I, too, am about to leave WW. While my lack of success lately with them is NOT their fault, I am finding Freestyle restrictive. And when I panic about running out of points, I quit tracking and eat whatever (NOT their fault). I started tracking on MFP last week and am finding I get to eat more and stay within my calorie…

avocado and salsa; not extremely appetizing-looking, but DELICIOUS!

I experimented with it last year. It messed with my sleep - I could NOT get to sleep at night - and with my cycle. Both of those are possible effects of IF for women, and for whatever reason I experienced both of them. I abandoned the IF. It wasn't worth it to me.

I tried it once using a plan from QVC (very little options for the food I received), and I didn't like it. The food all had a smell, I couldn't eat anything that was supposed to be meat, and there was too much extra food I had to buy and add to the plan. And...I didn't lose anything. So...it wasn't a good option for me.

I really like my Fitbit Flex. More than anything, it keeps me aware. I have it synced with MFP. It's always "given" me calories as my step count grows (I teach), but last week I told it to start "taking away" calories when I'm less active. Ouch! But it lets me see how my inactive Saturdays affect what I'm burning. I'm a…

Pumpkin Spice coffee (K-Cup) with canned coconut milk. Mmmmmm.... I used to be a flavored creamer junkie, but once I got off of it and away from an artificially sweetened coffee, I can't drink it that way anymore.

coconut milk smoothie - cup of canned, full-fat coconut milk, banana, cup of frozen (or fresh) fruit, cinnamon, ice

I teach middle school math, and have lost 40 pounds over the school year. My current students have said NOTHING; I'm not sure they notice. But former students who see me literally gush with praise and compliments. It does my heart good!

I, too, get the House Foods Tofu Shiritaki Noodles. They're more "normal" looking. I rinse them, and then put them in a spicy garlic lime shrimp dish. They take on the flavor of whatever you put them in. My husband - who is very much a food traditionalist and doesn't take easily to new "momma food" (what my family calls…

With some experimenting, I have found I do best when mine is around 20% of my calories.

Great article! Thanks for sharing!

What is your build? I'm 5'6", and I don't see 120 or 115 ANYWHERE in my future. I was around 135 when I got married, and that was just perfect for me; my goal weight is 140. 135 was 18 years ago. (I looked at your pictures and I think you're a lot younger than me, LOL; that makes a difference!) I noticed we're "neighbors"…

I have dabbled with raw foods on and off for years. My body is happiest at "high raw." I tried a 100% month once and it was not a good experience for me. I have just "returned" to raw foods, choosing a balanced, stress-free plan that incorporates both raw and cooked foods. I also use recipes that are easy and don't take a…

I haven't done their individual DVDs (I have the one BL DVD with Bob and the blonde that took Jillian's place for a season), but I think I would have to choose Bob. Jillian would make me cry.... That being said, I have plans to buy 30 Day Shred after I finish a plan with my Zumba DVDs. :)

I would like to have a tummy tuck after I reach goal!

My most filling breakfast is from "The CarbLover's Diet" book. 2 slices rye bread (I use a rye/pump swirl) 1 egg (they suggest fried, I do it omelet style) 1 slice cheddar cheese I add salsa to it and have a b'fast sandwich that lasts me a loooong time. Have a piece of fruit with it (or save the fruit for mid-morning).

The Raw Divas...They have a free 7 day detox that I really enjoyed several years ago (after the first day's fast, LOL). www.therawdivas.com

I've read in several places it's good to find something you like and stick with it. It gives consistency, and you know you're staying within limits. It also gets quicker and quicker to prepare. The only time I've read you need to change up your food is when you get bored with it or you don't like it. I've never heard of…

That's not unusual! You're body has to adjust and will find its rhythm. Good luck!

I like my waist!

I agree! Logging it all makes you more aware, and that can lead to better choices. Logging EVERYTHING has been key for me. It also keeps me accountable!

This book completely changed how I approach my healthy eating journey!

I just got my DVDs this week and have been searching around for calorie burn numbers. Another diet site has me burning 181 calories for the 20 minute express. I figured I would look at the Basics DVD as if I had done "real" Zumba for 30 minutes, since it's an instructional video and at a slower pace. 30 min = 272 calories…

I was little under-impressed. "Here's your goal. Here's the reward. Oh, you didn't meet your goal? Here's the reward anyway!" And following the whole year in an hour, they had to leave out a lot of the details that interest me. Was she in contact with the trainer when he was not with her? Those 3 months she only lost 3…

I just ordered the Zumba Fitness DVDs; they should be here this week. I can't wait!

I have tried it and did not like the food. Anything with meat....BLECH! Now, that's my personal opinion, and people's tastes vary. The biggest thing for me was how deprived I felt eating my little boxed meal while my family ate the dinner I had prepared. I was fine for breakfast and lunch, but dinner was very, very…
