AWESOME!!!!

I 'm doing the same ratios (my trainer suggested it) & also have the same exact problem with carbs and fats. I eat very little breads - usually oatmeal for breakfast or a Thomas' Light Multi-grain english muffin with natural almond butter or Polaner sugar-free spread with fiber & Fage 0% plain greek yogurt. For lunch, I…

I can't help too much, but the same thing happened to me. My waist had measured the same for months, while all my other measurements were gradually decreasing. I just continued with my eating & exercise plan (I use a trainer) About a week ago, I finaly noticed my waist was finally smaller. Doing exercises that work your…

For bras, you could try checking out Fredericks of Hollywood as well. My best friend is a 42DDD & orders bras from there online. She has a hard time finding her size, not to mention supportive bras.

I'm also currently doing both. The main thing I learned from WW is to eat either fruits or vegetables with every meal & have them as a snack, since they are 0 points. My eating had been a bit off, but this week, I'm back to concentrating on that.

I wouldn't worry too much. You can change the ratios of carbs/proteins & fats to something different, if you wish. I currently have mine set at 40%carbs /40% protein /20%fat. That's what my personal trainer recommended.

I started using a personal trainer last August. I must say, mine has a great personality and is very encouraging, both with workouts and diet. He understands physical limitations & would work with someone, help them find an alternate exercise if necessary. Most importantly, he didn't run screaming in the opposite direction…

Just focus on yourself - the foods & snacks you want to eat, and your own exercise plan. This is what I've had to do. I make sure my own foods are in the house and make sure I get my workouts done without regard to family members. Granted my kids are older teens & not small anymore. Just tell your wife that you are going…

LOL! That does suck! You would think friends & family would be supportive & helpful, not jealous & tryiing to interfere. I have two friends (who together weigh 98 lbs) recently telling me that I AM allowed to cheat every once in a while & it won't hurt anything. My response - "Yes, while it's true I would be able to do…

I'm happy you have a great support system & your husband is encouraging!!!!! I unfortunately had to learn not to rely on my family for support, but instead to lean on my friends (the ones who are not trying to sabotage me, that is) & my personal trainer. My trainer has been especially supportive; even though yes, it's his…

I agree with everyone else - it's important to eat in order to lose weight. However, my personal trainer also stresses the importance of eating the CORRECT foods - as in, no junk foods. (Much easier said than done, trust me!) Because he knows my workouts, he has me eating 1800 - 2000 calories daily, and not less than 1700.

Friend request sent!

AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not a runner, but I do donate blood. the Red Cross tells you no exercise for 5 hours afterwards & to drink extra fluids for the next 48. I imagine within that time, you'll be able to pick up again.
-
I'll add - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! YOU HAVE REACHED YOUR GOAL WEIGHT!!!! WAY TO GO!!! WOO HOO!!!
-
I use Konsyl Original Formula Psyllium Fiber. 1 teaspoon has - 3 claories, 5 grams of fiber (3g soluable), no sodium, sugar, or fat. I add 1 teaspoon to the protein powder I use & make a shake.

Feel free to add me as a friend as well - I keep my diary open. And congratulations, by the way, on getting out of the overweight catagory for your BMI! That's fabulous! I have a long way to go before I get there; however, I am making (slow) progress. I've been working with a personal trainer since August, and adding…

By the way, you could also try posting this in the Recipies/Nutrition folder to see if you get any other responses. One of my favorites is - mix together the juice of a couple lemons, extra-virgin olive oil, crushed garlic, pepper, and either some basil or cilantro. I just made this last night, using limes instead of…

My trainer told me it's not an absolute that you have to stop at the maximum you're supposed to, but instead it depends on how you feel at that heart rate. He said that if you feel nauseous, then you are pushing yourself too hard & should slow down, but otherwise, you are probably fine.

I'm 5'3", large frame, 47 yr old female. My goal is 145 lbs. Started at 243 in August, currently at 227. Working with a personal trainer since August; so I'm building muscle while losing fat at the same time. According to him, it's a much slower process, but he thinks it's the way to go. (He has complete faith that I will…

LOL! sounds good to me! I have the basic one where you stand the entire time.

My comment would be to try it & see. My elliptical totally wears out my legs, cause it's constant movement for the duration. I go by time (& calories burned), rather than distance; but I've noticed that I'm usually over 5 miles in the 30 minutes that I'm on it.

My guess would be thay you have all day to work out. I frequently break mine up inte 2 sessions.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!! That's great news; although you probably should talk to your dr. to get him to lower your prescription - or try you for 3 months off bp medicine. Sounds like you could do without meds. I'm in a similar boat as you. I had been on bp medicine for about 7 years, bp 128/94 or something like that…

5"3" Starting weight 243 lbs, goal weight 140 lbs, large frame. Although at this point, my goal weight seems like a bit of a dream that I will never reach. Fortunately, my personal trainer is 100% convinced that I WILL reach that goal. One of the advantages of having one - to be my motivation and push me to work my hardest.

Thanks for posting this link! I found the site very helpful with meal ideas. It will help me with how my PT wants me to eat.

I know it's too late to help you with dinner tonight, but I was wondering anyway - Do your parents know that you are trying to lose weight? I was curious if they do & simply do not support you at all; i.e. - knowing you want to lose weight, but don't give you a healthier option and continue to cook so many foods that are…
-
@ Scarlett - yes, 1800 still seems like so much to me, but I'll trust that this trainer knows what he is doing. He's already helped people lose this much weight. And good luck with training for your black belt test!! My instructor hasn't mentioned anything yet about the test - it's still far enough away; but I know it's…

Thank you EVERYONE for your support!!!! I certainly could use it, since I get hardly any at home. Funny thing is, I never even knew about the Message Board Community on MFP until several weeks after I joined. I signed up cause I was able to keep track of foods & calories both online & offline with my ITouch. @ mgmlap -…
