Please educate yourself before posting. All Bariatric Centers of Excellence require their patients to undergo psychological evaluation prior to surgery and many patients continue therapy after surgery to address the underlying psychological issues that result from successfully losing weight after a lifetime of obesity. I…

OK...so here is what you did not want to hear~ If you are coming to the Raleigh area and like Southern food, you absolutely, positively CANNOT miss a trip to Mama Dip's in Chapel Hill! Banana Pudding is divine : ) But for healthy food, there is a Jason's Deli in the Briar Creek area. Fabulous salad bar as well as delicious…

I am 5+ years out from RnY. You can read about my story if you like on my MFP blog. It would be in the first couple of postings in the archives. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/beach_bum_gurl Of course, I could also try to answer any question that you may have privately as well.

You should speak with your surgeon's nutritionist to guide your caloric needs and protein requirements. It will change the further out you are from surgery.

Thanks everyone. Salon it will be!

I have had sleep apnea for over 10 years. Even after losing over 100 pounds, I still have to use CPAP at night. I sleep great! I have tried many nasal masks and I have to say the one I have now is DA'BomB~ It is the Dreamweaver by Circadiance. Honestly, sometimes I rarely know it's there it so comfortable!

One word~ CONSIGNMENT! Find a good consignment shop in your area. Not only can you get name-brand clothing very reasonably, but you can sell the clothes that are falling off of you. I just went to my fav shop today and here was my take: American Eagle winter coat with hood: $28.50 and Levi's jeans: $10.50. I had $38.50 in…

I get acupuncture plus massage at least once a month for overall health maintenance and stress reduction. I originally sought out Chinese medicine to assist me with chronic migraines. I have gone from having migraines approx every other day to 1-2 times a month. I highly recommend it!

^^^ What Jooles said! I am 5+ years out from RnY. There should be no way that you should shoot for 1000 cals at 2 months out. Work on getting your protein in, and take your vitamins. Your doctor hopefully has a nutritionist on staff. If you are concerned, talk to them.

I am an American that knows every word to the *Canadian* national anthem.

Yes. The HRM monitors your heart rate during your exercise and converts that to calories burned. There are many versions of HRMs. I have a Polar FT7 which I really like. The chest strap is really comfortable and I almost don't realize it is on me during my workouts. Google heart rate monitors and you can see the different…

Before I got my HRM I logged it as circuit training. I strongly suggest buying a HRM for accuracy. I am burning more cals doing the 30 DS than what MFP calculated for me.

You can do it! Realize, though, that initially you will think it is REALLY HARD. But it gets easier with each day. You will really see improvement in your cardio and strength from day 1 to day 10 of each level (there are 3 levels). You will also probably develop a love/hate relationship with Jillian : ) Take measurements…

It is a great organization! My 9 yr-old niece ran her first 5K with them last year. They teach nutrition, fitness, and self-esteem to young girls in an afterschool type venue, which culminates in the girls completing a 5 K.
