  • If you lost 125 lbs. and didn't eat your exercise calories then I would assume that I can lose my 40 lbs. without eating my exercise calories. Is that correct?
  • Very interesting article. I was aware of the glycemic factor and it is correct. Eating low glycemic foods and contollong insulin levels is paramount to weight loss.
  • Hi, I have two children that are five years apart only because I had a hard time getting pregers the second time. We started trying when my daughter was 9 months old because I wanted them close in age. Anyway, tried for about a year and nothing. It was awhile before we decided to go to a fertility specialist where I went…
  • Hi, my biggest downfall was bread even though it was the whole wheat high fiber good stuff. You will be surprised at how quickly the cravings go away once you start eating clean. I lost 10 lbs in a month after being on a plateau for several months, by not eating anything made with any kind of flour which basically…
  • Is this the first time you've tried to lose weight? I guess you're a real newbie! Anyway, it seems like There's not much more I can add to the rest of your replies. Good luck and hope you can work it out. P.S> the best advice I can give you is to eat whole foods, meaning stay away from processed food cause that's where the…
  • You could put it in your oatmeal (1-2 tbs) or I use it when I make salad dressing in place of olive oil, Mixed in like this you really don't taste *kitten*! lol
  • I agree with those who say see a DOCTOR. You can be doing more damage to yourself and not realize it. Why take chances with your body? It's not worth it or at least stop running completely for several weeks and see if it improves.
  • Wow, that is a lot to lose in such a short time. You must have been really motivated! How'd you do it? I have 40 lbs. more to lose and only lost 30 lbs. so far and it took me over a year to lose that, but I'm not giving up. Like you said it is a lifestyle change so when I get there I get there as long as I'm going in the…
  • I was in a siimilar situation. Lost some weight and was at a plateau for the longest time. What worked for me was eliminating food made with any kind of flour. I eat clean only. Nothing processed. I still consume the same amount of calories but those calories come from fresh fruits and veggies, lean protein (no red meat),…

  • Quinoa is great nd very healthy for you especially if you are vegetarian. Lots of protein. Here is what you need to do. First, before cooking it make sure you rinse it under cold water otherwise it will be bitter when you eat it. Then add 2 cups of water to a pot and add in quinoa. Bring to a boil and let simmer about 15…
  • :flowerforyou: I am currently on Weight Watchers but don't count points anymore since joining MFP. I am definitely more comfortable with counting calories especially since the new points plus which changed everything. I have lost an additional 10 lbs. since joining MFP in mid May and before that was on the longest plateau…
  • Very intersrting. I might just give it a try. Thanks for th info.
  • I wouldn't do any exercise until all was clear. It won't hurt to cease activity until you're body is at it's optimal health. Why risk it? I also would have asked the doctor his opinion on this and take it from there. Good luck and take care of yourself.
  • Thanks Cutie! Your post is very uplifting and we are all grateful to you for cheering us on. Keep up the good work and right back atcha!
  • Definitely pizza but now I limit myself to just 3 bites or a sliver of a regular slice.
  • Looking at your posted pic, it doesn't seem like you need to lose much weight and you have lost 6 lbs. so maybe your body is adjusting right now and trying to tell you all it's gonna give up is those 6 lbs for now. Anyway, don't panic. Eventually it will kick in. Just keep eating well.
  • Hi, I don't know what you're eating but I can tell you what worked for me as I was at a plateau for about 4 months. I basically don't eat anything made with any kind of flour I only eat Whole foods, nothing processed. That's not to say I don't eat carbs. I eat good carbs from fresh fruits and vegetables, brown/wild rice,…
  • All of the above ideas is what I would suggest EXCEPT Fiber One bars. They taste fine but they will make you toot like a french horn! and we can't have that at work now can we? lol:noway:
  • Great job buddy! I can't wait to do the same. Thanks for the inspiration.
  • If your wife sticks to her daily calorie allowance and eats whole foods (nothing processed) she will definitely lose weight. It worked for me. Just fresh fruits/veggies, legumes, lean protein, Greek yogurt, nuts). That's how I eat. I also don't eat anything made with any type of flour. (processed). Lost 10 lbs. in a month.…
  • Welcome to MFP. I have been using it for about a month and it has helped me lose 10 lbs. The food and exercise tracker is very helpful. The nutrition feedback makes it so easy to monitor what you're eating. You're gonna love it. I never thought I'd be obsessed with tracking but I am and it's all I needed to jumpstart my…
  • I'm a member of Costco. Can you tell me about your Body monitor? What does it measure and how much was it? Thank you.

  • I like your attitude!
  • There are moms who are jealous of their daughters and even want to compete with them. Sad but true.
  • I bought the CD about 2 weeks ago but never even opened it up. Think I'm gonna go for it this morning and see what it's all about. Thanks for the reminder. Off to the basement to get my mat and I assume I would need dumb bells which are down there too.
  • Deck of cards equals 3 oz in weight for meat or chicken
  • The best visual is that 3 oz. of meat/chicken is equal in size to a standard deck of cards.
  • I thought this was common knowledge. It's true.I have cut out eating anything made with any kind of flour and have lost 10 lbs. in about a month which is a miracle for me cause my weight loss had been at a plateau for the longest time so I decided to do something I considered drastic and I have started to lose weight…
  • Being 5'6" and big boned, 150 lbs. is best for me. I have been down to 135 lbs. and really looked anorexic with big collar bones jutting out. and no boobs to speak of. lol Of course, if I was a model that would''t be a problem but I think it looks gross. I was 150 lbs. when I got married 22 years ago and that was the best…
  • That is so great! You both look terrific . God Bless you both! You're both very inspiring! Than you for sharing.
