  • It's a tough start but its worth it!! I also don't have a ton of support from friends/family so it really helps having supportive friends on MFP! Feel free to add me if you like, I log every day! Good luck!
  • Agreed!! Prep will become your new best friend!!! I don't usually prep complete meals, but make things I can change so I don't get complete bored! LIke I will cook a bunch a chicken breasts so I can make tacos, or a sandwich or throw some in a salad! Weighing everything is the best way to measure your food! It takes a bit…
  • These sound AMAZING. Thanks for sharing!!!
  • Agreed! I think we all succeed better with great support! I am 26 with no kids, and I used to be able to eat anything I wanted!!! Obviously that has gotten me into some bad habits I am trying to break! I have lost about 15 pounds (not much but on my short frame it helps a ton!), but I can feel myself stalling so I would…
  • Friend request sent!! I would love some new friendly faces on my news feed also!!
  • This is always a tough journey and I think we could all use a little more support! Its great you are taking part in the walking challenge!! It can be so hard to get started, but I am sure you feel amazing once you are done! Keep up the hard work! If you ever need a little encouragement I am here for you! :)
  • Don't beat yourself up! I agree with the person who said to think of this as a lifestyle change! I know for myself once I started treating my body better with eating right and exercise I had tons more energy and I was a lot happier!! If you need anyone to listen or just be a supportive friend I am here for you Stephanie!…
  • Just take it one day at a time! I used to hate working out, but since I have started working out I have SO much more energy and I feel tons better!!! I honestly think the thing that has helped the most for me while losing weight is tracking my food! When I am eating right I feel so great! Also make sure you have supportive…
  • It isn't an easy journey that is for sure! Keep your head up and remember that you can accomplish this goal!! Supportive friends are the most important and helpful thing while on the journey! Good luck!!
  • ^^ This! Don't talk about loosing weight talk about how this is HEALTHY and a suggestion from your DOCTOR!
  • Any one can add me! I am on daily and love to encourage new friends!
  • You can log this under your recipes! You just input each ingredient and then list how many servings it makes and MFP will tell you how many calories are in each serving. That is how I log my smoothies! And if I change anything the next time I make smoothies I just alter the recipie!
  • I am in the same boat as everyone else here!! Friends makes this weight loss thing SO much easier! I would love some new friends!!
  • Seahawks fan here! Can't wait for the regular season to start! Preseason is such a tease!!!!
  • I typically do a rough estimate. I know it won't dead on but I like to have an idea. I have also gone the route of just having a free day to enjoy what I want, but then I usually end up feeling pretty guilty.
  • I mam 5'1" and I always need as much motivation as I can get!!! Feel free to add me!
  • I recently found a couple friends who are amazing about encouragement and communication! But as always I can always use some more friends to help get through this journey!! So consider this an open invite to send friend requests my way!
  • My first month at Curves I didn't do Curves Smart, but this month I started Curves Smart and it pushes you so hard (in a good way!). I think its great to start out without Smart so you can really learn proper form and start to feel comfortable with the machiens. But once you feel comfortable, don't be afraid to start…
  • Ditto!! Friend request sent:happy:
  • How is CS an estimate? Its tracking how many reps you are doing, along with your body fat numbers and heart rate 2 times in the 30 minute workout. I thought CS would be much more accurate than MFP. Also I think saying just use the same estimate is not such a great idea..... 173 v. 420 is a big calorie difference.
  • I just started Curves Smart yesterday, holy cow!! The first month I worked out I didn't have Smart because it was a membership I bought through Groupon, but now that I am a "official" memeber I get Curves Smart. That little keytag makes a WORLD of difference!! For those members with experience, how do you feel about the…

  • I started with Sarah Beth yoga on YouTube. She is great about explaining how to get into poses and correct alignment. I highly suggest her channel!! http://www.youtube.com/user/SarahBethShow?feature=watch
  • I recently joined Curves and would LOVE someone to check in on me!! I always tend to do better when someone keeps me accountable:) Feel free to add me if you are still interested!
  • I suggest checking out YouTube, and more specifically SarahBeth Yoga! I was completely new to yoga and found her channel and decided to give it a chance. The thing I love about SarahBeth is she gives really detailed verbal descriptions about how to get into poses and how to do them correctly, so you don’t have to be…
  • Welcome:) My experience is people here are helpful and supportive. We are all here to make some kind of change in our lives so don't feel nervous!! MFP is a great push in the right direction when you are at a stand still. Log everything you eat (even if you don't like what you decided to eat) and you will see where changes…
  • I totally understand the portion issue, I cook for just myself and it can be a pain. http://www.skinnytaste.com/ is a website I really like because she has lots of good ideas that can be modified to make smaller recipes. Or the other option you have is to make the recipe "as is" and freeze leftovers for a later date. I…
