If you are referring to the statement, "Lowering your carbs are necessary to help you lose weight. You do want to eat some, but in the form of low carbs (green leafy vegetables and low-carb fruit) so that you can continue to eat the necessary vitamins and minerals your body needs." That is exactly what I'm saying. Perhaps…

3 cups is my average unless I'm going to be out in the heat, then I add 3 more. I drink it plain, sometimes with ice.

+1. Save it before you log off, and you're done for the day.

Please point out WHAT that misinformation is. "a lot" just doesn't make things clear.

Whatever you feel like not doing the most, do it first. That thought works for me. :)

Introduce more protein into your meal planning. It fills you up, helps keep you fuller longer, so you aren't overeating, and it helps maintain muscle. I need to lose 60lbs, and am having to teach myself to eat more. Fat free or low fat dairy, green leafy vegetables, and 2 low-carb fruits a day will help too, but focus on…

Seated leg lifts, standing leg lifts, standing calf raises, inner & outer thigh presses, resistance band exercises. I use this site: http://www.exrx.net/Questions/BasicProgram.html

I'll be flying from GA to LA. Meet me at the airport this time next year.

In increments of 10lb lost, my first reward is going to be a new set of workout clothes, followed by Pedicures, manicures, , jewelry, a day at the spa, new clothes, and finally a trip to Australia!

Great gifts! Happy anniversary!

She sounds so charming! NOT! Sorry you had to deal with that. I'd have been ringing her doorbell, so you handled it well! You don't owe her squat, but she needs to be reported - over the coach's head since he's married to her. Have a good cry to get the anger out of your system, and then send her one last email and tell…

Look up Dukandiet.com. It starts by taking a short quiz and finding your true weight. I've been collecting tons of info and useful sites for it - along with some pretty tasty looking recipes!

There is quite a bit of a debate about this in MFP. The non-debatable thing to remember is that you need to cut 500 calories per day in order to lose 1 lb. per week.
-
It is similar to Atkins, except there is a 3-5 day introductory phase, and dairy isn't limited. The carbs are slowly reintroduced beginning with the 2nd week.

I'm on it. I dropped 10 lbs. this past week. Take a look at my diary. I start of the Cruise Phase this week, alternating one day of protein, with one day of protein/low-carbs. The first week is tough, but it's doable, and if you hit the recommended weight loss sooner, you can start the Cruise Phase sooner. The only affect…

Increase your protein to make you feel fuller longer. Low-fat dairy, lean meats, seafood, ocean fish - Those are all healthy proteins, and they fill you up. Eat back no more than 1/2 of your exercise calories, otherwise, you'll only maintain your weight.
-
Eating your exercise calories back will make you maintain, not lose. Up your protein and drop your carbs. That helps too.

+1 This!!

Your weight fluctuates from day to day and throughout the day. Twice a week is good for me - Mondays and Fridays. Always in the morning, and always in my pj's. The scale lies, and a tape measure is accurate.

Complex carbs are better for you overall than simple carbs. (Think whole grain bread vs. white bread. The second is basically stripped of its nutrition, hence the reason we often see "enriched" in the ingredient list.) The reason being that complex carbs take a little longer to digest and do not spike your blood sugar like…

I love Morningstar's black bean burger, but this sounds great! Going to save it so I can make some this week. :) I love seeing the grammar police get busted. ROFL

Three egg white omelet with scallions, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, and feta cheese, seasoned with Italian herbs. Topped with salsa or diced, stewed tomatoes and a dash of chili pepper.

I'm 48 and weigh 191lbs. If I exercise 3 days a week, my goal is 2194 calories. I can't eat that much unless it's mostly high carbs, and then all I'd do is gain weight.

Your wife was beautiful before, but she's stunning now! Just gorgeous! Congrats and please have her post what she did! What an incredible inspiration to the rest of us in the "Over 40" category!

I'm going with 40protein/35carb/25fat. Protein helps you lose fat, and you need more of it if you're exercising because it helps build muscle.
-
What a great compliment! Congrats on all of your hard work!
-
A protein shake would fill you up and round up your calories, but a piece of fruit, some ff yogurt or cottage cheese with sliced strawberries, a bowl of sugar-free jello, a cup of steamed or raw vegetables would all be ok to eat.

ROFL Too funny!

I went back through your diary to when you started and noticed your sugar was high on quite a few days. Your diet looks healthy otherwise. I think you might want to lower your carbs a little to boost your metabolism and substitute lean meat for some of the dairy. Also, try changing things up in your exercise. Your body…
