and chances are you already work out. If it takes 3000 calories a day to maintain 300 pounds and 1600 to…
  • Mouth breather here too. When I run with friends we chat the whole way. When I run alone I try to sing along to something. If you cannot catch your breath you are going to fast. Maybe look at an interval running app like 5k runner. They build up very slowly to 5k and have defined intervals.
  • You can very easily gain weight "eating clean". Eat too much of any food and you will gain. No weight gain and you are basically eating at maintenance calories.
  • Now the kids are bigger, hubby and I rarely eat breakfast and lunch together. Once in a while we will go for a long walk to a resto, eat and then walk back home. That is a great way to connect and both be hungry at the same time. We plan dinner for the same time most nights and eat together. Maybe you need to find a small…
  • What vegetable can you eat? Can you eat any veg as long as it is cooked? Easier to help you if we know what you can eat, rather than what you cannot.
  • Are you weighing the food you eat? Because the only way you can be gaining weight is because you are eating more calories than your body needs. Eyeballing or guesstimating food portions is really hopeless, you need to weigh. Not with measuring cups or spoons or by reading the packaging. As a way to save money, buy in bulk,…
  • If I have ice cream in the house I will eat it, so no ice cream in the house. Once in a while I will go out for ice cream, really good ice cream. I keep bars of dark lindt chocolate in the house, I eat one square a day after lunch, I can do this with no problems and never binge on the bars I have stashed. Pretty much…
  • How many meals you eat a day does not matter. How many calories you eat a day really matters.
  • I have a friend who was massively overweight, obese, fat. Whatever you want to label it. She said it is better to own the labels that fit you, than to allow others to label you. So she said she was fat and it was fine. Though one day it stopped being fine, and she lost over 50% of her bodyweight, became and Ironman and…
  • Yeah, I was just seeing supportive partner. No wonder people do not like posting on forums.
  • Really? Overweight is not fat? Do you mean overweight is not obese by the government BMI guidelines?
  • My hypoglycemia can get spiked very easily and crash very easily. If I don't eat enough it will become very low.[/quote] Well there's your answer, you need to eat more. Set your MFP to lose 1lb a week and work out some to get more calories. Surely that will give you more than 1300 a day to eat. Spread your meals out…
  • What are your stats? Maybe you are cutting way too much. How tall? How much do you weigh? How much are you trying to lose a week? Honestly on 1300 cals I am ready to eat carpet and feel like crap.
  • I am the poster mentioned who's TDEE is 1850. That is the number I am given by online calculators. I am 5'6" and 140 pounds. I run 30k a week and probably briskly walk about the same. I lift some weights, but not often this year for a few reasons not health related. So despite being pointed out as probably inactive, I am…
  • It does not matter what she eats, for weight loss purposes, but how much she puts in her mouth on a daily basis. Clean can be still too much food. Junk can still be too little. Eating clean means absolutely nothing when it comes to weight loss. She could eat two big macs a day and still lose weight. Now she might feel…
  • I am 5'6" and 140lbs, maintenance for me is 1850 cals. I think she is probably eating at maintenance and so has stopped losing. Get her to drop to 1450cals a day for a month and see how that goes. Of course she gets to eat back exercise calories if she wants. The smaller you get the less food you get to eat. It is what…
  • I use this one too, or their choc a lot smoothie powder. Both are easy on the stomach and whey/soy free.
  • If you are really only eating 900 calories a day you would be losing weight. Do you weigh, on a food scale, the food you eat? Do you you log all drinks? 900 calories a day is not enough for you to live on.
  • Based on this logic how do people starve to death in times of famine? The less you eat the smaller you get, it is that simple. Not losing weight? Chances are you are eating more than you think.
  • How did you manage to gain weight then? I never get these posts.
  • I guess when you change everything you eat as opposed to just eating less of the food you regularly eat then this happens. When I need to lose a few pounds I just reduce portions sizes, but eat the same foods.
  • Oops I meant cannot. I am assuming that the OP is not overweight, because how could she be if she is a light eater and is not hungry? So I am also assuming she has no weigh to lose and just wants to tone her body.
  • GO to the gym to tone, do not cut calories to tone. You can spot lose weight through calorie cutting.
  • Sometimes when people give me tons of junk as gifts I give it away or sometimes I throw it away. I know I cannot keep that stuff in the house without eating it, so I just remove the temptation. I do eat a treat or two every day, but there has to be a limit if it does not fit in my daily calorie goals.
