MFP has really low protein settings for some reason. You can adjust them though. As for sugar from fruit, if you're really worried, try eating fruits with lower-to-moderate sugar like blackberries, raspberries, apples, coconuts, tomatoes, etc.

If you get there through healthy means and can maintain it in a sustainable, healthy manner I don't really see an issue. Don't forget that muscle is denser than fat though so even at a higher weight, you'll still look smaller. Focusing on fat Percentage and inches lost, is more productive than focusing on the scale. I'm…

I used to eat 2-3 bags of gummy bears every night. At one point, I even kept a 5-lb gummy bear in my nightstand that I'd eat from before I went to bed (don't judge!). It would ruin my entire day of healthy eating and then would keep me up all night on a sugar rush. So now, I try to snack on nuts like almonds (raw or…

Every type of squash I can find! I also tend to buy anything I can't recognize. This has led to discoveries like dragonfruit, starfruit, tanniers, chayotes, ostrich & emu eggs, turban squash and even coagulated pig's blood.

Since I always add seasonings and oils/butters to my meats, I weigh it raw.

2 eggs, duck (or any) bacon, a sauteed veggie and some homemade salsa and a few dabs of hot sauce. The protein and fat keep me full for hours.

Hey Tony, First off thanks for doing this. My question is about asthma. I have terrible asthma and cannot "push myself" hard when exercising without needing to use my nebulizer. While I'm not really looking to run a marathon or even lose weight, I do want to increase my endurance and strength. do you have any tips on…

Raw avocados and yogurt. Ugh. It's a texture thing. And butterscotch. Ew. I love caramel though...

I weigh myself every morning, but I take the reading with a grain of salt. My weight fluctuates anywhere from 1-5 pounds everyday due to circumstances beyond my control. I also take measurements because I find those far more rewarding and telling. I took mine last night and even though I haven't really lost much weight in…

I'm interested in the responses you get because this is something I've been struggling with daily. To make matters worse, I've been having terrible asthma attacks this past week due to a cold so I've been taking Bronkaid (pure ephedrine) daily to help with my breathing. I could honestly eat 200 calories a day and be…

Eat more protein and fat with your meals. I also save the more sugary stuff (predominantly fruit) at night. I don't eat a carb/sugary breakfast, but if you do, maybe switch that meal for nighttime since that's when you actually crave it?

Beans: extraordinarily high in fiber and protein. Also a super cheap staple with a lonnnnnng shelf life. Eggs, canned tuna, broccoli & kale as well.

Just joined, and I like this thread. Seems to be a lot with similar goals! Height: 5'6.5" HW: 150 CW: 113.4 GW: 110-125, but less cellulite and jiggle and more lean mass.

In my experience, it really depends on your bone structure and the percentage of muscle/fat. I'm 5'6" and fluctuate between 110-115. While technically underweight, as you can see by my icon, I'm not exactly skeletal. Most of my female friends are the same height but weigh around 130-145 and look thinner than me because…

Hey everyone! I'm Mita from NYC. I'm 29 and have about 15 more pounds to lose--or not. I mostly just want to curb my cravings and tone up since I'm a shining exampe of the dreaded skinny fat. I've been a member or over a year, but was never really active. By adding friends, I think it will make me more accountable (it…
