  • I am still working on recognizing the difference between being hungry and being thirsty. Sometimes I think I'm hungry but I'm really just dehydrated. Also, if I eat a lot of sugar I will feel hungry way more often. So yeah, definitely still working in it.
  • Maybe request that she try to not eat sweets around you? I had this problem too, and at first I tried to just deal with it, but it was always so exhausting and frustrating. Eventually I talked to him about it and he has been super supportive. He still eats mostly the same things, but when we're cuddling or watching TV…
  • That's so awesome! Congratulations!
  • I am the exact same way. Milk chocolate all the way! Especially chocolatey desserts like brownies and cookies and...I should stop talking now. I find that I have less of a chocolate/sugar craving when I've had plenty of fruit and water that day. (My cravings are almost invariably at night.) I think the natural sugars from…
  • I had a bowl of rice crispies with almond milk, my staple breakfast. It fills me up without weighing me down. A couple hours after that I had a banana, and then an hour or so after that an apple. An hour later, lunch time. I prefer several healthy snacks in the morning over a large breakfast.
  • Count me in! I've been looking for some fellow college students on here. Everyone on this thread, feel free to add me! I set up my schedule so that my first class every day is at 10 am. I'm planning on getting up at 8 and exercising before class. Also, I don't have any evening classes, so I'm going to try and get an…
  • Us college kids need to stick together! Feel free to add me, as well! :]
  • Fruit, veggies, yogurt, rice cakes, pretzels, nuts, protein/fruit shakes. I mostly go with the fruit, especially now that it's summer! You can have bananas, grapes, apples, strawberries, blue/blackberries, raspberries, peaches, watermelon, cantaloupe, kiwi, grapefruit, oranges. Just look around the produce section!

  • This is such a good idea! Count me in! I'll be starting tomorrow. :)
  • I used to have soda with lunch and dinner every day, and also usually as a snack. Two years ago I switched to apple juice and completely gave up soda. Eventually I transitioned to water and also gave up fruit drinks. Now I just drink water and the occasional glass of almond milk. Best decision of my life, mostly because it…
  • Hey, I'm here to get fit and develop healthy habits for college. (Only one month left!!) All you crazy college kids out there, feel free to add me!
  • About 15%, because I usually just have a bowl of cereal. I don't like having a big breakfast; it makes me feel weighed down. I do usually have some fruit becereal and lunch, so I guess that would up it to about 20%. Dinner is my biggest meal, but I eat early enough that I have a few hours before bed after eating.
  • I have been there, many times. Based on my experience, I would say you are suffering from junk food withdrawal. Just eat really clean over the next few days, get some exercise in, and you should be good. Also, fruit has lots of natural sugar, which usually helps me transition back to healthy eating (without missing the…
  • If I had to give it a number, it'd be 125 (I'm 5'7" and currently 134). Honestly, I just want to get to where I feel good about my body, which is pretty much wherever eating healthy and exercising takes me.
  • I try to keep it accurate, but I think I might underestimate how much I eat on accident, but not by much. I also underestimate how much I exercise, so it's all good. :]
  • I usually just have a small glass of water and half a banana before exercising in the morning. Enough to get my body started, but definitely doesn't weigh me down. Then I have a bowl of cereal or something when I get back before starting on my day.

  • I looove rice crispies. A bowl of that crunchy goodness gets me filled up just enough so that I'm content but not weighed down. Every once in a while I'll go with Chex or Bran Flakes (not Raisin Bran, because I don't really like raisins and just flakes = fewer calories). I also sometimes go for cheerios. These cereals used…
  • I'm 5'7" and 1/2 and my goal is 125. I started on here at 145, and my highest ever is 155. Right now I am 134 (woohoo!), but I still see room for improvement in my body, so I'm thinking 125 is mostly likely where I'll end up.
  • We seem very similar! I'm 5'7" and am trying to lose these last pesky 10 pounds. (I'm actually 135 right now and am trying to get down to 125.) I swim 4 times a week, run 2-3 times a week, and then sprinkle a couple misc exercises in there for variety (and fun!). I'm hoping to reach my goal weight by August, and then I'll…
  • College student here, as well! I've already shed my first 10ish pounds, and now I'm working on those last, stubborn 10. I'll send you an invite, and would love to get some more college MFP friends!
  • I have found out recently that when my parents started, well, parenting, my mom was a healthy eater and my dad wasn't. They decided it would be best to give us options and allow us to decide on what to eat. The thinking was that if they forced us to eat healthy, we would push it away even harder, plus I don't think my dad…
  • Don't worry about natural sugars. I also eat a lot of fruit (it's the best way to get your vitamins!), but it's impossible to stay under for total sugars.
  • Heat. When I start cramping up I grab my heating pad and take a nap with it on a lowish setting. Usually when I wake up I'm fine, or at least better. Sorry you're having to go through this. Cramps are the worst.
  • Same. Sugar is the only thing I go over, and usually it's been twice as much or more. I wish there was a separate quota for natural sugars, because almost *all* of my sugar comes from fruit. Don't worry about it. :)
