  • I found, for me, that eating a real meal before I go. Its amazing how full you are so you don't think about snacking. And always remember the calories from the snacks and drinks you are putting into your body. Chew gum, it helps as well. Good luck.:flowerforyou:
  • I've lost a bale of hay, but that's okay I didn't need it any way. I loved this, thank you for the laugh!:flowerforyou:
  • I like to weigh once a week. I weigh only first thing in the morning after going to the bathroom. I only weigh on one scale and use that weight only. (Otherwise you wil go crazy with the different weights.) Good Luck.:flowerforyou:
  • Congrats on your reality check. Keep in mind this is a marathon and not a sprint. Go slow to begin and things will come easier to you. If you go slow and do your research you will be successful. Remember the healthy body you achieve will be worth it. Good Luck!:flowerforyou:
  • I also believe the numbers are arbitrary. My main goal is to be healthy, regardless of weight. Congrates on your status and happiness -- you deserve it.:flowerforyou:

  • Anywhere you use ground beef, you can use ground turkey. My husband and I have found that we make spaghetti with ground turkey, spaghetti squash and our own spaghetti sauce. It is so good!!!
  • You need to get an HRM (heart rate monitor). I have a Garmen 305 and I love it and I wear it during my yoga. Do your research before buying one though. Good luck.:flowerforyou:
  • Attitude, Attitude, Attitude. It is very important and you seem to have a very positive attitude and that will get you far on your journey. I also accept the fact that I mess up and eat too much or don't exercise. Tomorrow is a new day and a new start to my journey. I have been able to accept the fact that everyone messes…
  • Keep in mind he is a doctor, not a nutritionist. Doctors do not have a lot of training in nutrition and, therefore, in my opinion, are not the best qualified to speak on nutrition. I do firmly believe in not going under 1200 calories with or without exercise because your body will go into starvation mode and you will stop…

  • I have the real Sketchers and I LOVE them. I have been wearing them now for over 6 months and I will not wear any other shoe. I don't care that they are not "cute." I want them to be comfortable. I can exercise in them, walk, stand all day, whatever. I don't think they "tone" like they claim, however. But the bottom of my…
  • Awesome! Awesome!:drinker: :flowerforyou:
  • The difference is what you have put into your mouth: drink and food and what leaves the body. That can account for the difference. I only weigh once per week on my scale, first thing in the morning after going to the restroom. That is the only weight I am ever concerned with. :flowerforyou:
  • After reading your post, I did some research and I think I will give this a try. It will definitely take the boredom out of exercise for me. Because I have a wonderful husband, I will have a good coach to help me out with this. Thank you for the info!:drinker:
  • Welcome and good luck on your journey. You will find this site a great benefit!:flowerforyou:

  • I've learned on this journey of mine that the true way to losing weight and keeping it off, is to eat healthy always. No shakes or drinks teach you how to eat healthy, portion controlled meals. I know some people have success, but I have never heard of anyone having long term success and that is why we are all here. Good…
  • Awesome     :drinker:
  • My husband and I use Butter Buds. It takes exactly like butter, with no cals!:flowerforyou:
  • My husband bought me a Garmen 305 and added a pedometer. I have not tried it out yet, but I love my Garmen!
  • You need to track your food AND exercise. You need to eat your exercise calories (at least some, if not all), otherwise your body will think it is starving and will not lose any weight. Give it a try. Good luck to you.:flowerforyou:
  • You are my new hero! It's people like you that keep me going on this very long journey. Thank you!:flowerforyou:
  • I would also love to see some recipes with these foods. Does anyone know how to add pumpkin to oatmeal for breakfast?
  • I had to learn how to eat healthy because I had to take potassium pills because of the blood pressure medication I was also on. When I searched on the internet for high potassium foods I discovered fruits and veggies were the only way. I look on the internet for sights that have recipes that are low cal. I try not to eat…
