  • MFP takes into account the daily calorie burn that you would have for a normal day based on your answers and subtracts 500 cal per day. So 500*7=3500 cal = 1lb fat. If you exercise more than normal you need to adjust so you dont put your body into starvation and really make your metabolism stop.
  • While not of the Jewish faith, I admire your dedication and strength. Take care of yourself. :flowerforyou:
  • Figured I'd throw my hat into the ring on this one. I left my Ex- husband for this very reason. I left my job because the stress from it has literally hospitalized me (IBS, PTSD, and other issues). So I was a stay at home wife for about 2+ years, couldnt drive, no outside social interaction... a literal shut in at the age…
  • Welcome to the family! Enjoy your new lifestyle!
  • :flowerforyou: Welcome home!
  • I live right by you off of Sunchase. Let me know if you ever need a walking buddy.
  • I so just want to send a karmic HUG to you. Your story is very similar to my own so I do know your pain. My Tale: I was born to a 20 year old woman that would by today's medical terms be full fledged bipolar. I will explain this later why i am so certain of her mental state. The biological father left supposedly before I…
  • Totally agree! I love peppermint tea especially during the holidays! Celestial seasons lemon zinger is also a fav... and last year I got hooked on the decaf tea flowers for glass teapots... can't remeber the brand. So it looks like if its unsweetened and decaf i'll be safe to count al least 1/2 as real water. Much…
  • I havent been counting it, but with winter coming up i know I'll be replacing a good deal of my regular water with warmer liquids. I do not like caffeine and make sure to dring decaf green tea or herbal as much as possible (and I like the antioxidant factor too).
  • there are a few sayings that come to mind that are o so true. 1) Eat to live - dont live to eat. = food is just fuel for your body to run its daily processes. It should not be about what can I get away with but more about what does my body really need. 2) $2 mcgreasers breakfast = $250,000 heart attack. = simple enough. If…
  • Sheesh with the holiday I missed Check-in totally. Was actually able to get all 3 goals completed this week on the EA active, totaling 2 solid hours plus another 30 min on WiiFit. Definately got my 3 days in and then some. Still working on trying to unlock the 1o min hulahoop though. :blushing:
  • ttthumper: On the EA active there are several activities that you and a friend can do if you both have a controller and nunchuk. The leg strap is optional and was designed after the game. You will just have to concentrate on the controller positions. As to the sport pack.... The band it comes with is PA THE TIC!! I highly…
  • Adding on to the september thread! Jovi or FitGal... whats the next challenge!?!?
  • Rhyenblue - I did the 2 min 5 times and added it up :) so you were on the right track. How long is the competition gonna be open? All month? I'd love to double my score. Oh!! Forgot Tuesday checking. Got in 3 sessions of 30 min each, plus the hula hooping. (TOM paid a visit last week, so I was happy to do what I did).…
  • So I did the hula hoop for 10min and got a total of 1266 spins! Lets see if that is incentive for anyone else to try and beat me ;)
  • Very close. The body loves to use protein as a tool for building lean muscle, however even protein if not used up will be converted and stored as the fat we all hate. So keeping close ~10g of your goals is great, just do what you can to use it.
  • For last week I got in 2 days at an hour each which equals my goal. Would have made time for more... but TOM decided to show up ;) I am still counting the EA active if thats allowed.
  • The skinny on protein: Your body's metabolism chooses what to burn as its fuel source from a range of nutrients, but main candidates are carbs and protein. Because protein is an easy burn for the body, whereas carbs have to be converted first, its a quicker source to go through. This is the main reason why the atkins diet…
  • Is it still possible to join? I am 2 days into the EA active 30 day challenge and I totally love it. I can do 30 min a day 4 times a week. Seriously, the Wii Fit is soo much better than coffee for a wakeup. I even replaced the workout band with a good one and suppliment with free weights as needed ;)
  • Learning the difference between sore and "broken" will be something that takes time to learn. My suggestion? Absolutely, but take it slow until your muscles warm up. You will likely find that you feel twice as good for doing so. Here's another few tips: 1)Stretching - change up your routine and try some yoga, but at least…
  • Replying to a topic brings it back up to the top of the list for easy viewing. So replying with something as simple as an emote or "bump" keeps the post in the main window.
  • While I own season 1, i have yet to watch it. I am actually a fan of the novels and can't wait for the next book in the series to come out.
  • I would recommend keeping an eye on your blood sugar. Going from starving to a sugary sweet overload like a mixed drink would cause enough of a spike to do just that. Quick and cheep idea is the over the counter options form grocery/drug stores. You may also want to consider adding a fasting oral glucose test to your next…
  • REAL Long island ice teas not only have Coca-Cola in them, but it also contains 5 types of alchohol. So if each serving of 1oz of alchohol = ~100 cal, thats a huge no no for me.
  • Where soda is bad is because you are taking in artificial sweeteners that do not assist in removing the negative chemicals from you body to make it work more efficiently. From a mechanical standpoint, if you are trying to get the right amount of fluid to help your body function and to remove the sodium and other toxins…
  • RunTex also posts a listing of the local races. Might want to call or stop by.
