What a great committment to make for the holidays! Running the mile won't be the challenge for me. My challenge will be getting to the gym in the morning to do it or begging my husband to let me run it outside at night in the dark (and cold!) after the kiddos have gone to bed! Wheww! Lower body strength training is a must! If not to tone....do it to strengthen the muscles around your knees to prevent running injuries!! Yoga is another good way to 'tone' that people don't often think about. All the stretching and toning involved help firm up those thighs and butt!
