pix-work in progress (be kind!)
I had a great day at work yesterday, felt good! realized there's this huge mirror there, I was alone, so I stopped & used my phone to get a decent shot of my arm progress. (NOT the bathing suit at work LOL!) I'm trusting you all enough to post the "Before" pix (remember, it's a Work In Progress!) and the full-body progress…

What 5' 6" with Barbie proportions would look like
they adjusted this woman's photo first to keep her at her same height, but with Barbie's proportions. Then they started with her 28" waist and adjusted all the other measurements again, to keep her at Barbie proportions. Interesting, especially with the Real Life Ukranian Barbie getting so much internet attention!

is everybody MIA?
I know NavyMustang is training for his 5K in Pensacola this weekend, but has everybody else given up? Posting progress is motivating, if you're doing good we all cheer, and if you're not we can boost you up! I'm stuck at a weight plateau for the 3rd week in a row which could be bumming me out if I let it, but I'm just…

Fellow BFL-ers are too quiet--how's everybody doing?
Maybe everybody is working their BFL program so intensely that they don't have time to post progress? Hope everyone is doing well and seeing some real results by now. I'm seeing results in the way last year's clothes are starting to fit me again--I am "shopping my closet" instead of buying new. I will also admit to…

this Warrior Dash thing-- am I crazy to consider?
keep seeing posts about the Warrior Dash, so I checked it out. There is one later this year i COULD get to, but am I totally insane for even thinking about it? As I get fitter and feel healthier, I feel like doing stuff and being active, but I'm a 55 yr old woman with about 15 lbs of extra baggage. I wouldn't want to win,…

it's been 6 weeks today, and...
...and I've finally hit the 10-lb mark! Not as fast as I want but totally healthy and muscle-protecting. and speaking of muscles, I'm very pleased with my shoulders progress, and last night I was caught off guard to see obliques in the mirror. true, I have to turn a certain way in just the right light, but there they were,…

Aha moment: a binge is a SERIES of choices, not just one
watching a movielate last night ( "Moneyball" with Brad Pitt--awesome!) I made a series of choices that resulted in a binge of about 1000 high-fat and high-sodium caloires. The only good things about the whole episode are 1) I chose foods that would be healthy if eaten one portion at a time instead of 5 portions at once,…

do NOT do this with resistance bands!
learn from my mistake! Lying on my back, tight tension on the cord across the soles of my shoes to do leg press exercises. Too focused on keeping good tension, not paying attention to the position of the cord and WHAM! it slipped off my feet, snapped back and hit me right across the face...Owwww! lucky it missed my eye,…

deceptive marketing? bit of a rant
now that more people are paying attention to eating whole grain foods, I notice a clever marketing trick that some bread makers have resorted to. Any time "enriched wheat flour" is the first ingredient listed, that product is made with white flour, not whole wheat or other whole grain. So now take your regular hamburger…

Do BL TV contestants eat back exercise calories?
Been following the discussion about whether or not to eat back your exercise calories. Most say yes and many leave a little cushion. It seems to contradict what my brain tells me, but my brain got me into this shape so it makes sense to do it differently. BL contestants work out like 8 hrs/ day so surely they can't be…

2 Great Motivational Cardio Tunes
1. "Edge of Glory"/Lady Gaga. I think they used this as the theme for Biggest Loser last season 2. "The Cup of Life" /Ricky Martin. An oldie (1198?) but I just discovered it. Very upbeat & high energy, and I love that it starts with "Do you want it???!!!" because you can holler "YES" while you're panting and sweating!

EAS Protein Powder in Tropical flavors?
does anybody remember the pouches of EAS protein powder in various tropical flavors? they were the best--banana, orange, and others. you could buy a box of assorted flavors back about 10 years ago, but I can't find them any more. I'd love to find them again, so if you know about these please reply. thanks!

EASY! Whole Cranberry Sauce with Protein
I am NOT a cook, so I have to do easy and fast. Had this at dinner last night: First make Whole Cranberry Sauce: 1 bag of fresh or frozen whole cranberries, 1-2 cups of your favorite no-cal sweetener (I use Stevia), Optional: orange zest and Chia seeds. Bring 1.5 cups of water & sweetener to a boil, pour in the cranberries…

How to enter steps for a recipe?
I want to enter a new recipe and have entered the ingredients, so I have the nutritional breakdown, but I don't see how to enter the step-by-step process for the recipe. The kitchen is NOT my room, so I will not remember how to prepare a recipe and would like to have it handy here. thanks
