Its still 100 degrees outside in AZ.. but I guess its fall anyways :) BUMP!

One of the things that has helped me is making sure I eat smaller meals and snacks every 2-3 hours. So yes, I do get hungry after a few hours, but its ok because its time to eat again anyway :) Eating that way also helps your metabolism stay up and consistent throughout the day. Hope that helps!

Haven't posted in a few weeks, things have been a little crazy. Sounds like lots of successes congrats to all of you!! This Saturday's weigh in was 200.8 for me so just .8 more to go in another 8 days and I'll get to see that 1 in front :) Good luck everyone!!! I'm so gonna do that 7 minutes on the high incline :) We'll…

Open up your journal for viewing so that we can give specific advice :)

Welcome to you both! I've been using MFP since March of this year and just love the network of support, forum topics, recipe suggestions, etc. Browsing the message boards have led me to numerous nutrition and fitness resources and continues to generate motivation for me. Not to mention the extensive database and user…

Happy Monday all! It's a new week and its going to be a good one! My goals for the week are to stay at my calorie goal and to vary my exercise some this week. I need to mix up my cardio and strength a little bit. I have some resistance bands I enjoy but haven't found a comprehensive workout for them yet - if anyone has…

Count me in too! My loss has really slowed since about 225... I'm at 212 now and really want to see that 199 before August is out! I've been watching calories, managing carbs and keeping low sodium and swimming or running at least 4 times a week. Let's do this!!! 7/19 (Saturday weigh in so 7/17) - 212 8/2 -

I agree so much with all of these comments!! I have had the same issue and just finally started looking at some of my before and after pics to really see the difference. One of my big problems was not wanting to spend money on "in-between" clothes. I had a total of 145 to lose and after the first 60 or so thought that I…

Sweet! Thanks!

I have found it amazing how many foods that I typically would have thought were awful can be modified to really be not too bad for you. For that steak - grill it w/out adding any butter and use fresh sauteed mushrooms in olive oil with seasoning instead of creamy mushroom sauce. Eat baked chips instead of fried. You might…

We've talked about sodium - and just a few other suggestions there - use frozen or fresh instead of canned products - and avoid eating out!! - challenge yourself for one week to eat nothing that you don't make yourself and i'd bet you see a difference. Also, I would really watch your carb/sugar intakes and try to up your…

I saw this thread and was inspired! My hubby and I have been talking for months about trying turnips as a potato substitute and this challenge gave me just what I needed to finally go and try them! We had them tonight with a grilled pork chop and spinach salad and it was great! Boiled, mashed and added just a little…

I've been using MFP since March but have been on my weight loss quest forever! I have found it to be an incredibly useful tool for really knowing what exactly I put into my body everyday. I agree with an earlier post - you'll get out what you put in - it does take the commitment of a few minutes a day to log your food.…

Assuming that you don't have any other health concerns (high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc.) I would suggest also using low-fat or part skim cheese to supplement protein. I take string cheese (part-skim mozzarella) with me almost every day as a snack with a piece of fruit or whole grain cracker. The Laughing Cow…

I agree - I can only manage it if I limit my water intake after 7 (which also forces me to finish eating before then). Nice bonus!
-
I've been told the same thing (eat an hour before and within an hour after) - but to make sure the small snacks or meals include protein.

Love the before and after profile pic - you look awesome!!! Great job!

Hi all! Count me in! I started at the first of the year weighing almost 300lbs. With the help of Medifast (no I'm not totally on my own) I've lost 79 to date with at least another 66 to go. I have struggled with weight all my life and can't even remember the last time I was under 150 lbs. I would love to join in with all…

you are brave to even take it home - I always pass that stuff on to my nearest non-calorie counting co-worker :) Good luck!!

Welcome Leesey :) I'm the same way - not a lot of support at home - and I've found so much great info and motivation from the MFP crew! Keep up the great work and good luck to you!! I've been using MFP for awhile now but just recently started reading the message boards and they have been so helpful! Check them often -…

Take a cooler/lunch bag with you and throw in some other things to snack on during the day. I love things like string cheese, nuts/trail mix, fruit, veggi sticks (carrots, celery, zuchinni), even some whole grain crackers or chips would be better than nothing. But stick to stuff you can bring from home. And make sure you…

Everyone has had excellent points! Also, I noticed that you have some gaps - meals missing - in your diary. Its important to keep your metabolism active throughout the day - make sure that you are eating regularly. Don't skip breakfast just so you can have a drink or treat later in the day. Also - those pieces of fruit…
