  • Lately I have been eating back at least half. I just find I have more freedom to eat more when I exercise but I only do so if I feel like it. If I don't feel the need for more food I don't eat more just to make the numbers work out on the screen.
  • No such thing as a small loss. Any loss at all is significant and yes I can tell the difference. Congrats and keep up the good work!
  • I recently purchased a Polar FT4. Moderately priced at $89.00, easy to use, which is good for me cause I tend to be technically challenged. lol The only problem I have is that I am always out of the zone cause my heart rate is always more than it should be so I have to constantly watch to not over do it. Ironic. I have to…
  • Story of my life since the age of 13. The only time I was ever thin was when I was dieting. As soon as I stopped the weight came back and then some. At 51 years old I have finally figured out that once you get to goal it doesn't mean that is the end of dieting. I equate it to someone who is an alcholic. You have to be…
  • My go to snacks are 100 calorie microwave popcorn by orville redenbacher, plain fat free greek yogurt with berries or a smoothie with frozen mango chunks. My indulgences are 60 calorie fudgesicle or skinny cow ice cream sandwiches. For chicken, if you have a Costco's near you they sell pre-cooked grilled chicken strips…
  • Congratulations on your tremendous accomplishment. Love your collage idea on the fridge and you look amazing!
  • You are brave in many ways. You have the courage and determination to take on many battles to your victory. A true inspirations to all and as always thank you for sharing your journey.
  • I got over my plateau by eliminating anything made with any kind of flour. My good carbs come from whole grains like wheat berries, quinoa, brown/wild rice, fruit & veggies, mostly fruit & veggies though. Hope this helps.
  • Great job. Isn't it the greatest feeling! You have the power and you used it.
  • During the Winter is when I bake bread. I have a great recipe for a "No Knead" bread which is deliscious but I can't imagine that it is low cal. It's a real crusty, chewy artisan bread which is irresistable. I don't think I will be baking anytime soon since I have given up anything made with flour and have much success…
  • The sugars are way too low on MFP. An apple alone, which is good for you, has 25 grams of sugar so a daily total of 30 is rediculous! Ignore it and just try and stick with whole fruits and veg. which have natural sugar.
  • Hi! Welcome to MFP. I just logged in for the 85th day in a row. You're gonna love MFP. It's so helpful in tracking and has lots of motivation. I feel the same way as you. NO MORE GAINING BACK LOST WEIGHT except my husband isn't doing it with me. He doesn't feel his extra 20lb. pot belly is a problem. lol Anyway, feel free…
  • Have what you want just count it and fit itinto your daily allowance.
  • I wish I could get back to running well jogging actually, but tendonitus in my foot ails me. The weight came off best when I could jog. I guess I'll just stick to being patient on the elliptical. I'll just have to live vicariously through you G.
  • That is sooooo wonderful. I don't even know you and am very happy for you. It's an all around good feeling to see someone be as dedicated and successful and determined as you. You've come a long way and are a true inspiration to anyone who reads your story. You probably can write a very inspiring book about your journey. I…
  • I was at a plateau until I stopped eating anything made with flour like BREAD. I only eat whole grains like brown rice, quinoa and wheat berries, fresh fruit and veggies to get my carbs in. Also, eat lean protein, Greek yogurt. Works like a charm along with 3-4 days cardio. Hope this helps. Good luck!
  • 52 lbs. since April? WOW that is awesome! You''re doing great. Congrats and won't it be exciting to buy new clothes for your new bod? lol
  • Ugh! Just more empty calories and a strain on the wallet. I'd rather eat a piece of fruit. Sorry.
  • I just turned 51 and I know it is definitely harder to lose weight for me now than it was 20 years ago. I do cardio 4x a week and have been very diligent about eating well. It's coming off but very slow. I'm not anxious about it though. Not anymore. No pressure. As long as the scale continues to go down I'm happy; plus…
  • Wow! Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. I do steady cardio and walking which works for me. Being 51 years old, I am frightful of interval training. Once my heart rate gets to 150ish I slow down.
  • I have given up anything made with flour whether it's wheat or white flour. It has made a huge difference in my weight loss and got my weight loss started again after a long plateau. I only have one whole wheat high fiber wrap a week when I have to take lunch when we play golf. My carbs come from whole grains like wheat…
  • Welcome! You've come to the right place. MFP is great and people are very supportive. Feel free to friend me,
  • Hell no you're not the only non drinker but I know what you feel like. I don't drink either and never could understand what's so great about it. I'm 51 years old and never been "drunk" and not ashamed of it either! lol I guess growing up with a dad who became nasty and mean when he drank just made me not even want to be…
  • Welcome to MFP. You're gonna love it.
  • Good old fashioned blind date! I worked with his uncle and he is the one who set us up. Happily married for 22 years.
  • My victory every Friday night is that I only eat a sliver of pizza (literally 3 bites) instead of two slices. One of my "red light" foods and every week it's in the house for the family, not to mention the left over slices which usually last through Sunday.
  • I love cheese. It's fine as long as you monitor the calories (about 100 per oz). I have to cut it out cause I'm watching my cholesterol. Also, it does add a lot of calories but if you enjoy it and can afford to eat it calorie wise go for it!
  • Feel free to friend me. I am also a current Weight Watcher's member (since April 2010) and joined MFP in May 2011. Since joining I lost 14 lbs. (it took me a year to lose 20 lbs. on WW). I still go to meetings cause it's at work and I like the support from co-workers but I don't count points anymore. I count calories and…
  • Welcome back and thank yourself for coming back. I started MFP on May 19th and have lost 14 lbs. for a total of 32 thus far. I am currently on Weight Watchers but don't count points since joining MFP. I still go to meetings cause it's Weight Watchers at work and I enjoy the support from co-workers. I am so happy to have…
  • That's easy - PIZZA. Perfectly balanced meal. Has veggies (tomatoe sauce), carbs and protein. I LOVE IT!
