tonight i remembered to post for our new challenge...which starts tomorrow! oh well, I'm here anyway so I may as well practice. I had 6 servings of fruit today and 5 servings of veggies! and none of it was cooked, all raw and fresh.

^THIS THIS AND THIS! What feels better, lower number on the scale or looser clothes in smaller sizes. Great motivational quote: If you're tired of starting over, STOP GIVING UP!
-
Awesome! so far the only way I had to keep them from molding was to eat them on the way home from the store!
-
this! and I will add runnning/hiking up STEEP hills, like so steep you have to use your hands to keep from falling backwards. If you've been doing squats & etc, you'll be surprised to find this makes you sore! I went from flat *kitten* to round and perky and tight. woo-hoo! also check MFP blogs by LorinaLynn to see her…

Still plagued by my belly pooch, so hope to find an outfit for the After photos that will highlight the good and camoflage the bad. If I'm too embarrassed to post on MFP, at a minimum I will have on my BFL site! Are you doing the Official Entry thing this time around? I have no change of winning I'm sure, but I'll give it…

I have made progress but not done yet so I will take a few days easy and then get back on it. Today I tried on 3 pair of pants before I found one that fit--the first 2 pairs were too big!! I can see progress and only hope my After pix reflect what I expect to see. My imagination swings to one extreme or the other,…

liquid pasturized egg whites in a carton ( I find it at walmart) instead of breaking whole eggs & throwing away the yolk. No taste or texture, so add to almost anything. 3 TBS = 5 g protein. How about that protein water powder by Special K? I think it adds 10 g protein & 5 g of fiber, just add it to the water you need to…

How do you feel better--what specific differences can you tell? (I'm totally NOT questioning your experience, I'm just always looking for positive changes from others' experiences that might help me out in some way.)

^This! I pay attention to drink water when I'm thirsty, but Diet Coke with Splenda for a treat & pick-me-up. Aspartame aggravates my joints so I avoid diet sodas sweetened with that, but there are more options with Splenda now than there used to be

If I walk fast but not really pushing into a race-walking speed, I burn about a calorie a minute so 60 min=600 cals. Another poster on MFP uses the general rule that 1 mile = 100 calories, more or less. You use the same number of calories in one mile, whether you walk or run, it's just that running gets you there faster.…

I'm glad you pointed that out! I would have used the "serving" on the package of salad mix, for example, where a serving=2 cups. I would have been short-changing myself. Thanks!

Dr Shoals makes a little tape dispenser thing with foam tape that you can cut off to any length and stick inside your shoe to pad any of those hot spots that spoil killer shoes like those!

Nike's foot shape and my foot are the perfect match. I am female but I get a man's size 6 or 6.5 due to the shape of my duck-foot shaped foot--wide at the toes and narrow at the heel. Nike Air was the first shoe I ever put on that felt exactly right immediately.

I can relate! The first time I bought size 10 jeans in a store and they FIT, I nearly hyperventilated with excitement! I kept checking out my butt in the mirror. LOL Now if a size 10 fits me I'm not happy about it. I kept some of my "skinny clothes" in that tub for years and years too. But then, when they fit and I did…

not many at this site, I'll bet. But I'm guessing that there are lots who are looking to gain lean muscle mass too, even if they have a fat-loss goal. After all, you're being specific about wanting to add muscle, and not just grow yourself a big beer belly! So you'll probably find lots of people into bodybuilding and…

My three fast-food staples are Hardees Turkey Burger without may, Subway's grilled chicken salad (with double meat and no croutons and fat-free dressing), and Cap'n D's Wild Alaska Salmon salad (with the salmon blackened and NO BREAD) There are not many prepared diet meals I eat anymore, due to the sodium, white flour, and…

Green Team: add 250 calories burned to my challenge goal for the week! Ski Machine for my cardio, since it was already dark by the time I could work out.

My understanding: all meat, fish, and poultry have protein most fruits have little to no protein most legumes and grains have protein in varying amounts per serving some vegetables have protein but not as much as legumes, grains, or animal parts Many many years ago, scientists determined that our bodies need all the amino…

what variety in music posted so far! Here's what's on my workout playlist these days (you have to admit I'm ecclectic!): Addicted to Love-Robert Palmer All Jacked Up-Gretchen Wilson Amore (Sexo)-Santana Aquarius-Fifth Dimension The Boogie Bumper-Big Bad Voodoo Daddy Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy-The Andrews Sisters Born This…

I am not presently using the gym either, but there is SO much you can do with dumbbells and if you also get a set of Resistance Bands, you can hit every body part! I finally broke down and bought myself a Christmas present too: A pair of the Gold's Gym dumbells that adjust from 5# to 25#, so I have one for each hand. They…

I haven't been using anything other than MFP for tracking, but these sound like they could be helpful! I know that for me tracking food on paper would NEVER work, but I have been tracking workouts on paper and cardio just in my head. Thanks, I will check out some of these! Oh, I have the Abs Workout free ap on my phone but…

well I dummied up and entered exercise into MFP tracker, but not here for the challenge-duh! so far way under my goal, but..no excuses, right? only up to about 900 calories for the challenge so far. :(

also bone composition! I really do have "big bones" like I always said, but the bone scan at age 50 actually proved it. My Dr was starting the "now be sure to take your calcium" until she saw my bone scan and then she dropped the topic! I think that my bare skeleton would not even fit into a size 0-2.

it's just biology! men have more testosterone (and that's a GOOD thing!) and the potential for more muscle growth and a higher percentage of lean muscle to body weight. They also tend to be heavier than women and have bigger heavier bones. so if they weigh more to start with, they use more calories just walking around…

I have a sort of "Sugar Beast" that lives in my head (or my hanging belly!) that hibernates when I eat what's good for me and wakes when I eat a bunch of sugar. Once it's awake, it speaks to me loudly and constantly, saying I Want Sugar! I want Chocolate! & etc. I have to remember that it's not ME that wants it, my Sugar…

people will mock and ridicule you regardless. I'd rather be hooted at while out walking than in line at the fast food place! Turn the music up and ignore the idiots.

really like unsweet tea too. I actually like plain water, but for variety use plain sparkling water, or add lime juice with or without stevia. cucumber sounds like a good idea, I will try that!

love themobile app to enter right from the bar code on the package. I too keep the packing until I can scan it with my phone. My hubby no longer rolls his eyes over this behavior, it's that normal now. BTW, Just when I thought DH wasn't supportive of my workouts, he just bought me an insulated water bottle "for the trail"!…

I like the crunchy little things myself. They also do a good job making a gel for my whole berry cranberry sauce--I use stevia to sweeten so the entire bag of frozen cranberries has like 35 calories and tons of nutritional goodness!

Ricky Martin "The Cup of Life"--gotta love how it starts off with "Do you REALLY want it!?!"
