  • Thanks for the information! I just found a local ride club, so I'll check with them too.
  • Thanks for the reply. :) I think I'll try adding it to my yogurt. For some reason, I don't like the gloppy mess it seems to make when it's mixed with milk, and I've got an unopened container sitting on the counter. lol
  • Thanks for the link! Now to find somewhere to put it! lol
  • My thyroid tested fine, which is great since my mother, her mother, and her grandmother all have/had thyroid problems. That was one of the first tests I requested. I have TMJD, so I eat mostly soft foods. My Maxo-facial surgeon told me not to do a whole lot of chewing, and absolutely no chicken or steak, because they're…
  • I just finished 12 min. of the free 40 min. SCIfit video. That's a workout today since yesterday, I was literally chopping down weeds for a couple of hours, and I am sore from my my shoulders to my lower back. lol I may do more SCIfit this evening, but it looks like a great morning routine to get the blood flowing!
  • You can do it! I've been in a wheelchair for 5 years. I'd give my eye teeth to be able to afford the surgery I need! I walk a little bit, but after about 200 steps, my hips slide out of joint...Ouch!
  • Beans and lentils are becoming a staple, every day food now. I just checked the cholesterol levels in the meats I have on hand, and clams are 7X lower than chicken, so that will be my go-to meat for now. I need to check the sugar content of the yogurt I have in the 'fridge. At the moment, everything I think is healthy (low…
  • Thanks, kismea! I'm saving that link for later today since I just ate lunch. I watched the attached links she had on the one you posted, and the ones shown are something I can do. Also, how could I forget Google! lol I have a list of Youtube videos I can work with now too. :)
  • Thanks! I'll do that! :)
  • Thanks for pointing that out. I mean some kind of exercise that will get my heart rate up. I've noticed that since I've been tracking for the past few days. I've been avoiding meat (except for the egg I had this morning) so I can drop my cholesterol levels. My cardiologist keeps pushing statins, and I refuse to take them,…
  • No. I'm in the U.S., but thanks for replying! :)
  • I did some checking, and there is nothing in my area. I may have to check with the college to see if they offer anything. I would love a handcycle, but will have to save for it -- maybe in a year or so, since I have other obligations, but I'm definitely interested in having one! I've never heard of pull bouys before. I'll…
  • I love Olive Garden! I get the mussels and an order of bruschetta (only eat 3 slices) every time, and a salad +cheese with the dressing on the side.
  • I used to eat a lot of food - mostly bread, pre-packaged food, and quick snack foods. It wasn't until I started eating more fresh vegetables, upped my protein, cut out sugar, and nearly all bread that my cravings disappeared. I think it was the increase in protein that did it. It took me about a week, but I am never hungry…
  • I'm 5'6", and currently 188lbs. My goal is 135. After two children, the lightest I've been is 130. That was with 3 hrs of exercise/5 days a week, and not watching what I was eating, which is going to be the key this time around.
  • Had a 2 week blip in my schedule since Mom broke her hip, but she's home now, and I can get back on schedule. I weighed in at 189.6lbs this morning. I'm going to work extra hard to lose at least a couple of pounds before the end of the month, but I don't think I'm going to hit goal this month.
  • Stepped on the scale Wednesday and was down to 187.8. This morning I'm up 2lbs. Haven't been able to exercise for the past couple of days, because my hip slipped out of joint Wednesday, after I tried doing some marching in place, but 2lbs in two days? My fresh washed jeans are a bit looser this morning, so that's the…
  • I make lists all the time, so this isn't a chore to me. I'm becoming aware of what foods give me energy, and what foods bring it down. I will probably always count calories. I never want to be as big as I am now ever again.
  • You are truly an inspiration! Congratulations on all your weight loss and hard work!
  • Just added another 300 steps for today, and updated ticker. That makes 6 min. out of my wheelchair today. I'm still having to use the table for support, but it's helping.
  • Go you! 4lbs is well done!! You're on your way.

  • Zumba! You don't even have to join a gym. Just put on some good music and move!
  • I was over by 522 calories. Got in a workout so I didn't feel too bad. I stepped on the scales today and lost 2.2 lbs. I'm good!
  • What a great idea! No tilapia on hand, but I've got a bag of salmon in the freezer, and fresh peaches on the counter. THIS is what's for dinner! Thanks for the recipe! :drinker:
  • Three scrambled egg whites with bell peppers, onions, tomatoes and mild or medium salsa, three 3" oat bran pancakes with strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries, 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt with a fruit flavored extract. (Banana and cherries are my favorites.)
  • Your body does not go into starvation mode for a long time if you are overweight or obese. You won't hurt yourself if you exercise either.
  • Single here!
  • 200 steps down. Updated my ticker.
  • I'm in a wheelchair, look up chair aerobics on YouTube. They also have a few for seated zumba. Exercise.tv is another good resource for low impact.
  • Today was mine. I ate way more carbs than what I've been eating. I tracked what I ate, and went totally over my calorie level. I also only got in 1/2 the amount of exercise I needed to counteract it. The only positive thing was that I was able to do a consistent exercise routine, so the day wasn't a complete loss.
