thanks for the replies everyone!! i have ALWAYS been active and generally have eaten healthy all my life. so my body is not new to exercise or healthy eating. i used to weigh 110 lbs, and thats what i'd really like to get down to. i gained the weight my 3rd year in college due to being 21, a bartender, and a party girl.…

i'd like to know what people have to say to this as well!

thanks for sharing this ladies!!! i'm 5'3 124 lbs and am shooting for 110. i've been trying to lose it now for a year, and nothing has worked. someone told me i wasn't eating enough calories, even though i was exercising and eating healthy. so i've decided to increase my calories and see how that goes! MFP has me set at…

thats what i'm trying to do, eat small meals every 2-3 hours. the last thing i want to do is get off work and go eat, then to bed! i figure if i eat around 5:30am, it may hold me over till i got to bed around 8:30

So far I have packed greek yogurt, walnuts, an apple, and celery for snacks. for my meals, i have a kale salad with lemon/balsamic dressing, with baked tilapia. i also have baked rosemary/olive oil chicken, with sauteed zucchini and 1/3 of a sweet potato for carbs.

I'm still in nursing school, but I work as a tech in the float pool. Just so happens I've been working night shifts lately, and I honestly like them better. I am just so used to eating at least every 3 hours, and I don't know if I should still keep that going or not

Thank you so much! Normally, for my weight loss I try to eat every 2 1/2-3 hours, and eat all my calories. Do you think I should eat less calories or still meet my daily needs? I usually don't work out when I have to work 2 or 3 12's in a row.

how can you find where it actually calculates?

I am taking birth control, but I was taking it even when I weighed 114, so I don't really know if that's a big factor or not. I've heard before that the science behind it is that the estrogen triggers something causing you to want to eat more, not really that it causes you to store fat, if that makes sense.

I actually gained 10-15 lbs 2 years ago, and I have been trying now for about a year to get it off. At one point I even went to the extreme of eating like 1000 calories a day, which caused me to hold onto fat. I'm gonna try to eat small meals throughout the day and increase my calories i think. Just now when I logged my…

Does anyone know what the sodium intake should be?
-
I thought so too.... I ran 3 miles yesterday. But I feel like maybe my body was telling me something b/c when dinner rolled around I was still hungry, and I hadn't had anything "bad" that day.

I'm not really sure what the book says, what you can and can't eat, but I like to think I follow a clean diet. I'm not eating any processed foods and I can DEFINITELY tell a difference! Beforehand, I thought I followed a healthy diet, and I soon realized I was consuming too much sodium and sugar and not even realizing it.…

Wow!! Thanks everyone!! Yeah I have always worked out and not lost those last 10 lbs. So I'm going to change my diet to a clean, low-sodium and low-sugar diet (which is where my problem seems to be). I love this site! It has changed my whole perception of health/fitness/diet/weight loss

I have the same issue!! I usually stick to vodka/sodas (90 cal, 0 sugar, 0 sodium!!) and if that is too bland, try a shot of cranberry or orange juice in it. If i'm at home, i usually drink gin/diet tonic. Red wine isn't that bad either. It has sugar, but it also has lots of potassium which is good for excreting out that…

slim fast has a lot of sugar and sodium in it. i used to drink them for breakfast, and by switching to oatmeal and egg whites, i've ddecreased my sugar (1g in the oatmeal) and sodium at breakfast andd seen a big difference! plus, i'm fuller longer because there is 6g of protein in the oatmeal, and 4g of protein per egg…

Wow, thanks for the advice!!
-
thanks!! :)
-
thanks! what type of calories do you suggest? more fruits/vesggies? nuts? more protein in general? carbs?

I'm actually trying out the insanity workouts! I like them a lot so far because they really challenge me, whereas running isn't a challenge anymore. I try to incorporate other exercises throughout the week like cycling and yoga, and take 1 or 2 days off from working out completely.

so how can i get more calories without eating too much carbs, sugars, and fats? because even if i eat more veggies they're still not that high in calories... but thank you so much for your advice!
