I didn't really have digestive issues, but I had already cut out gluten years earlier, so it wasn't as huge of a leap for me. Although you're right... the high fat thing did make the bathroom a little... different. The nice thing with paleo is that it's generally recommended to do it 80/20--so you can have other things as…

I did it for awhile. Lost about 15 and have kept it off. My mom lost about 40 and has kept it off. But FYI--you'll probably get a LOT of hate on this site for posting this. I know I did when I posted a similar topic a few years ago.

It's much more possible to LOOK like you've lost 15. Cut out inflammatory foods that make you bloated (for a lot of people, wheat, dairy, beans, broccoli, sugar... stuff like that, whatever you notice makes you bloat), eat clean (makes a HUGE difference--6 weeks of eating without chemical-ish weird additives will transform…

I get the most killer burns doing plyometrics (lots of jumping), but if you have tricky knees, that would not be the answer. Neither would running! If you're looking for high burn DVDs, I'm a huge fan of P90X and Turbofire (no, I don't work for Beachbody), although they are not cheap. Jillian Michaels stuff is great too,…

It's all about experimenting (endurance or not--I've been both kinds of exerciser). For me, I do best if I eat something kind of carby, but not too heavy (like a small amount of oatmeal with a small amount of PB). An empty stomach kind of makes me feel dizzy (since I like to push pretty hard). And tonight I had steak right…

One of my favorites too! For some reason it makes me feel the most badass.

TurboFire 55EZ. Which is not easy  Felt awesome!

I'd say do legs/back once a week and then pick whichever is your favorite upper body one for the other (maybe shoulders/arms since you'd be getting back with the other DVD?) I think your running will get turbocharged if you do the legs workout. That's what I found. And go ahead and do Ab Ripper X on both days too! If you…

You DO look good in it! Great work!

All of these things are awesome! You are killing it!

Weight is so crazy. I'm 5'8" but with the same measurements as the OP, and I fluctuate between 160-165, she's 145? A 20lb difference (and no, I don't have weirdly fat legs. I do have really muscular legs though!). Just goes to show that the scale number is pretty meaningless, I think--let's all measure with strength and…

That's fantastic! I did medifast for awhile and lost about 15, and two years later it's still off. I also felt better on that than preparing my own food--I have a bunch of allergies that are hard to steer clear of, and on medifast I wasn't eating them and still getting some nutrients. My mom also did it and lost about 40,…

I'd say do both (even if you do both every day you're still averaging under an hour a day). But if you can only do one, 30DS will hit your whole body, and C25K will train you for a race... so decide what your first goal is!

So inspired! I've been flirting with the idea of "New Rules" for awhile now, but I find weight lifting SO. DANG. BORING! Varied cardio is the only way to keep my brain interested (or more misty-woo-woo slow stuff like yoga or ballet)! Did anybody else who has stuck with a heavy lifting program struggle with this at the…

Ha, I know exactly what you mean. Although keep in mind, there's a LOT that goes into these decisions that they don't show! We were sort of shocked at what made it into the episode and what didn't! Seriously, though, there were 10 full 12 hour days of shooting as well as probably 100 more hours of b footage (although that…

If P90X is a fad, then I love fads. And I love Tony. (although I agree the marketing of the products is kind of annoying) But honestly... I think it's true--I love fad workouts. Popping around different ones has kept the boredom away and keeps me working out. And I've had lovely affairs with P90X, TurboFire, and Rockin'…

If you're interested in atkins, look into eating paleo instead. That IS sustainable, and aside from weight stuff, I have the most energy when I eat that way, or eat mostly that way. It basically means grain free and eating clean.

Sorry, but huh? What is toning if not building muscle? Call it toning or building, both have the result of... harder, prettier muscles. Is there some other definition of toning that I'm unaware of? Semantics, I suppose.

Thanks for the reinforcement. I'll most likely stick to my non HIIT but still working out plan. Just glad no one posted that my heart would explode... kidding...

Be prepared for a tough week or two--then you'll start getting into the groove. And like someone said, be prepared to take a long time every day. It's worth it though! Hope you love Tony as much as I do! And it's good to have a group for accountability! Maybe you and your partner will be motivation enough, but I found…

I'm a big fan of the Beachbody programs (I'm not a salesperson, I know there are a lot on MFP trolling for customers!). But things like P90X or Turbofire, etc, have recommended schedules to stick to, as well as eating plans you can follow. And then I come to this site for accountability  The programs aren't free…

It might be what you're eating, not how much or how often. For me, any amount of gluten makes me look pregnant. Sometimes beans, sometimes dairy. (although sometimes it's worth it!! ). And if it's helpful, google the Whole30 program. It basically takes out any bloat causing stuff for a month. My stomach was never…

Before I gave up gluten, it was every few days and always a struggle. Now it's daily, and easy, and I don't worry about needing a plunger! And if I make the mistake of having only coffee and fruit for breakfast, it's within 10 minutes, lol.

Your tummy looks flatter and your hips look narrower! Great job!

I like the plain flavor... kind of like honey. But I'm more of a clif shot blocks girl, myself. I think everybody has SUPER different preferences, though--I'd say try them all, and one of 'em will land.
-
Your robot looks so much cuter! As does the rest of you! Great progress!

Jealous! Awesome. I've never broken 30! I did it backwards, though--first race I trained for was a full marathon  We aimed for slow and steady, lol.

It's pretty expensive--I think legally, to print calorie information, they have to give the item to a company that tests for it. I'm not totally sure of the science of it, but it's (as we know) how much effort it takes to incinerate the item. But more sciencey and expensive.

This whole thread is fascinating. Good luck to you. To whoever said that headaches are a sign that something's wrong... not so. Cutting out sugar will give you headaches for a few days if you're a big sugar eater, and I doubt anyone on this forum would rise up in defense of sugar! (Unless you're defending it's…

I was just in Nicaragua, and they already have the cals posted on the big lit up menu there. Which is funny, since culturally they don't really seem to care one bit about the content of their food. Then again, everything is pretty much organic and local, even if it is served fried. I try to hit up a McDonalds every time I…
