  • I'm getting ready to start an at-work WW program as well. Our first meeting is 1/29 and runs for 17 weeks. As long as we attend 15 of the 17 meetings our work is paying for the total cost so I thought I'd give it a shot!
  • This is an old post I realize. Are you still doing 5:2? I did it last year and I plan to start back up in preparation for the holidays. I do best when I skip breakfast (but I still have coffee), then I eat chicken breast or salmon with steamed vegetables for both lunch and dinner. I get low blood sugar and jittery when I…
  • I just started this week as well. I've never been a runner. I HATE running, but I don't want to hate it! I have weird conditions such as horrible itching legs when I run and shin splints terribly but I want to try to work through it. So this week I've completed day 1 and 2 of week 1 and I plan to do day 3 tomorrow morning.…
  • I haven't read the other responses but I recently started the "8 hour diet" for this very reason. I kept snacking and eating at night when I wasn't even hungry. So now I eat between the hours of 11:30-7:30. You wouldn't have to only eat in an 8 hour period but I have to give myself a set time that I can no longer eat…
  • Lost about 2 pounds last week but gained a pound back this week. I didn't overeat on non-fast days at all so I'm thinking it's just normal weight fluctuations. I weigh every morning so hopefully in a day or two it will go back down. I have less than 10 pounds to lose so I figure it might take awhile.
  • I'm trying to eat between 1400-1600 on non-fast days. I haven't figured my TDEE in awhile but I think it was right around 1900-2000. Like you, I have a hard time eating that many calories when I'm tracking my food and making healthy choices. Sure I can easily eat that if I have one "splurge" meal a day and on the weekends…
  • This is my first week on 5:2. I am down 1.2 pounds. Not sure how accurate that is since I'm almost always up towards the beginning of the week and down on Fridays even before doing this but next week should give me a better idea. I would like to lose at least 11 more pounds.
  • First week on this diet, my second fast will be tomorrow. My normal fast days will be Mondays and thursdays unless we have something planned that particular week. I need to lose another 10-15 pounds to get to my initial goal weight (and then I'll re-evaluate). Would love to get there by the end of this challange! So glad…
  • www.fitnessblender.com This is the website I was telling you about earlier. Also, if you wanted, you could totally do P90x. I did it several years ago and I was really out of shape when I started. It was hard but they have one person who does the "easier" exercises and I followed her and it was very doable. All you need…
  • I didn't read other responses so I'm probably repeating. I would just do your exercise and eat a healthy dinner and its not the end of the world to be over on calories one day. That being said, when I need a good low calorie dinner I always have salmon and veggies. I buy these frozen wild caught salmon filets and one of…
  • Should also mention I've lost 10 pounds since I got the IUD in February. That was due to hard work and dieting, not due to the IUD itself but it didn't keep me from losing weight or make me gain any.
  • I was on birth control for years (just a generic, can't even remember the name) and I didn't have any issues with it except I couldn't remember to take it. I got the Mirena IUD because last year it would've cost me $900 out of pocket but this year it was covered 100% because of the changes in insurance (you should check in…
  • My favorite is Vitamin water zero (Go-Go flavor). This is the one and only flavor of this that I like. I recommend it to everyone who doesn't like the other flavors because I don't either. It's sweetened with stevia (or truvia) so it's a natural sweetener.
  • I just very recently cut way back on the diet soda. Now I drink coffee in the morning (usually with splenda or stevia, I prefer the taste of spenda, even though it's not as good for you), then I usually have a vitamin water zero with lunch (stevia is the sweetener, I only like the Go-Go flavor). The rest of the day I drink…
  • Losing weight has been hard for me too, so I feel your frustration. But my weight often fluctuates as much as 3 or more pounds from one week to the next, even when I stick to my calorie goal each day. There is NO way yours was a real gain with the amount of calories you ate so likely if you continued eating the way you are…
  • Sorry, I obviously don't know how to quote. you can't be "tested" for hypoglycemia because typically you aren't always hypoglycemic. The only way to know for sure is to have your sugar tested right when you are having the symptoms. Otherwise, it won't tell you the full picture. I have normal blood sugar most of the time…
  • I'm 5'4" also and have a goal of 140 as well. I might want to get to 135 but not any lower. But I know when I first get to that weight I still probably won't be happy with how I look but at that point I want to just really work on turning fat to muscle and toning up. In high school I was 115-120 but my body changed SO…
  • Anything mixed with diet soda. My personal favorite is red stag and diet coke. I believe around it's also 69 calories for the red stag, 0 for the diet coke. Sugar free red bull and vodka is also an option. Also wine is not too bad if you like wine. Most glasses are around 120-130 calories. Light beer is always an option…
  • I just recently cut my hours back from 50-55 a week down to 40 so that helps. But my husband works second shift so everything is one me when I get from from work. I get home at 4:15 most nights, I have to immediately start dinner so we can eat and be back out the door by 5:30-5:45 for wrestling practice, gymnastics or…
  • I'm trying to lose 22 more pounds to get down to 140. I could use more support as well so feel free to add me!
  • Hungry Girl's Buffalo Chicken Chili was one of the best soups I've ever made. And healthy too! The whole family loved it...esp. with the little bit of blue cheese sprinkled on at the end. Did not taste healthy at all but it is! http://www.hungry-girl.com/weighin/show/2446
  • NM, I see this is starting today. I may start today too but will be out of town this weekend :)
  • Halloween candy :/ But as far as GOOD foods, Chiobani apple cinnamon greek yogurt. I add some extra cinnamon, SO good. And I have never liked yogurt but really have developed a taste for this. I recommend everyone try this flavor!
  • I'd go with the 6oz sirloin with steamed veggies, salad with light dressing. Avoid the rolls or limit yourself to one (as hard as that is! I love their rolls and cinnamon butter!) Enjoy!
  • No, Sirloin is one of the leaner cuts of steaks. If it is trimmed of all visable fats then I believe it's around 55 calories an ounce. There is usually minimal marbling in sirloin so the only fat to trim is along the outside. With 1/8" fat it is around 75 calories an ounce (I looked this up awhile ago from several websites…
  • Turkey Reuben's here (super easy and something different). (two slices of thin rye bread, one slice of swiss cheese, turkey breast, saurkraut, light thousand island dressing grilled on the george foreman grill) Came up to approx. 300-350 calories and it was really good and a nice break from my normal chicken breast and…
  • I have been successful at low carb in the past and am currently doing semi-low carb. When I am doing low carb a sample diet for me is Breafast-eggs and sausage or bacon, coffee with half and half lunch-grilled chicken salad (vegetable salad, cheese, grilled chicken, eggs, full fat/low carb dressing) Dinner-a meat (grilled…

  • I have one of the earlier version of the nook and love it. It's a little on the heavy side but the new ones are lighter. To me reading on the screen isn't any different than a book page. I wouldn't want one of the ones with the shiny screen though.
