  • You see...with so many positive comments and ideas you shouldn't be depressed anymore as you already have a lot of online friends behind you. Go for it! :flowerforyou:
  • Well done on your first of many successes :drinker: :flowerforyou:
  • Yay well done for not only doing so well but for not being one of these people who seem to jump on the scales every other hour
  • Don't be surprised if you get to that weight, look in the mirror and say "You know what, I'm looking and feeling so much better so why stop here?"
  • This was an excellent post on why drinking alcohol stops fat burning.... http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/62997-the-alcohol-question?hl=alcohol&page=1%23posts-1257147
  • Very nice post! I know I could not have achieved my goal without this site so I am very glad I stumbled across it
  • Yo Yoi'ng is mixing up your calorie intake and exercise routines. Your body is waaaaaaay too clever at getting used to routines and will fairly quickly adapt to set routines which slows down the weight loss. Calorie Yo-Yo If you need 1500 a day eat that one day, go a couple of hundred under the next day and the next day go…
  • Well done you! :flowerforyou: The closer you get the more motivated you get and believe me when I say it just gets better and better the closer you reach your goal
  • Add me too if you like. This site and the support of the people here helped me achieve everything I wanted so it can be done :flowerforyou:
  • This site really offers you an excellent chance of achieving it! Your mind set has to be firm and if I were you I would set yourself goals and rewards as you reach each target. The hardest part is the first month but it does get easier as your lifestyle changes. Exercise is so important as it makes your body stronger while…
  • As someone who has hit their goal weight let me say that Barbiecat's quote is 100% spot on! I have nothing left to lose and although the journey was hard (especially the last 10lb) it has also been fasinating and an amazing voyage of discovery about me and my body. I have nothing to prove but this has always been a…
  • I had a month long plateau as well and it wasn't until I started yo-yoing my food and exercise that it started going down again.
  • Worst thing was no photos of me with my kids because I hated my weight. Best thing - having the energy to not only keep up with them but to outlast them
  • Getting to your goal weight is just the beginning of the fun  I'm the same as you, I am constantly pushing my myself harder and for longer. Few weeks ago I was running 5k a night, now it's 12k a night and each week the incline gets higher, the distance gets further or the speed gets faster. I am truly fascinated as…
  • Welcome aboard an amazing site! Feel free to add me also
  • Not if it is building your muscle. I thought I wasn't losing weight but when I measured my waist I was still losing. I had a fair bit of fat on my legs but now it is solid muscle. The leg muscle is huge so that was quite a weight increase (from fat to muscle).
  • I really went for it on the Elliptical last night (covered 10k in 49 mins on level 10, I'm 39, 140lb) and I still only burned 600 Cal according to my HRM. A HRM is really the best way to know but you really need one with the strap as it is far more accurate.
  • I've seen a large number of websites say that people who include calcium in their diet lose more fat. Eating yogurt three times a day helped participants in one study lose 61% more than non-yogurt eaters (but other stats I've seen say 20%-30%). I have at least one yogurt a day and swear by it also  If you Google…
  • Erm.... when you put it like that it sounds scary
  • Every time I go to the gym I always feel so great when I come out and also so glad that I went. I motivate myself by thinking of that feeling. I also use the gym as a good form of stress relief. I always feel much less stressed and more happy with myself every time I go.
  • That's a good idea but can I confirm if I went over my daily fat figure with natural fats like nuts it isn't as bad as other types of unnatural fats?
  • That is going to be your first problem. 1200 is the MINIMUM your body needs to function. If you are repeatedly going under that all you will achieve is putting your body into starvation mode. Once there your metabolism will slow down and the weight loss will pretty much come to a grinding halt because your body starts…
  • Sounds like at you're at the same point I'm at and it is such a lovely place to be :flowerforyou:
  • Yup just toning now. I love my new lifestyle and I really can't see me ever going back. It took a while but when I think about fast food or chocolate now all I can visualize in my head is the fat and grease churning around in my stomach and it really puts me off wanting it  I am in a bit of a dilemma now though. I…
  • The longer I stay away from chocolate the less I want it. Had my first bar in 2 months last week and really didn't enjoy it. Poor old chocolate has lost it's wicked grasp on me
  • For such a great post I'm afraid that I don't know the answer. I would say that my heart rate monitor is a god send because it is a Polar so syncs up to the treadmill and Elliptical. When I first started to be in the fat burning all I had to do was WALK at level 3. Now I barely break a sweat before level 8. My fat burning…
  • I wanted it off my stomach so badly but it was the VERY LAST place my body took the fat from.... dammit! Legs and bum changed first and are now solid thanks to running and Elliptical.
  • Just thought of another one.... I have a polar heart rate monitor so it sync's up with the lifefitness machines at the gym. I try to keep my heart beat between 120 and 135. I keep increasing the incline or speed until I hit 135 and then lower it down until I get to 120/5. Then I just keep repeating between incline and…
  • I have two ways of keeping me motivated my second option is my most favorite for keeping me motivated... 1. High energy music. It really keeps me going. 2. When you walk into the gym go on a treadmill next to the fittest/youngest person you can find. I always do this and try to outlast them. I can run 10k at a time now…
  • I really struggle eating my exercise calories. I work out a lot and it often adds 1k or more giving me 3k+ a day to find. I simply can't find 3 "healthy" meals a day with 1,000 calories for each meal...unless it was all junk and I'm not going down that route again. Most of my main meals are between 400 to 600 and that is…
