I love to read (imagine that, I'm an English teacher), but I just haven't caught on to e-books yet. Might have to look into it if I ever get like an i-pad or something. Thanks for sharing.

I would have to agree with Gigi, you stick to your plan and you will come out farther ahead in the long run. Keep YOUR goal in mind.

Spectacular!!!!!!! You should be sooooo proud of yourself!

If I were you,I would go ahead, get some body measurements and use those as a baseline. You should measure yourself about every four to six weeks.

I would recommend pantyhose or nylon sock liners under the hiking socks. I did 22 miles in a weekend with no blisters (35 lb full pack), now I don't leave home any other way. Also make sure you have moleskin in your pack in case you do get blisters. Band Aid now has special blister bandages that are SUPPOSED to be real…

I can totally relate. I used to teach Home Economics foods classes. When your teaching those you HAVE to taste what the kids are doing to know if it is right or not, plus I still love to cook at home and constantly taste test. It's the only way I know to make sure its done right, but miserable on the calorie counts!

Probably useless information, BUT a liter of water weighs about 2.2 lbs, so I would think that water loss would be a good explanation. To figure fat loss, take body measurements, if those are going down, your really heading in the right direction!

UMMM so many things to think about How long will you be gone? What type of terrain? What gear do you already have? What is the weather predicted to be like? Good rule of thumb: The more I take with me, the more I like camping. The less I take with me, the more I like hiking. Try this website for starters, if you have any…

I use oxy clean and let the clothes soak anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes, depending on our activities. We went hiking, white water rafting, and speelunking last summer, and not a single hotel had laundry facilities, so nothing got washed for about 5 days. I'll leave the aroma up to your imagination, but you could smell…

awesome, especially the links! Bump!

protein shake and/or sourdough pretzels. read a book or do something else to occupy your mind and time, I like going for walks at night with my husband.

Go to this website: http://caloriecount.about.com/cc/recipe_analysis.php type in all the ingredients and the number of servings and it will give you your calorie counts. Time saving tip: put the dough in the freezer for 30 minutes and it is ready to roll. I do it every year with my gingerbread and sugar cookies. The recipe…

I'll join in on this!!

Thanks for the prayers countrymama08. Truly appreciated. Well, our first marking period ends on Friday. It's been a little bit of a rough ride, but not too bad overall. How is everyone doing?

I guess I was thinking about it as a milk substitute because of the whey protein in it. I hadn't thought of it as a wheat substitute. Thanks!

No matter how much training you recieve or how long you have been teaching, NOTHING can prepare you to handle the death of a student. The stepfather of one of my students that I had last year and again this year killed her and her entire family early this morning. I am on autopilot right now just trying to make it through…

How's everyone doing????? I hope you are all doing a good job staying out of the teacher's lounges!

I think we are all in together for support and to prevent stress eating. STAY OUT OF THE LOUNGE!!!!!! I hope everyone else gets off to a great start as well!

New school year is off to a great start!!!! Good kids, great admin. I felt more prepared this year than I ever have on the first day of school.

Well, I started back today, the rest of the teachers start on Wednesday, but I wanted to get my room moved and started settling in. We only get 4 days pre-school, and one to two days are in-service. We get students on the 17th. Already busy with starting yearbook and school newspaper as well.

Just do the best you can, stick to the nutrition guide, and go for it. Find the P90X starting a new thread part 19 chat group. It is an awesome experienced bunch! Welcome to the group, I'll see you there!

I totally hear you! I hated sports in high school too. My epiphany was when I could not keep up with my kids on a scouting trip and decided that would change. I feel so much better when I get even a short workout done!

I like making Pita or flatbread pizzas. I use toufayan whole wheat pitas or Flatout Flatbread, make my own sauce ( small can of tomato sauce, 1/2 tsp minced garlic or garlic powder, a little basil and a little oregeno) and whatever toppings I want. It tastes great and is much healthier than take out.

MFP told me 1200 as well. I went to the tools section and looked up my BMR, which is about 1400, or the minimum number of calories I need if I just sit on the sofa all day (literally). If I work out, then I make sure that I stay just under that calorie count. You want to make sure that you do eat the exercise calories. If…

Go to realsimple.com and click on the fitness and exercise section. They have a whole series of exercises, most of which can be done in 15-29 min, that target specific body areas and don't require weights.

I make a chocolate protein shake. Satifies the sweet cravings just a little and holds me over till breakfast. Better than any carb based snack.
-
I usually try to stick to a 40% carb, 40% protein, 20% fat ratio. It's worked well for me so far.

You might want to add sodium to your nutrient counts, if you haven't already. I also use very little salt when cooking, look on the web (cooking ight.com, cooks.com, allrecipes.com) for great marinade and rubs for your meats. I also use Beau Monde sesoning when pan frying or broiling meats. It's made by Spice Islands. Good…

I usually measure 1/4 cup add enough water to cover and then let them soak while I sleep. Nuke for maybe 45 sec, add a little peanut butter and vanilla protein powder, or you can add applesauce(unsweetened or cinnamon). It's great and take a lot less time to make in the morning.
