  • If your body is rejecting it, I'm thinking you don't need it. I would advise, don't take it before bed and sleep through the sick! If you eat a healthy/balanced diet you really don't need any vitamins. Watch this news clip for some more info:…
  • Welcome to the life style, all you new vegetarians! I've been vegetarian for over 7 years now and I LOVE it. It's really a great choice and it's not hard at all. I've never had any deficiency issues. I'm not vegan, but I go very light on dairy and eggs. I use some vegan substitutes in my cooking (such as Earth…
  • Reduced Fat Wheat Thins, haha! Which I almost always have with some kind of hummus and raw veggie. Apparently it's a staple in my diet :)
  • Okay you posted that while I was typing, lol, so my little sermon about fast-acting diets doesn't really apply. However, it is a basic mammalian fact that if you eat too little (which fasting obviously is) your metabolism goes into "starvation survival mode" where it hordes every calorie and fat cell your body has. This…

  • I've never fasted for more than a day (which is good to flush your system out a little, I think). I would strongly urge you to go back to a regular diet routine. After 3-4 days of fasting your metabolism is going to shut down to where anything you eat it'll start keeping all of the calories and fat for "survival" purposes.…

  • I have to say the first 3 years or so of being vegetarian I think I spent the whole time fighting. Now, if people want to ask me intelligent questions I'll talk to them about it. However, if people just want to harass me ("you're hurting that vegetable cause it's as alive as a cow") I let it roll off. If you want to pump…
  • I've only lost 10 pounds since I joined the gym, but I've lost quite a few inches (1 inch off my upper arms, almost an inch off each thigh, 1 1/2 off my belly button, and 1 1/2 off my hips), and it's due to lifting 2-3 days per week. However, STICK WITH THE CARDIO! You're not wasting your time. Overall weight loss comes…
  • Good job, girl. You got this!
  • Would love to do that! My wedding is September 18th. They started altering my gown this week and told me not to lose any more weight. But you know what? If they have to take in the side seam a second time (yes, they are taking it in already) then OH well! They can just do it. They admitted that unless I had a huge loss…
  • Good point! Thanks!!! Even logging in is a good step! :)
  • You know what? We're ALL allowed to have bad weeks. Give yourself a cut off. I had a really rough couple of weeks (death in the family, strep throat, etc.) and got way off track. I threw in the towel and said "I'll get back on the bandwagon Monday". And I did. Yesterday I stayed under my calorie goal and made it to the gym…
  • Taking a few days off may be the trick. However, check into some of your dietary balances. Lack of energy can be related to vitamin B deficiencies. Do you take a B complex? (B vitamins are naturally found in soil, so in a primitive setting we would get our needs from vegetables. The chemical treatments and cleaning…
  • Thanks for the advice! I'm doing it for breakfast, and I've done it a few days for lunch also, so we'll see if it helps me drop any quicker. That's good to hear though! :) I'm not much of a breakfast eater, so just the shake in cold water is perfect for me. As for lunch I've been having it with raw veggies or something…
  • Of course! That's a major difference, especially for 2 months. Good work, keep it up :)
  • Just bought a container of the Lean Shake Meal Replacement powder last night (blueberries & cream). It does taste good, but has anyone used it and seen that they lose more weight by drinking these shakes (along with diet and exercise), than just by diet & exercise alone? My finance has one of the member cards and the first…
  • 30 Day Shred is a great "starter" workout for people who haven't been working out a lot. It's a "high intensity" work out. I wouldn't suggest relying on it for more than those "30 day"s, but it's a great starting point! Another idea, since you already walk home...wear you workout shoes home and start jogging/running that…
  • Sounds like me!! Getting married September 18th and I want to lose about 35 lbs by then. More would be great but 30 pounds I feel like is a must.
