Like everyone else said that sounds like a lot. I'm young, in a healthy weight range, and used to be a cheerleader and I find insanity very taxing on my body. Be careful and listen to your body. The last thing you want is an injury.

I use the Mifflin-St Jeor method off of IIFYM.com. It's said to be more accruate than Harris-Benedict and gives me about 100 calories less per day. Since I switched 2 weeks ago I've finally started to shed some weight doing insanity. I'm about to enter month 2 in a week and I"m going to stick to my 1550-1850 range…

I’m about to finish month 1 today and here is what I have found. Don’t wear running shoes. I actually go barefoot now when I do it. My calves work so much harder for it. It took till mid-week 4 and 2 days of rest (I doubled up on plyo and recovery the next day) to see any loss of weight. This has been the hardest for me…

Today is my last day of month 1 and I’m right there with you. I’m very much looking forward to recovery week (though I hear it’s brutal) and month 2 (which is even more brutal). Doing the same 4 DVDs over and over I feel like a robot now just going through the motions… very sweaty motions, but I am finding myself spacing…

I didn't say he had gained it in a month. That wouldn't be possible. It was roughly over a year and half time span that it occurred and neither of us noticed it at first as my husband is very tall and broad. It did however occur after, not before marriage. But I made a commitment to the man and stuck by his side. As I…

I can completely relate to where you're coming from. My husband gained 80 pounds AFTER we got married. I have lost around 11 since then and have remained relatively the same since he's known me. He had tipped the scales into obesity. And while I still found him very attractive I became concerned. His parents are both over…

A food scale is totally necessary. I weigh everything. EVERYTHING. In grams. Even prepackaged meals because I have found many times the amount is either way more or more often way less! I'm cheating myself out of calories I could be eating by not weighing it. I do not however take it with me out to eat. I’ve been weighing…

The method Shaun T uses in the nutrition guide is the Mifflin-St Jeor TDEE method, which I have heard is inaccurate. I use the Harris-Benedict method which IIFYM TDEE calculator says is more accurate. It gives about 100 calories less than the Mifflin method for me. If you’re nervous about jumping up to 2000 calories right…

I am almost through week four and I have yet to lose any weight or inches. My hubby says he is seeing changes, but I just don’t yet (other than cardiovascular strength… my endurance has gone up exponentially). I’m doing the TDEE -20% method because I find that doing HIIT my HRM is just all over the place and I don’t trust…

Nope. It's called being a woman. I don't even bother with the scale around this time anymore. I just eat right, give into my cravings a little (within my calorie goals), drink a ton of water, exercise and when it's over I'm back to where I was.

Week 4/Day 3 today and I have sadly seen no results yet (weight, inches, or body fat) and I’ve followed the program to the T as well as eating within my calorie range every day with the exception of a day here or there. It’s starting to get a little defeating I will admit. Putting in a month’s work of the hardest exercise…

I’m right there with you. I’m half way through week 4 and I have gained .5 lbs and not lost a single inch (body fat % hasn’t changed either). I feel no different with the exception that my cardio conditioning is so much better (which I am really enjoying and I think HIIT is making me a better athlete for it), but eating at…

About 5 mintues. If I really push myself and it's the only running I'm doing I could do about 4 to 4.5 minutes. But I've been running for a while. ETA: Keep it up! Before you know it it'll be one mile nonstop.

Love it. It replaces all milk in my house with the exception of milk needed to cook. Unless you get vanilla flavored it tastes like liquid almonds and it's much lower in calories. I don't like to drink my calories so when I do I'd rather reach for the 40 calories in a cup of almond milk than the 90 in a cup of skim milk.…

Varsity cheerleader, year book editor, played in the marching band, and worked the backstage crew in the theater group. I dabbled in a little of this and little of that and had a lot of friends in various circles and wouldn’t have changed a thing. I wouldn’t ever want to redo HS even if the experience was the same however.…

I second all of this...

It sounds doable to me. You’ll be able to get in one more long run before you start to taper and if you can try to hit 10 mi. If you can hit 10 mi you can definitely do it.

NFL - Browns WOOF WOOF! NCAA - Ohio State OH! If you can't tell by my picture of my doxie and me rocking our OSU sweaters.

My work is the same way. There are forever full jars of candy (and it's the good chocolate bar stuff), trays of cookies, chips and dips you name it. My trick? Don't sit anywhere near it. If I don't sit near it and never have to walk past it, it doesn't exist to me. Out of sight, out of mind. Maybe ask for the place where…

What I do is take small portions of everything I like and as I finish them if I want more I take more. The way I see it is a handful of days each year is not going to derail me. However, less food on my plate at one time makes me eat slower which in turn helps me eat less.

5'5" here. I'd love 125, but if I lost lots o inches without losing weight I'd be ok with that too. ETA: Basically I'm looking for a BF% of 22%-24%.

I did it barefoot yesterday for the first time and holy s do my calves hurt today. Going barefoot made a huge difference in my knees and shins and I could definitely tell I was working my lower body harder.

Stuffing, HOMEMADE cranberry sauce with tons of spices, and egg nog are all I need for an amaze Thanksgiving :)

O-H! From the Cleveland area, but now live in Columbus. Lived in Nashville for many years in between.

I currently am using my running shoes and the cross trainers I do have are extremely old. Like I said I can’t afford a new pair at the moment. Good to hear that you were able to do the program barefoot. I too do it on carpet. I might try a couple of sessions with my old cross trainers and a couple bare foot to see what I…

Same here. Love my hour glass… just wish it was a size smaller.

I'll be honest. C25K never truly gets easier as it shouldn't until you've made it to the end. You should be pushing yourself to go longer and faster every time. That’s how the program is built. One thing that might help is stretching more and a proper warm up. Are you doing this? If you're not you might want to start.

I allow myself to indulge my once monthly cravings. Mine usually only last a day or two tops so I don't feel bad about it. I buy the darkest chocolate I can (usually 70%+) which will minimize how much I'll eat. Usually a square or two will satisfy me. And for me the big thing is salt. I crave salt and it’s all I can think…

I follow the TDEE method now (what they recommend in the book). I've neither gained nor lost weight, but I have lost inches so their recommendation is working for me.

Checking back in on this post. Just finished day 15 of insanity (second fit test) and wow. I have lost ZERO pounds, but I’ve already lost an inch off of my waist and a half inch off my hips. I’m also starting to see a slightly flatter stomach and some definition peeking through there and on my arms and legs (my calves are…
