I am a grad student and sometimes find that I will need a snack very late at night to keep my focus if I'm studying. If I log PM snacks for the next day (or the day it technically is because it's after midnight), I am a little hungry the next day so I end up "borrowing" cals from the NEXT day. Does that make sense? Seems…

Vegan = no animal products (eggs, dairy) and no meat. Vegetarian = no meat (eggs and dairy are included in the diet). Even eating vegetarian a little bit more than you do now has a positive impact on the environment, and probably on your body, too. Vegan proteins include beans, soy, nuts and nut butters. Vegetarian…

What is your calorie goal? I have a combo of fruit, protein, fiber, and sometimes dairy. For example, today I had 1/2 c. nonfat greek yogurt with 1/4 c. protein-rich granola from Bear Naked and a tiny bit of walnuts added, then had an organic Gala apple. (Under 400 calories)

I am the same way - I just want to eat a lot of volume. Fiber and water (and a little protein) are good for this. Drinking tons of water definitely reduces my intake. I also make sure to have fiber and protein in each meal. As many have said, if you want volume, eat lots of veggies and other low-density foods and you can…

I am finding it IMPOSSIBLE to give up chocolate, and I cannot eat just one little square. Also hard: -Homemade cookies -Pastry-type things you get at coffee shops -Any other kind of candy -Ice cream -Frozen yogurt with lots of toppings So basically just sweets for me.

No food is really "bad" as long as you count the calories and stick to your goals for the day most days. But I know that, for me, a regular bagel will not fill me up as much as the same 300-ish calories of a mix of fruit, whole grains, and protein. I do eat whole grain bagels sometimes, with a protein-rich topping.

I have been vegetarian for about 10 years, and vegan for much of that time. For protein, I like: -Hummus -Fake meats (i.e. Tofurkey & Gardenburger... these are basically junk food but they are delicious) -Beans, lentils (in soup, or make a burrito or wrap) -Eggs (hard-boil a bunch ahead of time and they are an easy snack,…

This is a big problem for me, too. I feel that eating at night helps me wind me down and feel like I am having some "me time." The best solutions I have found: 1) MAKE THE ENTIRE SNACK and have it outside of / away from the kitchen instead of sitting in the kitchen where there is more food or eating out of a box 2) Start…

I have noticed that this is ALWAYS true for me so far, and the sugar is definitely a result of recording the sugar in fruit. I am a big fruit eater and it has never hindered my weight loss in the past (I have weighed 20+ pounds more than I do now and eating fruit instead of simple carbs and in place of more calorie-dense…
