Try and soak in a hot bath immediately after your workout. This will help prevent the lactic acid from building up. Also, snack on some bananas. Potassium has been shown to help with lactic acid as well.

The loss you are seeing on your scale could be a result of losing muscle mass. The same thing happened to me when I went on my honeymoon to an all inclusive resort. Also, sometimes when I eat more, I don't feel as bloated and stuffed. I think this has to do with the calories jumpstarting my metabolism.

Wow....these are great suggestions! One of my goals is to start making my own snacks and to stop relying on the heavily processed, pre-packaged foods.

Have you tried any of the Special K bars? They have a variety of flavors and are very good! Unfortunatly, it does seem like protein bars are packed with sugar. If its protein packed snack you are seeking, try a handfull of peanuts or pistachios.
