What job do you have?

Runners nipple (men)
Ok, this is somewhat embarrassing but I have been increasing my running over the last few weeks and recently my nipples have become really sore. I've noticed that this is a common problem so I doubt I can be the only one? I've been on Google but a lot of the answers are from years past. I wanted to know is there anything…

Anyone Kite surf?
I am seriously thinking of taking it up as the beach is only a 5 minute walk from where I live so easy to do. I see people out there kite surfing all the time and it looks like great fun  Anyone do it and is it easy to learn etc?

100k in 5 days...
Ok, It's time to put all this weight loss to the test. My (slightly crazy) plan; to run 100k in 5 days :noway: I'm going to keep updating this post each day to show my progress but I would appreciate some support to keep me going  Sunday 23rd Jan - 22k Monday 24th Jan - 21k Tuesday 25th Jan - TBA Wednesday 26th Jan…

What will your life be like once you reach your goal? Here's
On the 15th May of this year I reached my goal weight and waved goodbye to my 50lb excess. As I approach the first 5 month anniversary I thought I would share what the last 5 months have been like and what my current weight/happiness etc is. The thing that most worried me once I had hit my goal weight was that I was going…

Stopped exercise and weight loss starts?
A lot of people (me included) tend to get into set routines and stick with them. It is when something in our life changes that we notice small changes. Up until 3 weeks ago I was going to the gym every evening and would burn between 700 and 1,000 extra calories a session. Since I hit my goal weight in May my weight has…

My latest success story (Gym)
It has been a while since I posted one of these but this one is special because to me, it's a biggy... My biggest regret was the removal of the cartilage from my right knee a few years ago. My running and treadmill workouts have taken its toll and I'm no longer able to run more than 20 minutes before it gets really…

No it really isn't easy eating daily calories
Ok so this is highly controversial and I will receive a lot of criticism but it’s something that I face almost every day and so do many more people on here so here I go; “I simply cannot eat all of my calories each day unless I eat junk or eat just for the sake of eating even though I’m full”. There, I’ve said it…phew! I…

Could you have done it without MFP? Say thanks here!
Without this site there is absolutely no way I could have achieved what I've done. This site and the community with it have completely changed my life and I have never been so content. I just wanted to say I couldn't not have done it without you and you have a VERY BIG thank you from me!

Funny thing you miss now you've lost weight...
We all talk about what we like about getting fitter but what about the funny things you miss now you’re not as heavy? I’m not talking about food or drinks but anything else you miss BECAUSE you’ve lost the weight. I posted this topic weeks ago and a lot of new people have come along and others may have missed it so pipe up…

Friends and the "completed diary"
I don't know if I'm the only one but I can't bring myself to congratulate someone who has their diary secret? I'm always worried that I might be saying well done to someone who only ate 300 calories and my congrats may encourage it. My friends list is growing fast and I post a lot of messages to my friends. I just don't…

Running from 1k to 16k distances in 4-5 months
Last night I ran further than I have ever run before. I always set myself new targets, whether that be faster, longer, higher inclines etc. Up until last night the furthest I had run was 12k and what was nice about last night was once I went 12k I had no target so just kept running for the fun of it. I just carried on…

What's the Best music album...in the World...EVER!
Ok folks, What do you think is the best Album ever made? (I think this could be fun!). It has to be the album that contains the most songs that when you hear them come on you HAVE to rock your body to no matter where you are  I already know it is "U2, The Joshua Tree" but maybe, just maybe, someone somewhere (with…

Some things are SO worth waiting for!
This is probably my last success story and I know I have posted a couple but this was also a real biggy for me. The 32" trousers and jeans I've been wearing for the last couple of months have gradually been belt-tightened to the point it needed 5 notches. I had to get smaller so yesterday I ordered some 30" jeans and…

Before and After pic (45lb goes bye bye!)
Ok so in my usual non-serious way I present what a 45lb loss looks like. I don't have any body shots until now but you can see from the June pic that I was getting really chunky... In December I started to really go for it and get the weight off for good and my belly was still 6" more than it is now. This was my…

Pah you women have it easy for clothes! :)
So the wardrobe I bought a month or so ago no longer fits. My trousers are now 5 notches on the belt and look silly. No problem I thought, I'll just downgrade as I have done all the way through my weight loss..... WRONG! I pick out a pair of chinos I like and go through the whole rack... not a single 30" waist. 'Hmmm ok…

The weird things you miss about NOT being overweight...
I'm not talking about food or drink but the strange little things you used to take for granted but can't anymore. Mine is this.... As I sit here at work with folded arms I no longer have a big soft belly to rest my arms on. Now I have a rib cage again I just can't quite get comfy. Might have to bring in a cushion

From "you look great" to "I'm worried, you're too thin"
I love my friends and family but sometimes they can be really annoying :explode: I've lost 45lb and up until 10lb ago they have all been supportive and congratulated me. Now they are "concerned" that I am looking too thin and need to put weight back on. They think that I'm not eating anywhere near enough. This would be OK…

Polar Heart Rate Monitor - Level of activity?
It has just occurred to me that I may have the wrong setting for the activity. I have a desk job so on the HRM I have put the lowest activity level. The thing is I'm in the gym 6 days a week for between one or two hours and them some weights which would put my activity after work as very active. I'm just not sure what…

It can be so hard because of team lunches
I am really good with what I eat. I eat carefully and watch everything I eat. I also try to avoid as many team lunches as possible. This week is a nightmare! We had a big team lunch on Monday (Nando's), today was a friends get together at a chinese and tomorrow we have an end of scrum meeting at some other restaurant to be…

6 Months on
It was the 6th December 2009 that I finally wanted to take control of my life. I knew a diet wasn't going to cut it and it needed to be a complete lifestyle change. In December I was 185lb with a 38" waist. I'm now 142lb with a 32" waist and I'm just a couple of pound off my final goal. That 43lb was hard to come off but I…

I am so happy :D
I hope you don't mind me posting :) I started this journey around Christmas last year. I knew I was in for the long haul and stuck with it. 40lb down and I'm so very close to my goal weight...but that isn't it... Treadmills have always fascinated me but I've never had the stamina. 3 months I go I started on cross trainers…

Quitting smoking with Zyban – Should I take it easy?
Over the last few months I have embraced my new lifestyle completely. Gym 5 times a week, much healthier eating and I’m almost at my ideal weight. My one last vice is the ciggy and it needs to go! I started taking Zyban on Saturday and I’m not sure if it was because of it but I had terrible sickness and diarrhoea for 72…

Scales are not the be-all and end-all
This has been a year of buying clothes. Being a typical bloke I tend to very rarely buy new clothes as clothes shopping is comparable to root canal surgery or even worse…watching a chic flick! In January I had to buy some 36” waist trousers as the 38” I used to wear would fall off me. Two months later I had to buy…

Anyone else sometimes struggle eating daily calories?
Do you ever get days where you feel full but when you tot up the days intake you find your still under even a 1,000? At the weekend I was out with the kids all day, felt full but when I totted it up I was only on 700 calories after 3 meals :noway: Once you really do change your lifestyle it does sometimes seem hard for me…

Blood pressure finally normal...
I have had very high blood pressure for years (been on tablets for 2 years to try and lower it). Throughout this year I have been dieting and going to the gym most days. I've just had my first blood pressure test this year and it has finally entered the realms of normality. Feels so good knowing my body is getting better…

Finally out of the dreaded plateau & new record...
Wow 5 weeks of no movement in weight and it's finally dropping! It started at Easter. I was actually eating MORE than normal because of being home for family dinners and that somehow kicked in the weight loss. A lot has to be said for tricking your body by not eating the same amount of calories each day (every now and then…

Having a cold (man flu) sucks
Over the last few weeks I’ve done so well. Last week I exercised off 4,000 calories and even though my weight hasn’t budged for 3 weeks I have seen other benefits (shrinking waistline and my BPM going down when I work out as my body gets stronger). Guess my main problems are I never have an appetite with a cold and I think…

You try so hard but foods are often misleading
Need to vent my frustration :-/ It is so difficult to spot the hidden dangers in the foods and drinks you buy. Sometimes it gets very frustrating. When I quit drinking the fizzy drinks I switched to bottles of a very well known UK berry drink thinking it would be much better for me. Wrong because it has almost the same…

Ok, I officially don't get it...
My diet has been a weird one (never seen it before). Each week I would stop eating/drinking a certain type of thing. First week it was the fizzy drinks, second week was chocolate, third was take-aways and so on. But this is what I don’t get… Fizzys – Knew I wouldn’t miss them, no problem there. Likewise with Takeaways.…
