  • I use a detox solution from a company called Native Remedies. You just add 16-18 drops to a glass of water three times a day. Eat well and exercise. I have had great success with it and start seeing results within two to three days. You can order online and shipping is pretty quick.
  • WWWHHAAATTTT!!!! No hours, minutes, and seconds???
  • I have had great success purchasing from Campmor, even returns have been very easy.
  • I find that if I plan all my meals and snack ahead of time and then just stick with it, I do a lot better. The trick is, STICKING TO THE PLAN!!! I also make a detailed to do list so I can keep my mind off of food and focused.
  • 15 Days and counting for me. Getting another new principal again next year. Rumor mill running crazy right now.
  • I've gotten to where I have a protein shake mid-afternoon or just before I leave school. It's usually just enough to tie me over to supper. I usually leave school at 4:30 and we eat supper about 6:30.
  • I know what you mean about the school lunches. I think that is what has killed me over the past month. I just didn't have time to make my own lunch every day.
  • Soundsto me likethe kid is playing Mom for the total fool that she is. I would document anything and everything related to this kid and keep in mind that Karma really exists, and move on to the kids that are worthwhile.
  • Sorry I have been MIA for a while, but state testing, one school yearbook, one high school graduation, one Eagle Scout Court of Honor, one summer camp, and five pounds gained back, I'm finally back! Whew!!!! What a spring. I am soooooooo ready for summer.
  • Yeah, that's what I think also. I read to the kids and ask questions as we go along and really discuss the story. The kids love it, I guess in the end as long as I can justify what's best to myself andthe parents, then it's all good. I have no intention of stopping. I have fought this battle once before and I'll do it…
  • I teach intenisve reading and read aloud to the kids for at least 10 min everyday. TONS of research from my master's classes on the benefits of interactive read alouds to low-level readers out there. I was just told to stop reading the books and focus exclusively on test preparation. Just a little upset right now.
  • I have a question: Has anyone else been harrassed by admin about FOLLOWING best practices in their classroom? It's happened to me twice in the past few weeks. :noway:

Will be looking for another one this weekend to move a travel bug. Your right, its very addictive. Another cool thing is to try and find…

  • My school is currently running a fitness challenge that is sposored by one of our coaches. everyone is issued a pedometer and we tally our steps everyday for 8 weeks. Every Thursday we send our weekly totals so we can see how we are doing against our teammates and the other teams. It's a lot of fun and brings a lot of…

  • Take a deep breath and always remember your the adult in the room  Actually the best advice I was ever given was to treat the students the way you would want you onw chilcren to be treated, and have the same expectations from them you would have for your own children. It hasn't led me wrong yet! Good luck, and use…
  • Wow, a little down time and we become chatty cathys. I talked earlier about my district going to a standardized curriculum. • One Eagle Scout Project done this weekend!!!!!!! He just needs to finish two partial merit badges and he's done!!!!! It was so much fun, just 10 of us on a barrier island for the whole night, spiders and strange bugs galore! Not much trick or treating this year, we were all too tired, which is great for the diet.
  • WOW!!! Is everybody getting this busy already???? My district had this idea that all the classes in all the school in all the county should be covering the same lesson on the same day at the same time. Guess what???? They just changed their mind and recinded the initiative when this month's school board meeting had over…
  • I won a $500 literacy grant last year. The biggest thing is don't be intimidated by them, they are not as hard to write as everyone seems to think. Give good background info about your school and student population. Then explain how the money will benefit the students, and how you plan to track the whole program. Mine took…
