  • Exercise calories are a nightmare to work out for sure. On here it could say 600 calories burnt but my Heart rate monitor might say 300. You should eat at least some of the calories and if you can afford it get a heart rate monitor (the one with a chest strap!) as I'm guessing it is probably more accurate. If you don't eat…
  • I've lost almost exactly the same weight as you and started almost exactly at the same time, scary  I so agree though. I don't know how my body managed to lug around so much extra weight. Exercise was a NIGHTMARE to start with... I could just run 1k with a stop. Now I'm running 10k non-stop and even after 45 minutes…
  • That is a LOVELY milestone to pass, well done you! :flowerforyou:
  • LOL I love that one!! The best thing I heard ever on TV was 2 women talking about their childen. The woman with the daughters said to the woman with boys... "When they grow up you only ever have to worry about one penis, I have to worry about EVERY penis". I have 3 daughters so that really made me laugh :)
  • I gained 45lb when I quit and I have only just lost it all BUT... I'm smoking again...BUT... only for another day or two (taking Zyban which should kick in any day) I wanted to make sure I had a complete lifestyle change and lots of gym time before I quit again. I NEVER want to go back to that ever again!
  • I was lucky with mine because I didn't even try them on (bought online). I went for the most padded Nike running shoes I could find (Had the cartilage removed my from right knee so have to be very careful) and I've never had any problem. There are WAAAAAAAAAAAAY too many running trainers out there and I felt so overwhelmed…

  • Really well done! :flowerforyou:
  • The closer you get to your goal the harder it gets. My body was very happy with my weight 10lbs ago and has fought long and hard to stop me losing it. It will take much longer than the first 20,30.100lbs you just need to understand that it will be nowhere near as quick. I actually view this as a HUGE benefit. Sounds weird…
  • I drive my friends and family nuts because once I set my mind on something I do it and maintain a constant and unwavering commitment to it. I am a highly focused person and it makes everything I do so much easier
  • I also agree with the Special K bars. They mange to get rid of every sweet craving I get.
  • I workout extra the next day so I don't feel as bad and the extra workout keeps reminding me that although it may be nice to have a naughty meal it should come at a price so it doesn't start happening every day
  • Me but hopefully stopping in the next couple of days thanks to Zyban. Been on them once before and it is a miracle drug which stopped me smoking for 3 years (took my soon-to-be ex wife cheating on me to start again  ) All in all looking forward to quitting. Last time I quit a piled on the pounds which is why this…

  • I would still try increasing and decreasing your calorie intake in case your body has grown used to a set amount. If that doesn't work maybe see a doctor to see if there is any medical reason?

  • I know exactly what you mean. That is exactly what I smell now and puts me off going in. There are only one food smell that still get my body craving...bacon being cooked  So far I haven't weakened and got one but boy, the smell of bacon sure is a hard one to resist!
  • If you are eating your exercise calories then the other possibility is that your body has become used to your eating and exercising so puts you in a plateau. Try this: With regards to calories eat more one day, less the next, more the next and so on. A couple of hundred either side keeps your body guessing so it burns more…

  • Sorry just to add: if you use any lifefitness machines I would say go get a polar HRM as these sync in with the machine.
  • When I got a heart rate monitor and filled in all my details I was shocked to see that the actual calories burnt were roughly 40% lower than on here. The thing is we are all different; someone who is 100lb overweight will burn more than me with only 1lb to go. The only pretty accurate way of knowing the amount is with a…
  • Well done you! :flowerforyou:
  • Without seeing your diary it is hard to say but I'm guessing you're only eating 1200 calories even when you exercise? If this is the case then your body is in starvation mode so you won't lose anything. 1200 is the minimum and is roughly based on someone who does little to no exercise. If you burn four or five hundred…

  • Wow so many Pink Floyd
  • A Special K bar is sweet enough and gets me through many 3-5pm's :)
  • Firefox + NoScript or AdBlock = No adds
  • I saw an excellent post on here about why you don't lose when you drink. The basics are alcohol is worse for your body than food so your body will stop fat burning and switch to alcohol burning until all the alcohol has gone. It won't matter how healthy you eat if you still drink (isn't something like 2 to 4 hours in your…
  • Salad is the nightmare for me. If I have a salad for lunch or dinner I will always be full and well under 1,200 calories. I only eat 200-300 for breakfast (I hate breakfasts), then 300 to 400 for lunch (anymore and I feel sluggish at work). With some fruit and snacks I've eaten somewhere between 500 and 700. Now in the…
  • This was weird yesterday.... My MP3 player, 1500 songs playing on random.... I'm just coming up to 1 hour of a very grueling high pace, high incline treadmill session. 3 minutes to go and I'm right at my limit... every step feeling like 20lb of weights were on each leg and then.... Europe; Final countdown comes on.....…
  • Bread  I know that's weird but fizzy drinks, beer and chocolate were all so easy compared to my love of bread.
  • I have maybe 1 a month but I no longer like it, just tastes too sickly for me now. I much prefer ice cold water and find it so much more refreshing that coke ever was.
  • The last 10lb is really hard to budge because your body really does not want to get rid of it. We like having a nest egg for the bad times and our bodies are the same in that they need the fat for any bad times. trying to make it give it up is hard work. I have to constantly change the exercise I do and my calorie intake…
  • I never knew you women stuff your bras with so much stuff... I'm never going to look at any of you the same way again
  • I will admit I'm a gym junky these days. Mine isn't just for health reason but for stress relief reasons as well. The pressure is really on at work so I need to vent it all and there is nothing better than pushing myself to the limit to get rid of it all  But yeah, if I miss a day I really don't like it
